A fantasy film based on a true story about a boy who comes of age and the sea turtle legend passed down at Kajima Harbor in Ibaraki Prefecture. Kajima Harbor is bustling in Japan's period of rapid economic growth. Goro's father Genji is a fisherman with an old-fashioned temperament who dies in a boat accident. Goro is confounded when told that his father died because he crushed the egg of a sea turtle, the protective deity for fishermen.
