An adorable show with a stunning cast.

This show was so much fun to watch. Each character was perfectly encapsulated by their actors and the plot, while heavy at times never dragged. There is alot to love in this show, from the romance, to the side couples, to the comedy, to the sometime heavy handed but still great social messaging but what you leave the show with is a big smile and a sense of great fun. The child actor was also very cute and definitely a stand out in the show and the guest stars were all more fun than the last, specifically auntie Cindy. I definitely recommend giving this a watch if you are in the mood for a great family drama.

Finally finished with this drama. Really happy to see Wang Yu Wen pairing up with Wang Zi Qi again. Haha... Always love their chemistry. Number one advantage by paring old couple is we can see how comfort they are with each other. Hehe...

The story nothing new. Old couple separated because of misunderstanding, although this time not because silly misunderstanding. While they're separated, the woman (Min Hui (MH)) become pregnant & having child. They met 5 years later & the man (Xin Qi (XQ)) find out that he has a child. & their journey begin....

This is a story about how a man fight for the love & trust from his partner. The separation 5 years ago begin from misunderstanding & trust issue from XQ. And 5 years later this still become thorn in the flesh in their relationship. XQ has to fight to win not only trust from MH, but also his son (Min Quan Quan (QQ)). Fortunately the last problem (QQ trust & love) is easier gain than the first (MH trust issue) & later on QQ will be his companion to win MH heart...

This drama also talk about sexual harassments that woman receive in office environment. They solved it with braveness from the victims & support from all the employee / friends.

What lack from this drama for me maybe only 1. How severe XQ heart disease actually is...? We get several clue that it's really dangerous one, he collapse & all the doctor visit. But they never really tell us how severe it actually is... Yeah yeah I know, that not the important part of the story. But I just want to know. Haha...

Overall this really one good easy rom com to enjoy. No angst or irrational jealousy, just a very enjoyable watch....

An awesome combination of fun, humor, love & romance, cuteness and just wonderful

This series is seriously very sweet and lovely, with a nice mixture of romance, quirkiness and humour. I find the male lead and female lead chemistry of working together is very awesome, even on the romance part. The other casts also did a very good job, including the little boy with his childish cheekiness. The series is not very long - episode wise - and there aren't any overly stressy drama within. It is definitely worth a watch, although rewatching again would depend on individual. The music paired with the entire series is also very very beautifully paired. Great job on this series to all involved!

Lacked fire

This was a fluffy romcom that wanted to add a bit of tension with the whole dead friend/sister arc and IMO it wasn’t successful. I wish they had kept it as just a romcom and not overdone the whole dead girl Su Tian angle. It became way too much for a girl that both boys barely knew in the real sense of the word.
The nerve of that man child to just barge into her hotel room and accuse her of murdering his sister without having any evidence and she had to leave her child to go investigate and clear her name and was able to find someone to collaborate her story but if there was no other person on that bus that saw what happened they both would have branded her a murderer but oh wait since they have all cleared up this tiny little misunderstanding *insert sarcasm* why don’t she become his sister so he can stop being so sad. Puhhhhhh-lease. I don’t know how realistic this would happen IRL but I sure as hell know it wouldn’t happen with me. And Boy GTFOH. She’s very nice because best believe I wouldn’t be so nice and tolerating after he accused me of a whole ass murder, grief or not, best friend’s boyfriend or not, much less offering to be his sister. Smh
The extreme level of bashing and vitriol that was directed at the FL in the VIKI comment section where I watched the drama, was seriously telling of the amount of vile/hateful/idiotic arrogant judgmental pricks we have in the world. Every time on social media we read about people killing themselves because of hateful comments. People will then flood social media like justice warriors with their faux outrage and things like #StopHate #SpreadLoveAndNotHate #BeTheChangeYouWantToSee #MeTooMovement #WomenSupportingWomen and all the other buzz word worthy slogans and hashtags will start trending, which sound all nice and good but in reality are not practiced by a lot of those who preach it. When they get on an anonymous sites, then they spew their hateful vitriol because no one will know it’s them. Know the kind of thoughts and words, the people who you associate yourself with utter on certain and especially important conversations/topics. Be intentional with the kind of individuals you surround yourself with. We really do need to do better as a society. #BeWise & #BeGuided.
I knew I deviated from the review but that level of hate and insults towards the FL in the comments was just beyond intolerable.
It was a nice romcom and that little kid was so damn adorable. The romance was cute and all but it lacked fire and it was surprising considering they have done a drama together before. Maybe it’s the director, who knows.

