Just a tad too much
Finally it's here after having waited years, the second part to the High&Low The Worst franchise. When I tell you that I was at the edge of my seat when this was announced! And it didn't..fully disappoint. As usual the action was amazing, the acting was splendid especially from those having their acting debuts in such a physically demanding movie, and the cinematography never disappoints. The issue is the same though as it is with every movie that has a giant cast: it lacks in the story department.
With so many characters involved it is impossible to flesh out a proper arch or motivation for them which leads to a lot of times of me wondering why they were actually there. I cant help but compare it to Crows Zero (especially since this a Crows Zero universe CROSSover) which also had a big cast . Difference is the cast then was made up mostly by background characters rather than characters meant to have archs/enemies of their own so they could focus on the main conflict. I believe it is best to simply focus on less characters but build on them for a more compelling story.
I think this is where casting so many of your own artists, along with other prominent artists, becomes an issue since of course you want your people to all get to shine as much as possible and broaden their fan circle (sell some of that music along with it) while with actors you can solely put focus on the few characters actually needed.
I was genuinely disappionted with the premise of the movie as well as the motivation for our main "villain". Unless this is your first introduction into the Yankee genre you won't find anything new about the storyarch. I had also hoped to see some more of the cast we already know in the movie (aka Fujio's friends whom we also know from their small drama adaptation) instead of this many new and basically irrelevant characters.
Overall the story was lacking for the fault of cramming as much as possible of the big cast into the story and missing originality, but the action and acting definitely made up for it. As usual Kazuma as Fujio is a stellar character whom I love cheering for and his crew is definitely getting the attention they deserve. I will always love that they didn't go for the typical, edgy protagonist type you see the most in yankee media and instead chose to write Fujio as a sunshine with fists of steel.
If you are a jpop fan you will dedinitely love seeing all these familiar faces taking on these tough roles, which honestly is also a point of enjoyment for itself. Obviously if you are an action fan like me and simply enjoy watching people bashing some heads in that too is really fun. But if you are looking for a compelling and interesting storyarch to go along with all that, this is not the watch for you.
While I have rewatched the first movie several times, I merely find myself skipping through this one to my favorite few fights. I think that perfectly sums up my impression. It felt like many cool action scenes thrown in a pot while the story to connect it all felt like an afterthought.
Lastly of course the music was absolutely perfect, I immediately added some of the soundtrack to my playlist which was to be expected with so many LDH artists involved.

Splendid as always
This movie aired at my local cinema and probably is still airing in several districts of my country. I am gonna give the review with as less as spoilers as I could.Continuing the franchise of H&L, H&L The worst cross of course focussed on Oya boys since the worst series was meant to focus on Oya. As usual, the main theme of H&L is of course friendship-centered. And once again, as usual, the introduction for the new gang is perfectly cool and makes me swoon. I am not a NCTzen but I really love Yuta's acting. His eyes speak a lot. Along with other LDH boys, this movie is of course worth watching if you follow the previous series of this franchise. The thing that surprised me is Daichi Mikami as Lao is a professional fighter. Initially, I thought he was a new member of LDH.
For the OST, you have to admit that H&L franchise always provides superb OST that goes along with each gang and the situation. "Wings" is the made-by-heaven combination of 4 vocalists from 3 groups.
This movie won't let your expectation down at all. Worth watching as always!

An epic continuation
Not gonna lie, I think that this is one of my favourite movies in High&Low franchise. In this movie we continue the story from where the last movie ended. I am not gonna get into greater detail about the plot in this movie, because honestly the plot in this franchise is the same. We have a bad guy/school, we fight with them, we have a momentarily bond, we win, we bond for real after some time. This is the plot for every series and movies in this franchise.
However, I would like to point out how good the movie is to the eye. The cinematography, the colours, the frames, the fight-choreos, the attire, the camera work, the music, and many more!!! I believe that the movie had a high production quality. I cannot stretch enough how good the camera work and fight-choreos are!
Every actor was on their top performance and the outcome was amazing. I think that I need to acknowledge the elephant in the room though. Oya high, will never be the same without Murayama! He was and will always be the best leader in Oya. However, thankfully Todoroki was there :) I really enjoyed his development since the last movie. I NEED MAEDA GOKI IN EVERY MOVIE AND SERIES! PLEASE!
Something that I wasn't expecting was Suzuran's appearance here. Taking into account the reference to Rao and Suzuran in the previous movie, and also watching the movie's teasers, I thought that our main villain will be Rao. But I was wrong. And honestly, I enjoyed this plot twist. However, now I need more of Suzuran!!!! I NEED TO SEE MORE OF SUZURAN AND RAO!!

