This review contains spoiler.

I feel bad whenever I laughed at Hyunwoo's antics. I feel guilty whenever I laughed at Haein for thinking that Hyunwoo is doing his best to keep her alive. I feel like a bad guy for rooting for Hyunwoo to inherit Haein's wealth. I don't trust the grandfather's girlfriend. She doesn't look like an ordinary woman. She knows what she's doing and she has something up her sleeve. If she becomes an antagonist, I won't be surprised. I pity Hyunwoo. Nobody seems to be on his side. His mother isn't vocal about supporting him, and the rest of his family member prioritises their needs over Hyunwoo's happiness. I'm glad one of his friends is supportive and volunteered to go against Haein's family. But I don't know if it's a good idea for Hyunwoo to tell him about Haein's condition. What if the friend betrays him?

Fresh Take on the Misunderstanding Trope

I absolutely LOVED this episode! It was just downright hilarious, with all the new things that have popped up from the plot on the previous episode. I loved how both Hae-in and Hyunwoo are adjusting to the doctor's diagnosis, since it really is the plot turner in the drama. Anyways, I'm not too sure about the introduction of the plot elements this early on. In this episode, we've got the second lead/probable villain too, a bit of character development from Hae-in, glimpses of the big problem that should be tackled in the entirety of the series, and even starts of Hyunwoo feeling something other than hate or fear for Hae-in. With crossed fingers, I hope the writers will carry it off good until the end. It'd be such a bummer for a drama with a great hook but a sloppy ending. The preview for the next couple of episodes left me hanging! I simply can't wait to watch it.

Terminal fl and depressed ml

I like the fact that now they are opening up to each other despite the family being disgusting and wth is wrong with the mother... blaming one child for the death of other and that being the reason for not caring for them is just too selfish i think so.

A Whole New Level

And here I thought King Eternal Monarch have expensive production until I watched QOT. The family’s way of bonding is of a different level even for a conglomerate. Kim Soo Hyun is so funny and even Kim Ji Won saying something with very funny with a straight face! Daebak!Next episode please!

Kim Soo-hyun Displays Hilarious ‘Love Tactics’

The episode had moments of fun but felt like a filler episode already. A good chunk of the episode felt like it was being dragged unnecessarily. From the side characters’ day-to-day life to long, drawn-out dialogues that don’t add anything to the story- it seemed as though the makers wanted us to care for the side characters as much as the main couple. With only two episodes in, there isn’t enough context for us as viewers to care for the others. We get to see more of Hyun-woo and Hae-in as a couple as the former tries to manipulate her into giving him the Queens Department Stores after she passes away. There are also moments of Hae-in’s true personality peeking through in different scenes, giving us an idea that she is like an onion – there are layers we need to peel to see the person she is on the inside. These moments are sweet and effective and the chemistry between the leads is quite nice as well.

It got better!

In Episode 2, we learn that Hae In's illness is real and deadly, giving her only three months to live. This sheds light on her behavior in Episode 1, showing that her memory lapses are behind her actions, not malice. Some viewers sympathize with Hyun Woo's apparent relief at her condition, but I find it disturbing. Wishing for someone's death, even if mistreated, is never justified, especially from someone who claims to have married for love. Personally, I'm curious to see how their relationship rekindles and what happened between them three years ago.

Great Episode

The second episode builds upon the first in a good way. We get better characterization of some of the characters with some more conflicts being setup here and there. At least one person close to the family is a betrayer, likely two or three. ML was actually pretty shitty here but in a good way. And a lot more sympathy for the FL gained here. Less than ideal family situation (seems like a sibling died and she might have been involved somehow?) and issues with her husband likely caused by her memory issues to some extent. Eagerly waiting to see the next episode.

the production is superb!

the vfx when she hallucinates is superb! the visual fx team has done a great amount of job, I must stress.loving the storyline. Since there's a third wheel emerged in this episode, it'll be more amazing to see how two lovebirds become romantically close again.

plunges headfirst into tropes galore

- there's a way with dark humor. this is not the way.

- this series was touted as a rom-com. this is already headed towards makjang-land.

- the tropes. god, the tropes. for a show presented as subversive (reversed ml/fl roles, the abundance of dark humor), how many tropes is the scriptwriter going to cram into the story? we've got a terminal illness (a terminal illness in a rom-com? are we being serious right now?), something that smells like it'll develop into amnesia, a nascent love triangle with bad blood brewing, conniving side character who is constantly picking on fl for no ostensible reason, and fl being blamed for causing a family member's death hence her cold disposition and tense relations with her family. please for the love of god, pick a few elements and make the most of them instead of biting off more than you can chew. case in point: crash course in romance.

- and on an additional note, a minor complaint: resorting to lazy directing -- introducing 'english speaking' businesses as elite and grounds for proving your company's worth.

- the dark comedy is honestly off-putting at times. the direction did not pull this off. you're only left wondering why the hell the bgm was all playful when fl announced her terminal illness (and thinking it was a gimmick she pulled to make the ml stay -- which would've been a far better way to take the show imo), how the ml is actually rejoicing over the fl's 3-month countdown to death and what in the world is funny about it. the family conflicts are portrayed 'humorously' but again, it falls on its face with how none of it feels really funny. the wayward aunt angle is supremely out of place with the rest of the comedy, too, and feels like it serves no real purpose.

- the marriage angle. it definitely feels like the scriptwriter/director wants to showcase different marriages and their different dynamics, but most are hastily built and none feel established, not even our main couples'. perhaps not yet, but as of now, there is still no insight as to how the mains got to where they are right now. as such, it doesn't feel like there is a point to showing all the non-main couple relationships, because we're not even into marriage #1 and can't be bothered with the rest. there is zero nuance in the show's attempt to open up discussion about the concept of marriage.

- the characters. everyone except the mains are cardboard cutouts so far, or just not important or memorable enough. and for the fl -- she's set up as this cold, abrasive, super-capable CEO, but she has shown so many instances of unreasonable, ill-advised, or straight-up sloppy decision-making. (1) the demand in ep1 for her husband to disregard the threat of lawsuits to terminate contracts with underperforming contractors -- at least explain why the pros outweigh the cons? (2) the surprise when she learns her ex is a super important representative for the company she's hellbent on getting her hands on. and let's not talk about how she needed saving twice already in ep2? (1) in ep2 when she's meeting with important people from international businesses, she needed a husband to impress the dude (also lazy writing. why not have her defy expectations and prove herself without conforming to the company representative's wishes? that'd be great for character development ; and (2) the convenient onset of misty disease-caused disorientation and ml's timely save??i liked ep1 somewhat, but ep2 dived straight off a cliff and got me rethinking everything good about ep1.