Lighthearted family drama

Just finished this basically 2 mins ago and writing this at 4.20am. Lol.

Well, this is for me such a lighthearted drama, no need to think so much and just go with the flow kind of thing. Haha. This is my first drama of the ML and FL and I was quite fascinated with their acting and chemistry. The ML is handsome, has the ML ceo vibe to him and his acting was quite natural. His cutesy acts doesnt look forced and when he is in stern mode, he exudes quite a believable ceo vibe. It doesnt quite hurt that i was a sucker for a sick/whump ML trope. Hahaha. FL quite reminded me of the FL in Whats Wrong With Secretary Kim (a korean drama) and I like how her character is trying to be strong. Even though it might come across as quite annoying to some sometimes, but i think it was believable that she acts that way, anyone would have to become used to stand on her own after years of not having someone to back u up and at the same time, having to raise a small human on your own. The relationship might came across as ‘toxic’ in the beginning to some, but i like how they wrote it to be such an understanding giveNtake 2 way relationship by the end.

The child actor for Quanquan is probably the star of the show, what with how much role his character plays in bringing the ML and FL together. He’s sooo cute! And quirky and smarty pants. Haha. I just cant quite get why a child would call his mother by her name though. Hahaha

It is quite weird how a sickly adopted son raised to such a high power figure in the drama, but im glad it’s not being made as another point for dramatic excuse. Haha. Xin Qi’s adopted sister was funny as well. Haha.

The osts are quite nice, I especially love the ending song. Though another 2 english songs were quite cringy in their lyrics (and having to read it every time in wetv while it plays is making the cringe doubled sometimes. Haha)

Actually, i came to watch this drama after seeing cuts from youtube of the ML whump scenes. And im glad i did!

Love is sweeter the second time around.❤️

*** Spoiler Alert (PERSONAL FEEDBACK)
Title : The Love You Give Me – 2023 (Complete 28 Episode)
Personal Rating : 8.5/10

Love is sweeter the second time around.❤️

Xin Qi ( played Wang Zi Qi) is a handsome young CEO of an investment company with life-threatening heart condition.
Min Hui (Played Wang Yu Wen) is a smart single mother and R&D assistant to one of the directors at a tech firm.
This drama is about love on the second time around. Five years ago, a young woman named Min Hui accidentally fell for a young man named Xin Qi. But things between them were complicated because Min Hui was pretending to be Xin Qi’s long lost childhood friend in a misguided way to help the friend who had died suddenly. Furthermore, Xin Qi suffered from a dangerous and potentially life-threatening heart condition, and Min Hui now desperately in love, didn't want to see him suffer. It didn't help matters that each time she tried to tell him the truth, he would cut her off, not believe her, or his heart condition would relapse. When he finally learned the entire truth, he cut all ties with her.

Now, five years later, they are reunited at a business event in the most uncomfortable of situations. Min Hui has risen to become an R&D assistant to one of the directors at a tech firm and Xin Qi has also made a name for himself as the CEO of an investment firm. Deciding that “fate” has brought them back into contact for a reason, Xin Qi decides to take all of his previous anger and betrayal out on Min Hui. But "fate" also reveals that Min Hui has a son, who is suffering from the same exact heart condition as Xin Qi making him realize through a series of events that he's the father--much to the adorable boy's delight.
Overall, this drama is a slice of life romantic comedy drama. It is funny, cute, and light. I watched this drama two times I think and it really makes me smile every time I watch it. I love how strong Min Hui is terms of taking care for her son with heart condition. She is very mature and independent (even in the way she dressed). And I love Xin Qi for doing everything he can for them (Min Hui & Min Quan Quan) to make up for the times that he was not there for them. Some people have this kind of situation and I think they delivered it well. Min Quan Quan is so cute and adorable. The chemistry of the Lead couple is so good and natural. Their acting is so genuine, and they are very comfortable with each other. I recommend this one if you need a break from heavy, scheming political dramas.

