Onuki Dai struggles as a streetside antique dealer working at different markets. His day-to-day life is scraping by on a few sales of nostalgia-inducing items, fending off the advances of his landlady, a woman abused by her husband, and trying to advance his career. He gets a chance to move up when he catches the eye of a nurse and also when a veteran antique dealer named Kunio asks him to take part in an auction at an old mansion deep in the mountains. But, it all ends violently and Dai finds himself transported to another world, a tour of hell that reveals many sights from the spiritual and real world.
