Shameless exploitation of BL audience to promote a music career.

It's a good thing Pete can sing, because if he had to fall back on his acting skills he'd starve to death. He doesn't really act at all. He does appear to have memorized his lines, though, so there's that. Tonliew is adorable as Yoshi, and that's largely why I stayed with this.

The plot is stock - a standoffish star ends up as the temporary charge of our main character, who has to navigate his star through a maze of ill-wishers including the usual malicious ladyboy, which is becoming such an offensive stereotype that I'm going to start boycotting series with characters like this, and also a cartoonishly evil rival actor - you may not be able to spot him. (Hint: he's the one wearing all black at a Thai beach resort).

I can't recommend this, but it's so short that it won't hurt you to watch it.

beachy vibe with lackluster plot

Overall: reminds me of Even Sun with a weak plot, attractive guys and a nice beach location. Something to just watch and shut your brain off. Aired on WeTV.

What I Liked
- I smiled at a few parts
- realistic that there was a room at the same place they were staying and then an actual logical reason for there only being one bed in that room
- a character actually washed his hands (and Yoshi is cute)
- some sweet moments
- that a character actually noticed the suspicious guy and they had a plan in episode 6
- Tonliew did a good job and hope to see him in another series

Room For Improvement
- maybe it was mistranslated, Putter is supposed to be a super famous celebrity, but he travels without anyone? Some random dude becomes his manager?
- not a fan of the power imbalance/manipulation
- poor communication between the m/m leads
- lack of chemistry
- yet another terrible "plan" (from Putter)
- the effeminate guy is positioned to be a villain
- low budget/experience production, an example is during the bridal carry there were only close up shots instead of a much needed full body shot
- the wound of the foot changed location
- the lack of consequences and cliche 'they learned their lesson' nonsense

Eh

I think someone said it already, but yes, the highlight of this series was the height difference, and yes, I am that shallow. I'm not going to harp on this series too much because it obviously didn't have a big budget, nor did it have credible actors. But for what it's worth, I think it actually wasn't that bad for the budget it was given.

Let's Dive In.

The premise of the show is decent. It's actually pretty well thought out and somewhat original. It takes itself off coarse many times due to the lack of a coherent script and actors who can dish it out. But again, for what it's worth, it's not that bad.

The romance is eh. Their height difference carried me to the end for sure. I did enjoy their little face-painting thing, and the interview at the end was cute. Outside of those moments, everything else was okay. Pete's acting is stale and Tonliew's is mediocre. They have zero connection, and only a pinch of chemistry at the end.

Ratings:

Story: 6/10 - Okay. Good in some parts and bad in others.

Acting: 7/10 - Eh. They were new actors so I'll give them some leeway, but I've seen better. Tonliew was probably their strongest actor.

Music: 5/10 - I don't remember.

Rewatch Value: 2/10 - Maybe any time Putter is looming over Yoshi like a tower. Other than that, probably not.

Sweet and adorable

This is a cute, fluffy, feel-good series. It was simple but actually had a plot. Watching this was a great way to break up the heavy and drama-filled shows that I watch on a weekly basis. The whole series is short and I watched the whole thing randomly throughout the day when I had time. I was surprised that some of the acting was actually really good, and the scenery was beautiful.

This series gets lower ratings than I think it should. Maybe I'm just easy to please. But it exceeded my expectations and gave me the healing that I was in need of.

Cute Fluffy Goodness

This is a super cute BL to watch that doesn't deserve all the hate it gets. If the series was more than 7 episodes I would have more expectations for a deeper plot with more character development. Also, this series is nothing like Even Sun, which was too much of a mess to enjoy for it's fluffiness.

Hard Love Mission was well-acted with a happy-ending. The leads are adorable, especially Yoshi. The MLs did a great job of portraying mutual attraction as it developed and didn't overact in their scenes together. It's refreshing to see a BL that doesn't rely on gay panic to tell it's story. The mature, relaxed portrayal of two young men falling for each other seems to be too boring for some viewers, but it works well with the short run-time.

If you want to relax with a cute, fluffy BL, I highly recommend Hard Love Mission.

Mediocre acting over an even mediocre story

Although this is a mini series and a lot of plot has to be cut to fit in within the 7 short episodes, but it looks like no time was spent on the script. For the first 5 episodes nothing interesting happens as the characters move from one scene to another

The 5th episode ends on something interesting but again it falls in to the uninteresting area for the last 2 episodes. Especially the last episode is nothing but a major dump of back story but by this time I have already given up and just want this to end.

Pete has still a long way to go to be a good actor and Tonliew (Yoshi) and Chompu (Vivi) were the only saving grace. This is one BL that I am sure I will forget soon. Give this one a pass or you can keep this running in the background while you complete some chores.
