give them all the awards
This drama deserves the good reviews it has gotten because the acting is phenomenal and also the storyline is exciting. We mainly follow Sanyeong(FL) and Haesang(ML). She is a hardworking girl and seems to be unhappy.... He is a folklore professor and notices that FL has a shadow - the shadow of a ghost, she is possesed by an evil one!
They work together to get rid of it and you are going to need to click on the next episode to see what will happen.
Be aware this drama shows a lot of TRIGGER WARNING
suicide but it is no S. but murder!!
I would not say that the genre is horror but mystery and thriller! :)
9.5/10 from me
PS: the drama will show how trashy humans are wbk

Almost gave up on this...
Was struggling with this one for a bit and put it on hiatus twice. Only managed to finish it 2 mths after i started watching it. In the beginning this gave me "The Guest" vibes, which i disliked because that storyline just went around in circles for me. And things were a little draggy and predictable with the entire "main characters with parent issues" theme, which i must say seems to be a recurring theme in a lot of Asian dramas. It wasn't until episode 7 where things got more interesting with the plot. What seemed predictable wasn't, and while i disliked some parts which were over-dramatic (too much screaming...) overall i liked the message that this drama was trying to put across. Which was to make the audience rethink whether it is better to be dead than alive in suffering.
The ending scene was perfect imo and i thoroughly enjoyed the acting from the three main characters. Although I do wish the Professor's character was written to be a bit more eccentric and less whiney rich boy laden with the guilt of his forefathers. His relationship with Ujin could've been expanded a lot more.
I would recommend watching this if you are someone with quite a bit of patience and can get all the way to ep 7...

What could be better than Kim Tae Ri fighting demons? Kim Tae Ri, Oh Jeong Se and Hong Gyeong fighting demons. A truly stellar invincible cast.?I feel the beginning could be much more exciting. The story could play with the viewer's expectations regarding the existence of supernatural powers. You could throw in evidence for both humans' and spirits' involvement in a felony, and let the detectives battle with professor Yeom. The middle part is also pretty monotonous and doesn't bear much significance. There is no cat-and-mouse play, no riddles either.
?Yet I still appreciate the emotionally and visually beautiful ending. A sneak into the ancient Korean rituals and beliefs made me understand better why many elders believe in spirits and what traditions do they follow.
If you are about to watch Revenant, you might've picked it because of the cast, but be prepared for the thick layer of folklore and many grafic suicides as well.

Good Enough
Korean Drama " Revenant" is a horror mystery thriller with some folklore elements. The movie is a psychological thriller with a mystery that is slowly unfold and an intriguing story. And though the start of the drama is slow and kind of boring, the drama picks up later on and the story gets more and more dark as it progress.
The performances were pretty great and the chemistry between the three main ones was enjoyable. The characters were pretty intriguing as well and kept things interesting even when the main plot got druggy.
Finally, the CGI was pretty great and enjoyable enough. The ending was also masterfully handled and just right for the story.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

It's not justs a horror drama.
I didn't plan to watch this. But ended up completing all episode. It is a good drama. The story was also great though they ending was rushed. I watched both Twenty Five Twenty One (Kim Tae-Ri) and It's Okay to not be Okay (Oh Jung Se). They were good in both dramas. In ' Revenant ' their acting is outstanding. Specially Tae-Ri portrayed her character very well. In this drama the writer give us the message that human are more scary than the ghost. The committed horrible crime to fulfill their greedness. It also give us gerat message that live your life for your own sake not for others. I'm sorry. I can't write review perfectly. I'm expressing my own opinion. Was this review helpful to you?
Very well written horror story but dark and a little bit depressing
If you're anxious or you suffer from a mental illness or disorder. Please don't watch it.Don't binge watching either for the emotional stable people out there.

Great tv series from start to finish!
Yet to get to the end, but with this one I am sure I won't be disappointed or set up to be let down.
It is more or less about a Professor and young woman being brought together because of her father and a hair accessory that attaches an evil spirit to her. In turn, they are trying to work out the when, why, what and who from the present to past.
I am really enjoying this drama series - just as much as The Glory and Bloodhounds as it is quick paced and well written.
Have to say I really like the OS music in this, like some of the upbeat R&B/Pop songs that just hit the spot for me when it comes to sound, rhythm and melody.
It took me a little while to recognise the actor that acted in It's Okay Not To Be Okay (?)- he is that good! All the cast are great, actually.
I would rewatch this again no problem!

