Interesting

This was certainly worth the watch. It was realistic and entertaining. The main characters were terrific. I must also compliment the female character. There were no over the top theatrics. It was short but managed to pack a lot into six short episodes. I can’t even be mad at the e ending. I wish there would be a season 2. If not I still was satisfied with the exploration into love and sexual identity. Introducing lesbian parents was a different addition. I think it was handled well. The music was okay. It did enhance the story. Overall I enjoyed watching.

On Point!

I was not disappointed. I mainly watched for Can and Tin and it gave me everything I wanted. The other side couples were an added bonus especially the brother and his “secretary”. I will definitely watch it again. The music was nice. I love the video featuring the final song and all the couples plus Ae. I even like how it handled the AE situation at the very end. I love resolution so I was satisfied. The acting was solid. I like that Can’s naïveté and personality was kept intact. To me that is his charm. I think all the actors played their roles well. This is the kind of bl I personally enjoy.

Realistic

This was actually my first bl and I love it. It covers the challenges of being in a gay relationship in a thoughtful and realistic way. The use of humor does not diminish the narrative. The development of their relationship humanizes each one. This is not a fantasy. The problems they face are real. They have their flaws just like we all do. I found myself rooting for them to make it. The acting was awesome. I don’t think this bl gets the credit it should. Look beyond the obvious low budget and you have a real gem.

Superb❤️

This is one of the most heart wrenching and beautiful dramas I have viewed. It takes the bl genre to a new level. Every line , every frame is so powerful. The acting is beyond my wildest expectations. I felt every emotion. It is obvious that the writers wanted to explore the real issues faced by those struggling with their sexual identities. The confusion, the anguish, the denial, the rejection are all handled with such sensitivity. I applaud everyone who had any part in this magnificent production. It reminded me of former students I taught who struggled daily to fit in and be accepted. The cinematography was exemplary. The music outstanding. This was not wishful voyeurism or depicting the world as you would like it to be. This is depicting life as it really is even in a world where progress has been made concerning same sex relations. This is not just any bl. This is for anyone struggling with his/her identity. This is for anyone struggling with his/her feelings for someone else and not knowing what to do with those feelings. I can’t believe this was the first acting role for some of the actors. They were all amazing. I have rewatched this three times and downloaded the theme song. My only wish is that the upcoming sequel shows continued growth and acceptance in their relationship and refrain from the obligatory death at the end or having to choose family over love. I must add the supporting characters were awesome especially Bas and Tarn. I usually don’t like how females are portrayed in BLs but Tarn’s character was perfection. And I can’t say enough about Bas. This is real love, true friendship. Again I hope they don’t change their personalities in season 2. I like to see them evolve and grow as college students but that doesn’t mean they have to become mean or vindictive.

Awesome

I just love how the relationship between these two continues to evolve. It’s been a roller coaster of emotions but that’s how love is in real life. Arguments and disagreements don’t stop but if true love is there you somehow find a way to make it work. That’s what is so great about this story. They always find their way back to one another. I also like how new characters were introduced but old friendships still remained too. That is also very real to me. The music again carried over from the original. This was definitely worth the wait for me. I can’t wait to see the finale.

Awesome

From beginning to end I was captivated. Maybe because I’m older and I’ve lived long enough to know that we are perfectly imperfect. We have flaws. We make decisions that are irrevocable. Life is neither black or white. But the capacity to forgive is the driving force in this production. No frame was wasted. Each character presented a slice of reality. It was balanced with just the right amount of empathy. And how we can be affected by the rules of society is also depicted. I I loved the young characters so much. The music set the tone for each scene. I actually liked the ending. When I was much younger I questioned how people could forgive and seemingly forget past deceptions by those closest to them. So for me the ending was perfect. Though tempted neither gave in to lust. It is obvious that there are no other persons but each other in their hearts. Their focus is on making sure their son continues to love and respect each parent. Without a doubt they will always be in each other’s lives. The care and concern for one another will always be there. This too mirrors real life. I’ve seen couples who legally were apart but for the sake of family always were there for each other even to the point of death.

Entertaining

I really like this series. The story has an interesting twist at the end which I find encouraging for the bl genre. It’s good to see the writers go beyond the formula scripts. It was always interesting and I couldn’t wait for the next episode. The chemistry between the main couple was good.,there were several actors I recognize from other BLs and I was glad to see them once again. I will definitely watch this again. The balance between the serious and the comical worked for me. All in all I was very
pleased.

Exciting and Riveting

Each episode brings a new dynamic to the series. This episode is one of the most touching. Each character is dealing with deep personal issues. The graphics are so beautiful. More and more questions arise. Who is the real mole? How does the opera singer figure in with the case? Will anyone find true love? This is a beautiful production showing the Chinese culture. The music adds to the mystery. Seeing the opera reminds us that the men played the female roles. The actors are stunning. The lonliness of the characters plays so well as they try to live normal lives. This is a must watch series if you are interested in a love story set against a backdrop of corruption and betrayal. I also must commend the set designers and the costume designers. Impeccable and exquisite attention to style and detail. I wish Netflix or Vicki had picked this up .I
myself am not upset about the ending. In fact I have looked at it twice. Who would have thought that the craziest cop on the force would come through at the end and prove he’s no punk. I also loved that the last minutes of the last episode focused on just the two of them. That left no doubt about their relationship and their devotion to one another. And that last shot with he and the little girl holding the cat was enough for me. He is not alone. Even the ending with the beads was to me exquisite. This is worth watching again. The entire production team deserves praise. The music was perfect. Whether sad or happy it was
the perfect compliment to that scene.

