Let's Go! Lesbians Let's Go!

Really have been anticipating the release of this film, from the first time I came across its trailer through an IG post. Now as it is released in streaming platforms (IWANT): being able to watch a wlw web series based on my country the Philippines, with Filipino actors, staff and places that we are familiar with. It really warms my heart that Filipino LGBT+ members are given proper representation within our own media, added to this on how it tackles topics such as the struggles of PWD's regarding accessibility and understanding from others - which is very prevalent here in the Philippines.

Additionally, This show could be enjoyed by both Filipinos and other International audiences, for its story is very relatable. I had to pause the film multiple times just so I could squeal and giggle, as I watched Luna and Harry's love story unfold.

Props to the cinematography of this film, and its effective use of cinematic elements throughout the film. I am such a geek when it comes to the small details and effective foreshadowing throughout the episodes. (The window panel at EP 1, the plant pot breaking and later on being fixed, etc.)

Overall this show was really nice to watch, finished it within one sitting. Props to Ms. Lovi, Janine and Direk Sam!! for a successful mini series, ultimately winning an award at the Outfest festival. Really recommend this series! an eye opener and such a well-made film.

A Mellow Production of 2 Lonely Hearts Navigating the World with Disabilities

First. What this drama is NOT:
It is not a poignant love story that will evoke your emotions. It is not a gush-inducing romance that will make you clap or kick your feet or grin like a giddy school child. In fact, how I am I about to describe what the drama is, will come off much more poetic than the actual execution.

What this drama is:
A mellow production equally composed of disability commentary and of a lesbian romance between two hearts faced with a different way of moving through life than the masses. They fit very well together in theory. And the actors nailed the romantic gazes and awkwardness of a new relationship. One of the female leads is the insecure type with years of walls. She knows that her condition prevents her from gaining and maintaining genuine connections. The other female lead just wants to be taken seriously as an independent woman despite her disability - by the workforce, her family, and her romantic partners. They're already carrying emotional damage before we even meet them on screen - adding a layer to awkwardness, although often quite charming, into the vast majority of their interactions.

Many of the wheelchair points have been done before - whether that be the questions, the clout-related requests, the inaccessibility of major buildings and services, micromanaging and hovering family and friends, or the excuses during the job search. So, while I can't relate personally, it does seem they tackled this topic with knowledge and empathy. It's not new, but it's incredibly relevant. And quite new in the realm of queer media specifically.

What I could relate to though, was Luna's condition. Her Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder was nailed, at least in the first 3 episodes anyway. The microaggressions were flawless. As someone who experiences the same delay (just not to the point of being a disorder), I am no stranger to ALL of the snide and off-handed comments, the assumptions, the difficulties. That if you are up all night, you're a slacker. You're lazy. You're not committing yourself. You're wasting your time. You're off partying. All of the "helpful" suggestions to help you get to sleep earlier. The unfortunateness of normal business hours, especially for work. The difficulty keeping up with a social life (unless they reside in a different time zone). Not being able to get opinions/feedback at the opportune time. Or to gush about something happy or exciting when it happens. It puts everything on a delay. Everything is done retroactively - as Luna herself states.

I loved seeing the way this drama unfolded in it's night time setting. Not the energy-filled chaos of the nightlife associated with clubs and parties and bars. But rather the mellow quietness of a world where everyone else is asleep. And seeing how all these individuals, up at night for different reasons, find a rhythm with each other - settling into relationships of romance, friendship, and family.

Now if you will excuse me, the sun will be rising in a couple of hours - I should probably start winding down for bed. ?

Simple & sweet is the best way I can describe this drama, I rarely watch Filipino dramas but they're truly so cute and we love LGBTQ+ representation!

The show is about 2 girls that fall for each other rather quick because of an interaction they have and the rest is history, but both have difficulties and disabilities they deal with separately so the relationship is not shy from everyday life things thrown at them either. I wish it was a little longer but I liked the chemistry, it was a quick and easy watch and it had it's ups and downs but we get through it ya know?

The acting was wonderful, on all ends, on our mains ends, on the family and etc.

It was special, I liked it, I hope others can definitely enjoy it.

Impressive production for a GL

Finally, a Lesbian story with a a high quality production with the added bonus of people with disabilities are people too and this gets a bunch of bonus points for being such a rare find... with a great start that easiely could have led this to be a 9 or even a 9,5 this was indeed a very promising drama. However then came some parts that where rushed, made little sense and tickled my oh come on nerve a little bit to much.

The acting is good, the cinematography lovely, the chemistry is on fire. The side couple is sweet but other side characters feel mostely meeh while they do show some common misconceptions and problems people with disabilities face their acting was meeh and they did not add enough to the story to make their time worth whils.

A decent GL that I do recommed, just mind the last couple of episodes...

A lil spicy dramatic fluff short series

I think the production is okay, the actors are good at acting and has chemistry. The little details on how they move that makes us also feel whatever they are feeling in that exact scene. There's also this one scene that was unnoticeable until you actually look at their actions where Luna bought a chair and cleaned the table she doesn't use just to have dinner with Harry. How she's changing herself without knowing because she actually found love. I also wasn't expecting the spice so that's that. I think I like the most about this gl is how they portrayed the everyday struggles of PWD. I haven't seen many dramas that showcases that concept so that's a point.

However it's a little too short for my liking. I get that it's only almost 20 mins with 6 EPs so it has to be fast paced but it could've been 30 mins with 6 EPs or they could've added at least 2 EPs just to dwell in their love story more. They fell in love instantly and that's fine by me, but they also fell out of love as fast. I already know that's what they need for them to have their own growth but because of the fast pace, I wasn't as invested as much.

Could still be better but it's good overall. Would recommend!!

A outra personagem é Luna.