Great show - coming from someone who doesn't like ghosts stories!
I am so happy I was able to watch this all in one go. I didn't pay any attention to this drama because I couldn't bring myself to watch another show about a ghost - good or bad. This one was so well made and well told that it didn't feel like a ghost story. This is a show you shouldn't spoil before watching. Don't read too much and dive into the first episode you'll find yourself watching the next one.
What I loved was that the slight romance (that last episode scene when Hongsae held the cup is going on my top 10 romantic scenes), the historical background, and the acting were all in the perfect doses.
Shout out to the drum OST sound that hypes up the horror scenes.

Good quality drama
I don’t normally this genre but I throughly enjoyed this drama. The story and script were excellent, as well as the cast. There wasn’t an episode I didn’t enjoy. It is definitely dark and eerie, but surprisingly not too gruesome. I found the back and forth helpful in understanding the plot better and feeling more for the main characters. There were plenty of twists and turns that I didn’t see coming.
I really like the FL character and would gladly watch more dramas that she is in.

Kim Eun Hee strikes again!
Yes. Just when 2023 needed a well written horror series Kim Eun Hee released her highly awaited masterpiece. The writtng was sooooooo good. And i loved how she didnt just wrote superstitious stuff and showed that ghosts and scary but people - they are the worst.
Also we have to talk about the main attraction. The couple!!!! I was fangirling over them the whole time and so were the other viewers. You will find so many edits on TikTok lol. Its great that the writer didnt do much with them and left it to our imagination. The writer even said that she wanted Hongsae to be a reliable friend to Sanyeong. And professor Yeom to be a good older influence.
If youre looking for a well written drama then go for it. Even if youre not a fan of a horror stuff, the writting and acting just makes it so fun.

The ending we needed to watch.
The review comes from a horror-holic. I have always been enticed by shows and dramas that promise a thriller-horror premise. So be sure I was here to watch the whole series with all my might! I experienced a full range of emotions watching this series, it excited, amused, and sometimes terrified me. The show itself is not scary but some jump scares will get you!The acting was the strongest part that carried the series and made me watch it till the end. I rarely see a series in which every actor performs so beautifully, regardless of the small role. The characters are also well-written. There is depth and thought put into most characters although we do not explore the intricacies of each character in this 12-episode drama. Just like many others, Kim Tae Ri stole my heart too. She plays the FL who is struggling to survive as she tries to live for the sake of her loved ones and later tries to protect them from her-possessed-self. The family dynamic is complicated and yet I could feel the love between her mother, a justifiably overbearing fearful person, and the FL.
Now, the storyline is where the series leaves a bit to desire. Some parts of the story were not explained well. I am unsure if I could not follow them as I am not a native speaker or if they were just poorly explained. First, the fact that the evil spirit had a brother who was rushed (ep11 49:50) while it was important because it determined that she was the second child. There were also a few more plotholes. But those aside, the storyline was fun and kept me on edge the whole time. Personally, there were not many instances where I was bored or found myself skipping scenes although the pacing is a bit slow. At times it felt like some plots were introduced sparsely but did not develop truly. But if I were to put it simply, I enjoyed the storyline and it was engaging. The continuous mystery of who the evil spirit was and what her past was well written in the script. Many times, I found myself going through comments after watching episodes just to discuss my theories and listen to others.
I will mention this here because I see many people were curious about any romantic sub-storyline. The ML is a professor and is not the FL's love interest. He is helping our female lead to catch the evil spirit who has killed his parents and run havoc on his life in the past. Throughout the series, the 2 ML, who is a detective has shown to have interest in FL. The FL, being busy making a living, never realized his feelings. Although they did not officially end up together, in a beautiful scene the FL looks at the ML like he did in the past.
Unlike what has been a trend in past dramas, this drama does not have a feel-good ending! Rather, the ending hit near home. Even though the FL does the right thing, her life is never going to be the same. She chooses to get rid of the evil spirit and in turn, loses her eyesight. But her journey leads her to want to survive and live for herself.
The direction and production are well done. The small moments sometimes say a lot and I needed to watch the show carefully to see these elegant scenes. All in all, I would recommend watching this series. The emotions are strong and the character has a good dynamic. My takeaway from the series was, to be careful opening and knocking on doors, we never know what's on the other side :p