Different and disappointing
The reason I started watching the High&Low series was because I heard yuta from NCT was going to be in a japanese gang movie so I just HAD to start from the beginning and watch all the content one by one. I totally fell in love with the series and characters, it's just so fun when it needs to be and so stupidly emotional at the same time. It took a year but now I finally watched this movie and wtf?The first hour of the movie was full of shit, new characters we've never seen before, with seemingly no purpose other than existing (now that I've finished the movie), no mention of any of the side characters that we know and love; unlike all the other H&L movies where we get a recap of all relevant events, this movie seemed irrelevant so there was no recap.
The hurried change from introducing the suzuran school to getting context on the actual "villains" the senomon school, it just felt like they had too much to do but wasted an hour doing a not-so-good job on the suzuran school (I didn't watch crows and dk if that changes anything) and suddenly ending that storyline and moving on to continue to the next school. There was also the school that only wants to fight todoroki, and another school I think? idk it seemed like there were a couple schools mentioned. Like who tf are these people? backstory anyone? what am I missing cuz I don't remember them at all??? then we just hear they lost the fight and move on, it was just lacking so much.
I feel like there should've been a series to establish all these new characters and bonds instead of just jumping into a movie where we're forced to watch these random characters we've never seen form a random alliance and act like their fights mean anything to story. It also feels like there was supposed to be a series before this movie to set up the scene, but we didn't get it so it all felt shallow.
Yeah it was like 5 for me but I actually enjoyed the 2nd half with housen so 6.5/10

So, without being bias, I will say it's my favourite film out of all of them. Seeing all of Oya High together and friends was the best part for me. And of course, Kazuma's character (Fujio) is as friendly as ever which makes him endearing to watch.
I also think the character stories for Amagi and Suzaki was unique compared to other friends in this franchise. Suzaki especially because you can see in his actions and gaze that he's conflicted about a few things. And the overall message that is conveyed, mostly about friendship and unity adds to the story.
The directing and fight scenes have also gotten much better and it was really cool to see the transitions from one fight to another. And the OST was also so great, I really need to add all these songs to my playlist.
After months of anticipation and excitement, I can proudly say they they exceeded my expectations!

if you haven't watched any high&low series!
my review based on• as a new viewer to this series ( I never watched any of past series )
• plot / cast / acting / soundtracks / rewatch value
• nctzen, so will be yuta biased!
firstly I want to thank yuta otherwise I would've missed it! I know this series (high & low) is very well known but as someone who is completely new to this and watched the movie : high & low the worst x , I can say that it's worth your time.
This movie is not just about fights and violence but its also about friendship!! The childhood friendship, the friendshio between a leader and his members & the trust for each other!
For the first few minutes, they will be introduced many characters from various schools (oya high, Senomon tech, housen, suzuran and few more..) the whole plot involves around oya high + their alliance with other schools and the main fight scene with Senomon tech. there isn't much background story of the characters except suzaki ryo (yuta) and amagai kohei. it's not complicated so you will be able to understand and catch up! there are some funny elements in between the plots so you won't be bored and there are also some heart warming scenes where you will be able to see how beautiful their friendship is!!
talking about the acting and characters. there are many characters and without any hesitation I can say that all of them did a great job! very well acted by everyone! The way they delivered the lines just by listen or seeing it you can say these characters were confident!
talking about yuta. I am very impressed with him. Knowing that this is his debut movie he really suprised me. at first suzaki ryo (yuta) will appear to you as a guy with tought shell, he has a lot going inside his mind but by the end I promise you will love his character too! great fighting scene but the last few mins the look, the gaze + way of delivering lines really caught me. you will be able to feel that he was deeply hurt. [ I teared ho badly here] so great job yuta!!
soundtracks are worth checking out! During fighting scenes they play some soundtracks and even during some sweet scenes. I feel the soundtracks really played a great role . Very good choice of musics!
yes it's worth rewatching!the story is simple there aren't much violence [rather I would say the scenes were cool haha] so you will be able to watch again and again. So your 2 hours will be worth!
Overall I enjoyed it yes I was hesitating a bit earlier but wanted to check out too! So I did it and it really changed my mind! If I get time I would love to check out other high & low series.
and little appreciation for the camework! Great effort by the team! with this many cast it really captured Eveyrone well!
Yuta I am so proud of you!!!
[this was my first time writing a review here so please be easy ]

THEY ARE BACK!!
This is my first review and let me tell you it was definetely worth to wait.High&Low is one of my favorite series. Both SWORDS & Worst are all great! While we see men fighting in SWORDS, The Worst is about high schoolers who fight for their friends. Their bond and how they protect each other makes me smile everytime I saw them. Also osts of The Worst X didnt disappoint again. Hearing old H&L ost with new The Worst remix - I guess - made me smile like a fool.
One of the main reason I waited for this movie was Suzuran. Their casting was great in my opinion. You can literally get the Suzuran vibe from the actors. Wish they made a spin off with this new Suzuran cast. Housen would be nice too!
Fujio made me smile through the whole 117 minutes. I miss his goofy and stupid side hahah. Sacchi's cb was also perfect!! Miss this guys. Hope we can get more movie or dramas with them.

