An autobiography turned drama that begins with Shintaro Yokota, a rookie with a bright future. Originally from Kagoshima Vocational High School, a scout of the Hanshin Tigers catches Shintaro's baseball sense and large-scale swing. Shintaro wins the opening starting lineup in his third year as a professional. However, the following year, Shintaro suffers from a headache and blurry vision. The result of the detailed examination is a brain tumor. He is told by the doctor to "forget about baseball" just before the professional baseball season, where he was expected to play an active role. Taking care of Shintaro, who undergoes an 18 hour surgery to prevent the loss of his eyesight is his mother Manami who sleeps in the hospital room. She continues to encourage him, as do his family and many fan letters. After being discharged from the hospital, Shintaro takes up a developmental contract and aims to return to the first team. However, although his physical strength recovers, only his eyesight does not, which leads him to quit baseball. The last game of his baseball life was his first official game for 1096 days. At the scene of the 8th inning, at 2nd base, where Shintaro took centre field occurs a "miracle" that even Shintaro himself could not have predicted. (Source: TV Asahi) Edit Translation
