Where's the story?

I watched it kind of knowing I wouldn't really enjoy it based on my impression of season 1.

The main problem is that it looks like a Wattpad fanfiction. There's no real story, no real conflict, no real problems. All the hurdles are overcome quite easily, the four episodes are mostly composed of a mix of fluffy moments that don't make a story.
Kuea is still an annoying baby with Li (and I can't f-ing stand it), Hia Yi is still a controlling freak and KonDiao is... alright. Lian is quite sweet, and really understanding toward Kuea's choices, so that's refreshing.

The other relationships don't really move forward as well so there's no progress (I know they want to make a drama series based on Kondiao and Hia Yi so this explains that) however, like many other viewers I think, I did appreciate the Syn-Nuer moments but aside from that... there are not many redeeming qualities.

It's quite short and quite poor so it's hard to go further than that in my analysis of this series.

If you are a Cutie Pie/ ZeeNew fan, then this series is for you. If you're like me, then it's not

The thing with me and sequels/ special episodes from a previous series is that it never ever lives up to the predecessor and thus, gets a lower score from me. And this is the case with 'Cutie Pie 2 You'.

Story-6/10
I can't really say that there isn't a plot because the plot is Kura and Lian finally got married. Episodes 1 to 3 were episodes leading up to thier big day- marriage. But what got to me is thier urgency of getting married and then Kura going off to South Korea to start living his dream as the singer Kirin, leaving his new husband back home in Thailand. I honestly wanted to know why they had to get married so quickly if they were basically going to have a long distance relationship. I mean I get that they love each other so much- it just did not make any sense to me.

These special episodes actually shocked me due to the fact that the two supporting male couples actually stole the series from the MC. And that shocked me as I really wasn't that invested in Khondiao and Yi in 'Cutie Pie ' as I was here. I also adore seeing what little development of Neur and Syn's relationship (believe me, it was little). For that, I am giving a 6.

Acting/ Cast- 7.5/10
As stated above, the actors who played Neur, Syn, Yi and Khondiao played thier characters well as I was actually invested in them when I saw them on the screen. I would even say that Zee's character was also okay. New's character- not so much. I felt that he somehow got more annoying this part. So for that, I will give a 7.5.

Music-8/10
The music was bopping in the first season and it's still bopping here. So, for that I will give an 8.

Rewatch Valu-3/10
Unfortunately, I felt like this was a waste of my time. I also felt that this was unnecessarily dragged out to four episodes, which could have been told in less. As such, I am giving a 3.

Overall-6/10
Overall, I must say that it was nice to see the supporting characters again. But Kura is still annoying as ever and Lian basically will still do anything for him.

It took me a while to finally clear my mind about these four special episodes, but I realized that it is now or never. Many people thought these episodes were just a nice but unnecessary ending, which can be true depending on what you were looking for, but I don’t think they were completely useless. It was in my opinion a nice way to see how things evolved between Lian and Kuea, because even though at a first glance many thought that in the year we haven’t seen them nothing has changed, but it is not like this. Watching this story told in such a light and funny, it is easy to forget that their situation was incredibly fucked up and the first season was an incredible journey for them to realize that. This “second season” is what happens when you realize that your situation was fucked up and you are doing your best to change it and make it better. Changes doesn’t happen overnight! They are still going to fuck things up from time to time and slip back in past behavior, but with the newly acquired knowledge they can recognize it and take a step beck to chang things. Kuea has spent his entire life hiding things so it is normal for it to be his default course of action, but it took him only an episode to have this thought process and talk to Lian about his future. Lian too still think he has to be perfect to deserve what he has with Kuea, but this is not what Kuea want and to some extent this is not what Lian want as well. They obviously love each other very much, but love can’t solve things. It can be a motivation to take action and find a way to solve the things, but it is not enough to change things on its own. Also I think that other relationships as well changed and matured. Like Nuer and Kuea becoming besties! We see very little of Diao and Yi, but I’m sure that was because they are going to get their own series soon. I think it was overall a nice and interesting ending for this story, an hopeful one too!

Cute sequel to Cutie Pie, mostly enjoyable fluff because why not ^^

This special drama composed of 4 episodes of about 45 minutes is an enjoyable sequel to Cutie Pie. This sequel is clearly in line with its parent series, with the show focusing on the topic of the marriage of its main pairing (Kuea x Lian) as well as shedding some lights on the relationship of the secondary couples (Khondiao x Yi and Nuer x Syn).

