Sharp Suits

The camera loves Lee Jun Ho and he looks great in a suit. My kind of rom com tropes and all. I do however think it may become a wee bit dark as the eps progress.

Just watched this episode and these two are…

Just watched this episode and these two are giving Whats Wrong with Secretary Kim vibes. Their banter and her facial expressions at times just remind me of Park Min. Can't wait for the new episodes.

A Promising Journey Begins: "King Hotel" Sets the Stage for an Enticing KDrama Series

In the vast realm of KDramas, where tales of love, ambition, and personal growth intertwine, "King Hotel" emerges as a captivating addition to the genre. This Netflix-original series, which debuted yesterday on multiple streaming platforms, welcomes viewers into the enchanting realm of Seoul's finest hotel. While echoes of the Cinderella narrative resonate in the protagonist's initial struggles, "King Hotel" forges its own unique path, weaving together the stories of a young woman's ascent through adversity and a wealthy yet troubled male lead. With commendable performances and polished production values, this series holds the promise of delivering a gratifying viewing experience. From the outset, "King Hotel" effortlessly draws viewers into its world, beautifully showcasing the life of a young girl who, against all odds, secures a position in Seoul's prestigious King Hotel. As she navigates the challenges that confront her, our protagonist serves as a relatable figure, inspiring empathy and genuine interest. While the initial premise may echo familiar themes of societal disparity, it quickly becomes evident that "King Hotel" has much more to offer than a simplistic narrative of haves and have-nots.What sets this series apart is the depth of character development exhibited by both the female lead and her male counterpart. While the former battles her way through adversity with resilience and determination, the latter stands in stark contrast—a wealthy, yet arrogant and troubled individual. The series adeptly delves into the protagonist's familial struggles, hinting at the complexities arising from his mother's past entanglements. These narrative threads intertwine, creating a rich tapestry of human emotions that elevate "King Hotel" beyond the realm of clichéd storytelling. One cannot overlook the commendable performances showcased by the cast. The actors' portrayals breathe life into their characters, skillfully capturing their motivations and internal conflicts. Their chemistry and on-screen presence enhance the authenticity of the narrative, allowing viewers to become fully immersed in the unfolding drama. Accompanied by high production values, the visual aesthetics of "King Hotel" are equally praiseworthy. The meticulously crafted sets and stunning cinematography provide a feast for the eyes, transporting audiences into the opulent world of the hotel. While "King Hotel" exhibits many strengths, it does bear a familiar trope—a clash between the poor girl and the wealthy man, initially fraught with conflict, but likely to evolve into a romantic entanglement. However, it is essential to acknowledge that these early observations are based solely on the premiere episode. With a series of this nature, there is ample room for surprises and unexpected narrative developments. Thus, it is premature to dismiss "King Hotel" solely on the grounds of a seemingly predictable dynamic. The groundwork laid thus far hints at the potential for a compelling series that transcends initial impressions. In conclusion, "King Hotel" arrives on the KDrama scene as a promising series that captivates audiences from its opening moments. While initial comparisons to the Cinderella tale may arise, the show's narrative takes on a life of its own, exploring themes of personal growth, ambition, and family complexities. Bolstered by strong performances and exceptional production values, this series invites viewers to embark on a journey filled with intrigue, romance, and the timeless allure of Seoul's most esteemed hotel. With only the first episode released, "King Hotel" holds the promise of becoming an engaging series that stands out in the realm of KDrama storytelling.

Not another tropey start

Wasn't sure if I would like this with how the episode started with an overdone broken heel scene - along with other typical tropes rehashed time and time again. . . But that scene at the end of the ep was fall out of my seat laughing haahha!!!

Good Start

Till now the story is simple. Mostly it lays a good background of the characters and their relationships with the people around them. The ending was funny. Waiting for the next episode!