I usually avoid dramas where one or both of the main characters has a child, because of my own peculiar reason since childhood, but both instances, including this drama, surprised me as this is the second time where the kid stole the show.

Like in “Unforgettable Love,” the child actor was so precocious and lovely as he became the catalyst where the two leads get together. I couldn’t believe that Cui Yi Xin was only around 6 or 7 yrs old when this drama was filmed. Quan Quan seemed more mature than his young age and perhaps because he had to go through a lot due to his heart condition.

The leads were not too shabby, even though it’s the first time I’ve seen either of them. In the beginning, Wang Yu Wen came across as bland and lacking personality, especially in contrast with Ma Xin Rui’s character, Cao Mu, who is spunky as Min Hui is dry. But throughout the show, she develops a backbone as she fights the injustices of sexual harassment and other political games that people were playing against her.

On the other hand, Wang Zi Qi balances the jilted ex-lover Xin Qi who misunderstood Min Hui’s intentions, and the protective boyfriend he later became to be. Although, at some point, he turned into a bit of a stalker, following Min Hui around the city to get into her good graces, while finding intel on her non-consequential blind dates. Some might get put off with this, but the drama defends this behavior as permissible since there was no malice behind it.

Speaking of which, I find it really laughable that Xin Qi spends most of the drama pursuing Min Hui that I wonder when he actually works as a CEO of a large company. Ru Ji mocks this trope in one of his later conversations with Zi Zhu, that only in a drama world, where a character can be with their beloved 24/7. There’s also a lot of contrived instances I found disbelieving. For instance, Quan Quan had multiple run-ins with Xin Qi because he had the freedom to roam the halls of the hospital or wait outside alone. He was also asked a few times not to open doors to strangers while his mother was out running errands. It was fortunate that all these encounters were with Xin Qi, who he later discovered to be his father, otherwise I would have been terrified by the thought of him being taken away by an unscrupulous person.

There’s also that coincidence where Cao Mu’s boyfriend, happens to be the brother of Min Hui’s acquaintance, who happens to live at the same orphanage as Xin Qi. Talk about a small (drama) world. Talking about Cao Mu and her boyfriend, it was cute in the beginning until it wasn’t. But their pairing was better than Ru Ji’s and Zi Zhu’s, despite Ru Ji’s insistence to the contrary, that no, Zi Zhu isn’t a replacement. I lost interest in these four people after they coupled up and their chemistry fizzled.

Although the business back story provided the characters with material to work with, it didn’t captivate me as much as I anticipated. The Be Agile tech company serves only as a platform to showcase Min Hui’s intelligence, and the hostile takeover was only a way to bring the antagonist Qi Rang back into the fold. The drama started strong, and the ending was solid, but was mostly soft in the middle.

The absence of Quan Quan in the back half of the drama was palpable. I kept wondering, who is babysitting the child? Where is he and who is he staying with? The drama tried to cram so many things in the last few episodes, like we finally see Xin Qi working until he collapses because of exhaustion. Then besides all this, the villains did not get their just desserts, or at least, it wasn’t satisfactory to my taste. Are we supposed to forgive Xi Yue for all the things that she has done to destroy Min Hui? And how about Qi Rang? Yes, authorities arrested and convicted him for the sexual harassment he committed against Min Hui years ago, but what about his illegal dealings? Also, Xin Di’s absence in the main couple’s wedding is a glaring omission. The two secretaries were there, why not her?

But all in all, a decent drama about second chances.

A Heartwarming Romance with Unforgettable Chemistry, Humor, and Emotional Depth

If you are here for something that is romantic as well as entertaining along with comedy and emotions I bet this is best drama to watch !!

