Don't waste your time!

If you like watching a woman be a doormat for an asshole husband, this is the drama for you! He mentally, verbally and physically abuses her over and over again, and we're supposed to like this guy and be happy for them at the end? In what bizarre universe?! Added to this abusive and toxic marriage is a bitchy sister who ML apparently 'loves' and an equally bitchy mom who is a really bad actress. I honestly don't know why anyone would want to watch a drama like this - yes, I watched it (a.k.a. having your finger on the 10 second fast forward button), hoping that at some point, FL would finally become the woman the WeTV description described her as. Nope. Never really happens in any satisfying way. Her actress friend is who her character should have resembled.

FL is just one stupid chick (or a masochist) to put up with this kind of treatment, and supposedly she's putting up with it because she loves ML. Honey, he ain't worth your love, and I have to question what kind of unhealthy love you have for this guy. The message this drama is putting out is terrible - it's basically saying to women - 'If you love a guy, hang in there! Put up with whatever abuse he wants to dish out because he'll eventually love you!' What a toxic message! No wonder we get so many C-dramas with obsessed crazy love rivals! Rarely does this kind of ending happen in real life - you just keep getting abused. It's really disgusting when she tells ML that she was happy while going through all this abuse because she loved him. What?! That's sick, just plain sick that a screenwriter would even write that kind of stuff. And supposedly ML secretly loved her all these years, and he had a 'hard' time loving her, like we're supposed to feel sympathy for him or something? That's a strange looking love, I must say - you love them so much you abuse them routinely and run out to marry another woman as soon as the ink is dry on the divorce papers.

This story could have been a lot better if they'd jump over the abuse portion and went straight to showing us a strong FL who's become successful and takes revenge on the husband and two bitches. Instead of this guy being ML, Xu Wei should have won the woman by showing her what a guy worthy of her love looks like. I don't care if it was all a misunderstanding or not, ML has no right to treat any woman, let alone his wife, like this. Heck, ML on the equally terrible 'Ex-Wife Stop' was better! At least, he wasn't blinded by love for the bitchy love rival and his behavior did improve once he realized what he'd lost.

The WeTV description on this drama was very misleading - I only started to watch because I thought she was going to be a strong FL. I had no idea that she was going be a doormat for 95% of the drama, nor that ML was romantically involved with the bitchy sister. They're also described as a 'lovely couple'. In what universe?!

Showing an Ugly Side of Society that is often overlooked !!

First, I would like to say that this mini-series is an adaptation. For people who don't like it, it's okay as most progressive societies have left such norms but the depiction of the abuse shown in the drama is very real in many countries. Salute to the author for daring to write it and the film studio for daring to show it as many societies still do have such issues.
Secondly, I agree that the story is extremely depressing, the pace is lacking (somewhere it was very slow and showed scenes that were not necessary and somewhere it completely skipped important details and scenes), the ending is totally BS (like what! especially how they just got together in the last minute) and there is absolutely no rewatch value. But it should not be judged purely on this basis. The actors did a great job in fulfilling their roles respectively. The soundtrack and music were also good for a short mini-series. The director did a splendid job on the project as well.

!! Spoiler Alert !!
Now I would do my best to explain some of the major issues that I believe are highlighted here:
1. The FL is very grateful to ML because of taking her in when she had no one to turn to. Thus becoming loyal to her (although this is wrong) in the process and accepting the abuse of ML. After all, he is the love of her life and she accepts and endures everything (again, this is wrong). You can feel the strong determination of ML when she says to her friend that she will make him fall in love with her.
2. Through the episodes we can see that ML starts to feel sorry for her (the scene when he eats what the FL had made for him, and also getting jealous when FL is with the other guy). This shows that ML wants to change but in my view, it is his pride that would not allow him to change how he treats her. You can see the conflict in his emotions when ML resigns and he signs it, and the same when she asks for the divorce and he accepts.
3. The nudge that made the FL take the bold steps of resigning and divorcing is due to help from her new friends. This shows how much good friendship is important and how it can give courage to a person to take that important step in life.