Sweet

I really enjoyed watching this series. Technically it’s not classified as a bl but it has all the elements that make a bl. The two main characters are both males and complete opposites. Yet they complement one another perfectly. The storyline is simple but not childish. The supporting cast does a good job too. There is a definite message about family and friendship. The female friend was your typical type seen in most BLs....jealous,
mean and immature. However I really liked how
her character was handled by her friend and his
father. My only complaint was it was so short but
the good thing is I can rewatch it in one afternoon. Despite the censorship issues this country is moving in the right direction as far as
telling a good story in this genre.

Okay

I enjoyed the parts with the two leads very much but I found Pearl annoying. What is it with some BLs that there has to be an intrusive nosey ex-girlfriend now best friend. That is a real turn off for me. I like the concept of using the lockdown as a major part of the story. That does seem reasonable. I didn’t even know about zoom and FaceTime until the lockdown. So the interaction between the two leads is refreshing. Do writers feel there has to be a female best friend? Is this a requirement among gay males. Is this supposed to differentiate them from heterosexual males? The music was good. But again I just ignored the segments with Pearl. What guy who is interested in another person has his ex-girlfriend tagging along. The best friend/ex girlfriend was even in the last scene! Was this a bl or a throuple? There were some good scenes but the Pearl character was just too silly and unrealistic. For that reason I won’t watch this again.

A Different Perspective

It’s interesting and cute but I have seen a lot of BLs and this is nowhere near as good as I read. First are we supposed to believe that they only have female friends. The females are really annoying. It’s so stereotypical. I like the two main characters and I understand they have issues to resolve but I find the female characters to be intrusive. What female just walks into a persons apartment, sees one in just a towel and acts as if it’s nothing. my five and six year old grandchildren know that’s not acceptable. And the older sister seems to go crazy thinking about the two guys. Telling the guys to kiss. She’s a grown woman. Too neurotic for me. As I said it’s a nice story but not as entertaining as so many others. There is a message there but it’s not really dealt with until the last two episodes. I did like the ending and the scenes with the two main leads were terrific. Some of the narratives sounded like speeches. I have a brain . I can figure out the obstacles without you telling me...and that’s what actors convey in their gestures and interaction. The music is okay. There is no tune that actually stands out. It’s just ordinary background music. Again this bl presented a different perspective which is relevant. But I don’t get the intrusive sister role. Maybe it’s a
cultural thing . I was allowed to make my own decisions as were my siblings and cousins. Our parents were open with their opinions and offered advice but in the end we were allowed
to make our own choices. But we were also taught never to judge. The sister was just a turn
off for me. Her phony accent was so irritating. I
would have preferred she spoke in her native tongue. Overall I see the good intentions which
is why I didn’t give a higher score.

Uplifting

I have watched a lot of BLs and this is now one of my favorites...shows love comes in different forms. It depicts the way relationships evolve and I think it pulls no punches. It deals with very serious issues which some BLs avoid. I recognize certain actors from other BLs and can see the growth in their acting abilities. Also they don’t sugar coat the problems these couples will face. I don’t like cliffhangers and unresolved endings. This met my criteria for a good bl. I thought the transition from scene to scene was handled well too. The OST is amazing. I have looked at this bl three times and each time I observed how this bl tackled issues in a very respectful manner. I loved how the friends were there for one another during trying times and how they accepted each other, flaws and all. I think this bl has been underrated.

Amazing

This series just gets better and better. Once again the acting abilities of our two leads stand
out. Real issues are addressed in such a honest
manner. My heart cried out for Gene and Nubsib but it was made clear that all family members are affected. So far the writers have been right on point in how they have handled these issues
The music has added to the different scenes and
been added quality. The cinematography has also
reflected attention . This is an episode worth looking at again.

Encouraging

Here is a bl which tackles a storyline rarely depicted in this genre. How does societal views
influence the decisions made by members of the gay community? How does the pressure to be normal lead to deception and even more sorrow?
Lastly, what happens when the eventual truth
comes out and results in the breakdown in the
home, especially when a child is involved. All of these questions and more are carefully dealt
with and handled with sensitivity and sincerity.
The casting of the main couple and the rest of the
cast was excellent. The music set the right tone.
Even the custody trial lawyers introduced a
perspective that is rarely shown. This was a story
that needed to be told. The emotions seemed
natural and heartfelt.

Brutally Honest

This is my second time watching and I will probably watch again. What I liked most is how it portrayed people of different sexual orientations coexisting together. That’s how the world really is. We work together., frequent the same places, attend the same schools. Also, it may be hard to take but this bl doesn’t fall into the trap of romanticizing love and relationships. It can be hard and downright painful at times. But if it’s meant to be it will happen. I loved all the main actors. There was also a good balance of humor and drama. The music was good too. Overall, it held my interest throughout. I actually know of some males who were like Khai. If you are looking for realism in a bl this is it.