this is the goofiest BL i have ever seen
i just saw the movie for yuta and it was scrumptious, but the plot was NON EXISTENT, they just fought for no reason.but because it was so ridiculous, it was funny.
some points:
- i think el hermano de jorel was the best character
- there was a weird tension between amagai and ryo, and the plot would have been 10 times better if they either kissed, fucked, or held hands fr
- it was overall kinda gay
- these dumbass bitches just kept mewing through out the whole movie (especially todoroki).
- yuta should have taken his clothes off and twerk covered in oil
(also, i never saw women in the movie, so i kept thinking about how do these guys are born, and i only could come with the answer that they get pregnant between men)
very funny movie tho

Fujio and Crew Never Disappoint
LIKES:CAST: as always our favourite characters are back in action! I loved the new additions.
PLOT: yes this is more of an action and street fighter movie, but the theme of never giving up and friendship, is always prevalent in this series.
PRODUCTION: Some shaky camera moments and some fighting choreography was off, but still well done.
OST: fit the situations and was better than most.
FX: Their fight wounds looked realistic and didn't disappear the next day, like in some dramas and movies.
DISLIKE:
WRITING: the bad guy, wasn't as dark and dangerous as he should've been made. Also a lot of this movie had undertones or even concept taken from Crows Zero (1 & 2). The biggest parallel being Fujio and Crows Zero's Genji.
EDITING: the flashback Fujio has of Murayama, they used a clip that showed lines in it like it came off an old reel movie camera, instead of using the original clip. Also some parts were a bit choppy, like scenes were cut out, that might have originally been in it.
ACTING: some of it wasn't the greatest, but they have improved a lot.
OVERALL:
I loved this and how it was tied to High & Low The Worst. I will be watching this a few times. I like this genre of high school fighting. This goes very well with the whole High & Low Franchise. I do recommend it for everyone (eye candy is everywhere and a guy for any taste). I hope they make more movies or series like this one.

Better than expected ( I wanted to fight too :(((( )
I have been a fan of HIGH & LOW for a long time. They all seem like friends I can rely on for the rest of my life, for real.
The plot was relatively simple and straightforward, with bits of info on the new characters' backstories. The movie had thrilling battles, the power of friendship, and moments where all you could do was clap and root for them, just like in every High &Low film. I believed that High & Low The Worst had one of the best fights, but here - damn, the action was even better.
The actors are spot on. I purposefully did not have high expectations for Yuta's acting, because I did not want to disappoint myself (don't get me wrong, I adore Yuta), but it was better than expected because he fits those kinds of movies pretty well. He has that piercing gaze that school heads always have before a major fight or when they are extremely angry, and it wassss mmmmwaaah chiefs kiss. His acting - perfect, his backstory - super cool, and just, just everything was great. As his acting debut, I think this role could possibly open big doors for him in this area. I cannot wait to watch his upcoming movie and see him in another light.
Overall, the movie was great. The visuals, the OST, the actors, the fights - everything amazing.
If you like those kinds of movies, just watch it without giving it much thought; however, if you want a movie with a solid plot and explanations, you might... consider it before clicking the play button. I'm just saying, because when I watched one of the movies with a friend, they said that, to someone who has no idea what the movie is about, it appears to have no plot and only random fights.
So, an advice, if you want to watch this because of Yuta, go ahead. If you just found it and you want to watch some fights - enjoy. However, if you expect to have a solid plot and a better understanding of why they are the way they are, why they constantly fight, why schools, why there is so much hatred/friendships, and so on, you might consider starting with the first films/series.
But as a fan of them, I absolutely loved this movie!

I came for Yuta and leave with a new of eyes open for Japanese cinematic movies & Japanese boybands.
I admit, i only watch this because of Yuta. I don't know the plot, i don't know the rest of the prequel, you can say i know nothing. But holy guacamoly all those not knowing what will happen makes me truly and very surprised.I write this as if i haven't watched the rest of the franchise. Okay so I was SHOCKED by how good the Actors doing their role. the emotion, projectoriy of the story an DEFINITELY the ACTIONS are magnificent!
However, i do not understand at first why does this schools are trashy and no teacher in the school and they're are still coming to school just to fight. that's the only thing i don't immediately like (i understand it after i watched the previous movies to this franchise).
all the actor work very hard for this and i don't know that there are SO MANY boy grup in this movies so it's make me curious for them. and turns out they make great songs too!
i enjoyed this movie very much!
