Main characters need to solve the mystery to survive after an accident. Thriller genre, smart characters, interesting plot.

The two dramas were based on a novel named “The Nineteenth Floor of Hell” by Cai Jun.

19th Floor is more aesthetically in line with today’s viewers in terms of plot and cinematography. It has more romantic development and a dramatic difference in film quality. 19th Floor is about a group of people from the same school who were forcibly transported into a VR game. They then had to survive in the VR game without a clue as to why. Their goal is to find out why they were in the game and find who the mastermind is.

Naraka 19 was made on 2007 and has a more silent/music over silence than 19th floor which has the environment sounds. It is a bit confusing however there’s a bit of a thriller vibe. Gao Yuen (aka Jeremy Tsui) is also so goodlooking in this movie. They speak in cantonese and it definitely isn’t very well-done in terms of plot. However if you want to watch an old movie, you can watch this. Its a movie about a girl named Rain who was suddenly sent a message from her friend to meet at the old haunted school building to take a picture. Mysterious things began to occur and to solve the mystery of her friend’s weirdness, she follows the instructions sent via SMS and entered the game: 19th Gate of hell.

Both are about a group of people, mostly students, who find themselves in a seemingly supernatural building they must try to escape from.

Similarities:
-Both have intelligent ML’s who try to solve mysteries.
-Both have medical manipulation and mind control games.
-Both have antagonist doctors pretending to help.
-Other than the people immediately around the mains, trusting others can bring more harm than good.

Both are chinese dramas.
Serendipity is more focused on romance than 19th floor
Both of the story bases are similar - in both shows they visit different worlds (VR games/books) with different settings, solve problems and find out about mysteries.
19th floor has more characterswho travel to different worlds.

Both dramas are about a group of people starting out in a virtual reality game and then involuntarily get sent back to the game without the headset. If they die in the game, their bodies in real life will also suffer dire consequences.

Both have the same concept of strangers finding themselves stuck in strange place and have to play games to survive or in this movie earning money to payoff

Some similarities:
- a group of people end up in a game and have to complete various missions/levels
- depending on the mission the players must either compete against each other or work together
- they have to solve tasks, fight enemies and, above all, survive
- friendships and rivalries develop between the players
- we get to know the characters within the game and also get an insight into their real lives outside the game
- they are trying to find out more about the origins of the game
- the main character of Geats and the main character of 19th Floor are very connected to the game for some reason and both are very smart

Some differences:
- in Geats each player transforms into a Kamen Rider and can find or win a "mission box" that contains a "raise buckle", this gives them additional armor, weapons and abilities
- in 19th Floor they participate in their normal appearance and don't transform, but sometimes they equip themselves with items or weapons that they find in the level
- in Geats the focus is particularly on exciting and action-packed fight scenes
- in 19th Floor there is less fighting and a lot of focus on the lives of the players outside the game

Alice in Borderland (Japanese: ????????, Hepburn: Imawa no Kuni no Arisu) is a Japanese science fiction thriller drama streaming television series based on the manga by Haro Aso. The series was directed by Shinsuke Sato. It stars Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya as allies trapped in an abandoned Tokyo forced to compete in dangerous games, the type and difficulty represented by playing cards, to extend "visas" that, if expired, result in the player's execution by lasers being shot from the sky.

The story is very similar, when midnight arrives the protagonist finds herself back at school (in a dream). She's not the only person there. Her childhood friend, Takahiro, and four of her classmates are there, they find themselves in a loop and try to find a way out.
There is also a brief romance between the protagonists, the only thing different about the series is that it is a horror genre.

While SG is far more intense and gruesome, both have the similar concept of a group of people, mostly strangers, who are coerced by a shady person into playing games where they will die or fall into a coma if they fail to pass each level. Both have scenes where someone is watching the games on a screen.
