Girl from nowhere? Nah
Before we start, yes there are indeed similarities between GFN and this drama however at the same they are quite different from one another in terms of plot. Each episode is a continuous storyline so not to worry about having a different plot in each episode.Story;
The story.., ah how to describe, I wouldn't say predictable but for me it lacked a little something but that's just my preference maybe because I have watched a lot of thrillers. Some scenes are creepy but nothing too heavy or any jump scares so don't be scared! It did feel very short though I hope they added some elements into it because It did make me want to watch the next episode immediately.
Acting;
Loved it. Nothing too much or unnatural, everyone played their part well.
Music;
I FUCKING LOVED THE TRACK
Incase anyone needs it, its 断面 by Dios.
Overall, just go for it. Its just 23 mins long, 7 episodes; good for a late night watch if you're bored.

Interesting, but a bit too short
Off the bat, I just want to mention Girl From Nowhere. I've only watched the first episode of GFN, but I will say that it is very similar to the 2nd episode of this drama.To be as vague as possible (because I think that's the best way to watch this drama), it follows a new girl at school who befriends two siblings (fraternal twins), and mysteriously, things start to go very weird. That's it. That's all you're getting. That's all you need.
The main three characters are all very distinct and interesting. The acting was also very good. And I appreciate that they're all very young actors (the actors playing students are nearly all under 19) which is refreshing and also fun.
There are some plot twists, and possibly red herrings (but it may be a stretch to label them as that). The only possible problem is the length. I do wonder what kinds of things could be added if they had chosen to extend to episode number, but I truthfully can't think of much. Maybe expand upon some plot reveals with more flashbacks in order to gain a better understanding of characters' emotions. Depending on who you ask, the length is either a good or bad thing. It was short and concise, and straight to the point. There was no fluff. The first 3 episodes involved some build up, but even then. they didn't drag. Once things were started to be revealed, the theme of the drama pretty much switched, and I was in disbelief until the end because I didn't know what to believe.
I do think that the title may give away one of the first plot twists (because yes, there are quite a few until the truth is actually revealed in the last episode). It's not listed on MDL as an alternative title, but the subber did translate the title which kind fo gives away an important reveal which takes place in the second half of the drama
All in all, it was a pretty decent drama. I don't think it built up the suspense perfectly, but I enjoyed it nonetheless, and I would't mind re-watching it?

Title says it all
Before we get into the series, we must mention the girl from nowhere, as earlier episodes actually gave those impressions, and even the main lead, Kiiritani San, had a similar haircut to GFN. The title of the series pretty much sums up the entire plot of the series.The first five episodes were filled with intriguing and mysterious elements. The mysterious aura surrounding Kiritani San can be felt simply by her image and attitude. I was irritated by the main lead actor, who jumps to conclusions based on shaky facts. Later episodes did seem rushed. The plot twist in episode 7 is a half-baked ending.
All that mysterious aura was given just to end up with a 6-year-old child's jealousy.
Overall, the series was enjoyable and brief. All of the actors who took part did an excellent job. One time watch is sufficient.

Stupid plot twist but quite good overall
The early episode are quite similar with Girl From Nowhere, and the fact that the main lead's hair is like Nanno's was not helping lol. Thankfully the story was moving to the bigger plot by the episode 3.The title of this series basically summarised the story plot. The story basically revolves around a cult leader's daughter who want to save her father. What I like about this series is how they make Kiritani to be so mysterious and manipulative, it's really hard to guess what her true motivation and intention were. However, the plot twist at the end was kinda dumb. It seems it was created just for a shock value without any logical thought behind it. It doesn't make sense to make a six year old child to be the true perpetrator. It would be more believable if they make Kiritani older when she did that. A six year old is too young to meditate a murder, let alone to successfully killed 20 women. From where a six year old child can obtain poison and understand what the effect of it. It would be make more sense if she did it accidentally, rather than because of jealousy. This plot twist felt like half baked because Kiritani is not a full blown psychotic character.
The other dumb thing is there was a witness who watch everything when she poured the poison. Like, why he did nothing and just watching it. If he didn't know she poured poison, they should make him to at least ask her what were she doing. The way that man just peaking behind a door but did nothing means he knew that Kiritani did something sketchy but choose to let it happen. That man was guilty as her accomplice and the twin should be mad at him lmao. Maybe because I often watch and read about detective and mystery kind of stories, it irks me so much that they didn't pay attention about these details. But overall I quite enjoy watching this series and I really like Kiritani Sara.

Broke My Slump!
As my headline states, this drama actually broke my months long drama slump and I am ecstatic about that! I kid you not - this is the first drama I've been able to sit and watch through to the very end in months. Hallelujah!So, anyway, I have not watched Girl from Nowhere, although I've seen enough mentions of it in other reviews and in the comment section to know they share some similarities. Because of that, I was able to enjoy this without comparing it to that drama. I do plan on watching that one next but my enjoyment of this drama wasn't colored by my feelings in any way.
I really enjoyed this drama. I can't stress enough how electrifying and dazzling the female lead is in this drama. She is incredibly compelling and entertaining to watch. I had fun watching her on my screen. The male lead was fine. I have no qualms about his performance; he did well with the material he was given but I was watching this drama for her, not him. Generally, I'm a heavy romance fan so I mostly watch romance dramas because I can't watch anything else because I lose interest quickly. However, I didn't have that problem with this drama. There's slight, very slight, romance but it's definitely not a drama centered around the romance by any means. Don't go into this one expecting that because you're not going to get it.
So, Kiritani Sara is my type of female character. I'm a SUCKER for manipulative, deceptive, calculating, intelligent female characters who are always four steps ahead of everyone else. She ran circles around everyone in this drama without breaking a sweat and I love that. In the end, she got the last laugh. Literally. Even in death (yes, she dies!), she's still fully in control of the narrative that suits her sensibilities. She got her revenge because the male lead will go to prison for the rest of his life. She destroyed his family like she accused his father of doing hers.
The one pet peeve I did have is the gaping plot inconsistency of a 6 year old being cognizant enough to resort to murder. She's not old enough to understand death nor should she be old enough to know which poison is fatal enough to mass murder 20 people at once. She may feel jealousy but not anything else. That's the one thing that made no sense to me.
All in all, I highly recommend this one. It's short and sweet. The plot doesn't drag and you don't have to watch a drama that should have ended 10 episodes ago that refuses to die. Give it a shot!

Ok
It's a short drama, with an interesting story, even though I've seen similar dramas before. Was the drama something special? Not really, but still interesting to watch.The main actress was very good and played her role nicely. The other actors made an effort, although I didn't think Yuda Kazuma was that good. He seems way too awkward and in my opinion he didn't act that well. But you can look past this flaw.
It is still a good drama that you can watch in the meantime. The story is not too complex. Some plot twists that I liked. This drama is definitely worth watching.

Bentuk cerita Nano ; tapi bukan Nano
Was this review helpful to you?