I appreciated the fact that the 4 episodes put together provide a satisfactory marriage narrative arc and a proper conclusion to the love story of Kuea and his Hia Lian. I enjoyed a lot the overall cuteness of the cast with the three couple pairings having all their little quirks and silliness as well as romantic and sexy times.

Is it the most deep, meaningful and intelligent script ever written ? For sure, no. Is there still some aspects of the various relationships that are unhealthy ? Yep...but there is improvement. Is it a bit heavy on the slapstick with some eyes-raising narrative choices ? Yes again... But is it entertaining and enjoyable with some hot moments ? Totally !

It is fluffy, it has little angst and the stakes are kind of low because you know that it is going to end well. The comedy aspect was a bit over the top with the acting and everything: but it is quite comparable to the previous series. There are no huge improvement on the acting, it is overall suitable with some miss in the most emotional moments as well as some stiffness. The chemistry and the kissing scenes are very good though.

Regarding the production value, nothing outstanding to be noted. I love Nunew's singing and I like therefore a lot the OST and the scenes which showcased his talents.

I would recommend this to people that enjoyed Cutie Pie, do not expect a lot suspense or intensity, but enjoy the fluff and the fanservice.

Less problematic and more adorable

After the success of the first Cutie Pie, I worried that a second season would be more of the same (misunderstandings and imbalance of power in their relationship) but Kuea and Lian were adorable and equal in this short 4 episode season. They handle difficulties as a couple and make decisions together. They worry for and rely on each other and they talk to each other. It was such a huge step up from the last season in terms of relationship credibility that I was astonished. It didn’t go outside the bounds of just preparing for their wedding and Kuea’s job choice, but it really was a huge step up from where we left their relationship last time. The couple was still absolutely adorable and with the change in their relationship to a point of what appears to be equality and respect, I would say this is one of the best 4 BL episodes I have seen.

ZeeNuNew is obviously one of the top BL couple's of all time! And the cutest couple in real life!

We got ZeeNuNew the cutest couple in the world, and the chemistry between Zee & NuNew is soooo good! For this to be NuNew's First ever BL am beyond shocked of how good he is at portraying the emotions of his character. And to have Zee to do all of this whit must be the best feeling ever! And me like everyone else who have watched Cutie Pie became a ZonZon fan. and might or might not be watching tooo many compilation's a day!

But let's just pretend that this couple dont just make us depreesed single people feel soo lonly and broke at the same time And if you have not watched heard of Cutie Pie 1&2 or Zee and NuNew idk where tf you have been or on what new undiscovered planet? But you need to watch it if you haven't done so yet.

And yee i might have just been hyping this one up cuss i love it! So just watch it and make your own conclusion. And if you dont like it well to bad sunds like a you problem!

XoXo

It wasn’t necessary, but helped complete the series

I do feel that a season two of cutie pie wasn’t to necessary, but it was nice to see what happened to all the characters after the show ended and were all the story’s are currently at. I will again say that there may be spoilers so just warning you. The show started at Kueas graduation which also means it’s Syn’s and Nuer’s grad also. Kuea and Hia Lian’s story continues after their proposal and are supposed to get married in this show and it basically started to show them with a steamy scene at the very beginning and before Lian stopped them from continuing Kuea said the weirdly line I’ve ever heard before which was “Hia, are we going to meow.” And I will say I bursted out laughing at that comment. Next, it showed their wedding which was on the beach which is what they had planned, but both Khondiao and Hia Yi lost the wedding rings because they dropped them from trying to run from the storm that was happening on THEIR WEDDING DAY, which I feel must be the worst feeling ever when a storm ruins your wedding day so both Kuea and Lian got stressed about it, but luckily jay found the rings and became a priest that day and they had two more steamy scene one in their room and one on the beach and after that they had their wedding and I’m pretty sure Khondiao got the bouquet, also Kuea debuted in Korea as a singer so he cant really hang with his husband as much as normal, but Lian did watch his showcase and surprised him and Kuea and Lian lived happily ever after.
Khondiao and Hia Yi didn’t really show up in this 4 episode series, but the times they showed up they were adorable together, but I know Naughty babe is their next series after this which shows them in their more than in this 4 ep show.
Syn and Nuer actually had a whole lot developed in their relationship in just 4 eps they finally got to reunite at a party and I swear Syn becomes so baby girl like when he’s around Nuer and I know for sure Nuer likes it also. They had one steamy scene, but kind of was a disaster because they both wanted it, but Syn doesn’t know how to do it so Nuer was basically his teacher, but they had to stop because each time Syn would just be hurting Nuer because he doesn’t know how to do it even when they kissed Syn just bit his lips so they had to literally stop before Nuer won’t have anymore lips. Also they had one problem which was Syn wants to become a Monk I’m pretty sure, but the problem is that they can’t date anyone so basically Nuer and Syn have to break up in order for Syn to become one, but they took a long time to decide. And they don’t really get a second show like Khondiao and Hia Yi, but I think it’s better because I don’t want their storyline to be ruined.
I also recommend this one because it basically helps finishes cutie pie.