I usually avoid writing reviews but seeing all the negative reviews I thought it necessary to write this. Now enough rambling from me but I do hope that people would understand how real such things are in many societies.

senseless drama

i mean what the held . a boy loved a girl. The girl step sister's loved a boy . the girl did something and demean her sister's image in front of the boy and left the boy and eent to abroad . The boy always blame step sister for this and due to some circumstances he married to step sister and torture her everytime and like this one year passed . He kept on asking her to resign the job and divorce him but she never give divorce and keep on saying ,nothing wrong i had done so i would not give you divorce . This was keep happening and the girl had returned back in their life.Then he wanted her back in his life but step sister was not ready to divorce him . After sometime we came to know that the girl was villain , about this the boy came to know and he had fallen in love with the step sister. I mean what is this Please don't bother to watch this.

Good for sadomasochists....

Yes, this drama is good for sadomasochists. They
will enjoy a lot. I dont know if this wife behavior is normal or happen in married couples in China or this is merely fiction. I from outside feel shame for this character. This type of women doesn't deserve any respect if it happen in true life . From acting etc all is ok. Im not Chinese woman and I feel mad when they are portrayed that way. It is common to watch this type of character in " Asian dramas". Hey writers!, It is not a way to conquer a man. It is unworthy and all the similar adjectives that exist. Be more creative because you are responsible of how the audience look in general Chinese women.

A waste of time and data complete waste

When I started seeing the drama I thought the storyline will get better soon... But untill the end it became worst... The storyline is complete waste.. Don't know what the hell writer was thinking while writing story... The way he portrayed the women was frustrating..i am a man but I could still know that no woman would still be with such a man who torchered her so badly physically and mentally and also abused her to the extreme at every possible occasion... How could a woman get together with such such a man .it wasn't a Happy ending but the worst ending to be possible...
The drama has humiliated women and their pride and gratitude

If you are thinking to see it then behold your thoughts and feelings... It's just a waste of time and data...

Boring...

Short episode drama with only 4-5min long per episode. I hardly rate dramas that I don't like. So far, I have only rated the ones that I really liked and will rewatch. Compared to Ex-Wife Stop, this one was crazy boring. The story did not make sense at all. And I don't think there is music/song. I was skipping everything and was trying so hard to find the exciting part of the story but...nothing attracted me. Male and Female Leads were not fun to watch either, not my types I guess. And not much kissing (maybe none) and no bed scenes either. If you like short episode dramas with good kissing scenes, try Ex-Wife Stop. Sadly, this drama will be a waste of time.

Waist of time. Wish I had not watched it.

If you are into watching dramas we’re women would sacrifice their dignity for a man who abused them both verbally and physically then this is your show. As for me… nope! Not gonna happen! I could not wait to get it over with. Can’t believe I actually finished it.

Storyline - was choppy, poorly written, and just plain demeaning to women and to what love should be. The girl sacrifices her dignity because she has “loved” the ML for years. He hates her over the stupid manipulative half sister up until the last episode, then all of a sudden the FL grows some backbone and goes for him at the wedding of him and her HS. He never showed any feelings for her until she asked for the divorce (he looked and sounded like he was going to cry but agreed and walked away?)… but in the last episode when the FL crashed the wedding (thanks to the awesome actress friend, I liked her lol) the ML said he “secretly loved her for years but could not get her”!??? What? You had her for 23 episodes (1 year of marriage) and treated her like trash. Oh man I am sorry this was so freaking poorly written! I need to stop. It is not worth the 24/5min episodes!

Acting/Cast - I really believe they could have done better with a better script. But this hurt for me to really like them.

Side note here - sound was awful throughout the drama and I watched most of it on WeTV. On top of that… in the last episode… they needed to make the “video,” that was put up on the big screen showing the HS’s (half sister) true colors, sound loud so everyone could hear what was being said. It would have been a bit more believable.

Rewatch - not in this lifetime! I just can’t watch anything that has to do with a “50 shades of grey” spin-off. Not my type of show.

wasted time or not, it's up to you

First, the content itself does not make sense. If you want to prove your innocent, there is more than enduring humiliation from beginning to the end.

I thought she had to travel far away and come back confident to make her husband pay and marry the guy in the end because that is the final idea.

What is this abuse consecutive with no reactions? Any human being abused at one moment reacted anyway. Don't try to make us dream that way no no

I choose this because of every member effort otherwise I didn't like it but i didn't hate don't take on the other way.