Chemistry Between the Leads:-
One of the strongest points of the drama is the undeniable chemistry between the main couple, Min Hui and Xin Qi. Their relationship is rooted in both intense passion and unresolved tension. Even when they're at odds, you can feel the deep emotional pull between them. The chemistry between Min Hui and Xin Qi in The Love You Give Me is intense and emotionally charged. Xin Qi’s anger and betrayal after misunderstanding Min Hui leads to a painful breakup. Five years later, he discovers he has a son with her, intensifying his struggle to forgive and reconnect. Their unresolved love and the tension between them create a powerful dynamic. Watching them confront their past mistakes and slowly rebuild their relationship is a journey filled with emotional pain, vulnerability, and hope, making it both heart-wrenching and deeply moving.

The Side Couples:-
The drama also doesn't skimp on its supporting characters. The side couples, though not always the focus, bring their own charm and quirks to the story. Their interactions add depth to the narrative and offer lighter, more humorous moments that balance the heavy emotional weight of the main plot. Whether it's the playful banter between the supporting characters or their own love stories, they contribute significantly to the show's overall charm.

Father-Son Bond:-
Another standout element is the father-son relationship that slowly comes to light as Xin Qi discovers he has a child with Min Hui. The bond between Xin Qi and his son is heartwarming and adds an emotional layer to the narrative. Watching Xin Qi gradually embrace his role as a father, and the child’s joy at reconnecting with his father, provides some of the most tender moments in the series. Their relationship offers both humor and a sense of vulnerability, making Xin Qi’s character arc even more compelling.

Funny Moments:-
Despite the heavy drama, the show knows how to inject humor at just the right moments. Whether it's the awkward situations Min Hui and Xin Qi find themselves in or the lighthearted dynamics between the supporting characters, these moments bring much-needed levity and help the story avoid becoming too melodramatic. The humor is well-timed and often plays off of the characters' personalities, giving the show a balanced tone.

Negative Point of Drama:-
The Love You Give Me has a somewhat rushed pacing, especially towards the end. While the emotional buildup between the leads is strong, the resolution feels a bit too fast, with key moments of reconciliation and forgiveness happening quickly. This rapid windup makes the final act feel slightly condensed, as if the drama is trying to wrap up lingering tensions and plot points all at once. While the overall story remains heartfelt, the speed of the conclusion might leave some viewers wanting more time to fully absorb the characters' emotional journeys. This rushed pacing is one of the drama's main drawbacks, as it diminishes the emotional impact of the finale.

Overall, The Love You Give Me successfully combines romance, family drama, and humor into a story that is both emotionally resonant and entertaining. The chemistry between the leads, the strength of the father-son bond, and the quirky side characters make it a solid watch for fans of emotional romance dramas with a touch of humor. This drama is so hilarious! I can't remember how many times I laughed. Highly recommended must watch!

Love the Wangx2. Watched them OWGM and now this. Awesome Romcom and fun to watch.

The Love You Give Me is another contemporary drama that reunited Wang Yu Wen and Wang Zi Qi together again. Their onscreen chemistry was off the chart in Once We Get Married, and now again in this drama.

The script is good and focused on the mature relationship between the two, especially since together they have a son.

I like this drama a lot because Wang Yu Wen's character is a very capable mom and career woman in AI high-tech world, and Wang Zi Qi is an investor who invests in high-tech companies. Hence it makes their work relationship equal, and the kid, Cui YiXin, is so cute and smart playing their son, Min Quan Quan.

I don't care much for the 2nd and 3rd CP because they are unnecessary. It would be more interesting if Dr. Zhou RuJi had been more vocal about his interest in Min Hui; then, it would have made the dynamic of their relationship more interesting. I'm not fond of Yao Zi Zhu's character; she is annoying.

Overall, it is not a bad drama; I look forward to new episodes released M-Th and rewatch them often. I am giving it an 8.5 rating. A couple of songs in the OST are good as well.

I enjoy watching the actors, that acted in it. I really like how Min hui is very strong independent women and she does not need xin qi to take care of her but still has him to lean on when she need. I love how they are always there for each other and supporting them every step of the way.