Was it too short or was there too much happening?

My feelings over this special are conflicted. It’s like they tried to make a season 2, but didn’t really know what to do, so they made a short series and slapped a “special” label on to it. But at the same time, they tried to cram a ton of stuff into it – the internship, the wedding, the idol thing. It was just too much going on for the four episodes that it had.

I also feel like they did Nuer and Syn dirty. Their scene shouldn’t have been used as a comic relief scene. I think the two are adorable and probably have the healthiest relationship out of all the couples from the Cutie Pie franchise. Their scene had a lot of potential, it could have been really sweet and fluffy. But no, they decided to make fun of Syn’s inexperience when it comes to intimacy. Which is a shame.

I was not happy with how Lian was handling Kuea’s request to wait for the wedding night. I don’t really get Kuea’s thinking as the two have been together before, but that doesn’t mean that his decision is something that doesn’t have to be respected. Lian was pushy on the issue, and I didn’t really like that. At least they learned to somehow communicate about things. They still needed some help, but progress is progress.

We don’t really get to see any progress in Hia Yi and Diao’s relationship, but that was kind of expected as the two are getting their own series. Hopefully, we got to learn more about their past. But that’s me going off-topic already.

I think this had a lot of potential, but the execution was not the best. They should either only focus on the wedding part or made it longer to really develop everything else they tried to include.

Better than Cutie Pie!

Personally, I didn't like Cutie Pie. I thought the only good thing about that series was ZeeNu's chemistry. The plot was bad, let's be honest, and most people probably only watched it for the 18+ scenes. However, Cutie Pie 2 was honestly way better than I expected it to be. Still not a favorite of mine, but the conflicts were much more enjoyable than whatever happened in the first season. If you enjoyed Cutie Pie, you'd definitely like this. And if you're like me and just barely managed to get through the first season, you might still enjoy this if you liked Zee and Nunew.

I'm not gonna lie that was a complete waste of my time lol

I don't want to be rude cause the show wasn't bad or anything but I'm not gonna lie that was a complete waste of my time lol. The story wasn't anything new or special and the music is mostly if not the exact same from the series.

Everything was cute and romantic of course, it's a wedding based on a love story but missing this will literally not change your life, its for fans of cutie pie only and I'm clearly not one.

The first two episodes were unnecessary and irrelevant then the third was only good cause of the assistants which are a very funny and cute couple and Syn and Nuer who I love if I wasn't a fan it would also be unnecessary. Of course it had its good scenes but those plus the last episode could be put together to be a 1hr and 30mins movie, the drama and build up was really not needed!!

I would definetly rewatch episode 3 for Syn and his partner cause I love them and it makes me so curious about them, I wish I could find out more about their backgrounds !They have so much potential!

It could have been better

I really loved this story, vut the ending was a bit too much for me. In a way, it felt like running around the same idea over and over. Also, I felt like Hia was way moe emotional and cared more about his partner, compared to what he was receiving. It was just looking a bit unbalanced.

I wasn't really expecting a Season 2 of Cutiepie series, but we got it. This series seriously could've been summarised into one special episode but they decided to drag it out into four episodes??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️
I love how they gave Syn and Nuer more screen time on their love story...even though it wasn't still enough??‍♀️
I applaud Nunew and Zee for their acting skills(to the point that it felt so real???) Their chemistry really was off the charts?❤️
Expected more for Nat and Max's love story but it's still okay...
Anyways in all, I actually liked Cutiepie series, and S2 wasn't bad, so yeah. I give it a thumbs up ??
