This Cdrama is my reflection.

I gave Growing Pain 1 & 2 10/10. Why? It's because I saw myself from the characters and the situations. Most of my real life experiences were in this Cdrama. Tho I have a complete family but I felt I'm alone. I was diagnosed with severe bipolar disorder with psychotic features. Hallucinations, name them all I had that in Highschool, I was still not okay when I was in College/University. I take anti depressants, from high school to college. But when I graduated in College, I realize that the medicines wasn't working anymore. I get irritated when I was just sleeping and eating and the cycle goes on. I want to get out in my comfort zone. I decided not to take medicines anymore, the result? It's the same as Qian San Yi. Because of my coping mechanisms; music, learning a language, and sharing experiences with amazing friends with similar situations, I will finally say that I'm okay now. I'm healed, this Cdrama healed me. I cried and I cried yesterday when I realize that my illness is not a struggle anymore, It's my motivation to strive hard, and be myself, help myself to continue doing what I love. I also jog every morning, I drink tea, I eat well, this CDRAMA is the best. It's my wake up call. I have work since 2020, same year when I graduated in College. It's been already 2 years (From 2020) when I stopped taking anti depressants. My Psychiatrist didn't know because of the Pandemic, I didn't get to see her and have a follow up check up. The last time I saw My psychiatrist was 2019. But I initiated to contact her for myself, I need a closure, I need to see her to tell her all of this. I have the number of her secretary, it's up to me now. Goodluck to me!
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS CDRAMA. IT"S MY WAKE UP CALL!

P.S I'm currently self studying Mandarin.

Watch season 1 first before you start this season!

Honestly it's been really a long time since I saw drama could maintain their production standard so coherent for both seasons! I saw both seasons back to back and I've to praise them for elevating this season's quality to another level! Yes I do understand viewers who are used to fast romance or illogical romance plot that doesn't require brain cells kind of dramas may find this drama boring and slow but because it is indeed a family and youth drama thus it's completely logical and appropriate that they filmed this way.

I think season 2 gave us a more thought provoking story showing the difference between true reality and the assumed "reality". Even FL's parents' also had a hard time adjusting when mid-live crisis hit the mom, until when she found a new balance to her 2nd job. Lin Miao Miao here definitely showed how her unyielding and reckless personality became a double-edged sword once she stepped into the working world.

I think all the four friends all went through tough times that was inevitable due to the fact of how restless our society has become. But really having friends like this is truly rare and precious, even though they could no longer be always together 24/7 but each of them understood that someone will back them up when a situation arises.

Highly recommend to season 2 if you found season 1 interesting as well! I like the level of romance they provided in the end product even though we all know they actually had more intimate scenes for the lead couple~
