A quirky storyline and cute moments. Also the OST continues to be played.
But with most kdramas, the plot fades in parts, and doesn't have the Hollywood factor I am used to watching.
Overall I am glad to have hopped on the bandwagon, and have happy feelings towards such a cute couple!

I think this drama is pretty overrated, mainly because of the top stars in this drama and popularity of it because otherwise, I don't see a basis for this 8.9 rating. Personally, I love Kim Soo Hyun -he's one of my favorite actors- but for some reason this drama just didn't cut it for me.
This drama had a lot of potential but it kind of just went all over the place. There's a lot of genres and different mysteries throughout, which is what brought this drama down. The genres ranged from historical/saeguk genre dating back to the Joseon years to modern 20th century top-star actors to family drama to crazy messed up crime to magic sci-fi to comedy to conglomerate businesses. I like all of these genres, but when they are combined, it just doesn't work out. Like one moment you'd be watching middle-aged scholars write historical books in the 1600's and the next moment you'd be brought into reality when a top star actress is being arrogant and demands to be escorted at every second.
I loved the sci-fi theme about how Do Min Joon was an 'alien' and had special superpowers, and I think if the story just focused on this, it would have had so much more potential and still have been very interesting. But when they brought in egocentric film industry characters and psychopathic serial killers, it really made the story all over the place. Sometimes, it even felt like Do Min Joon's powers were just a side story because it focused so much on solving the murder crimes committed by Lee Jae Kyung (who was a complete psycho btw, and everytime he came on the screen, I just wanted to scream).
Do Min Joon, however, was an amazing character and I loved his personality. Deep down, he is a very kind person that is loyal and will sacrifice his life protecting others. His awesome alien capabilities made him all the more cool and I wish I could do those things like teleport lmao. Kim Soo Hyun being cast as him was a great choice, but I wish I could say the same for Jun Ji Hyun. Her character was someone that was spoiled, bratty, and arrogant af considering she plays a topstar actress. Sometimes I wish someone else was cast because she is considerably older than Do Min Joon. However, after her career went downhill, you can see that she is actually someone pretty cute with a lot aegyo, especially when she starts to realize that she likes Do Min Joon, and I thought it was very cute when she got clingy to him. Even though she seems like she has everything in the eyes of others, she really doesn't.
Cheon Song Yi's brother was hilarious. At first, he was portrayed as someone very arrogant, and I was like...? what's his purpose in this drama; but, especially after seeing his interactions with Do Min Joon his character took a complete reversal and he was really funny. Also considering the fact that Ahn Jae Hyung plays a high school student even though he is older Do Min Joon is also pretty funny. That E.T. moment though (replayed that like 10 times xD)
Okay moving on to some other characters. Hee Kyung go really annoying sometimes and it got on my nerves, but I liked him better towards the end when he realized what his brother was doing bc he was pretty smart about it. Also, his obsession towards Song Yi was kinda creepy, like no offense but an enlarged picture of her on your bedroom wall?? Okay sorry. Anyways, I also liked Yoo Se Mi's brother, the prosecutor, because he was pretty smart yet still handsome!
The music was nice, but not amazing. There's of course the infamous 'My Destiny' song which I like, but has been overplayed so much that I kind of don't like it anymore lol.
Overall, this drama was okay, but just could have been so much better! Just the plot had so many categories that it just couldn't concentrate on one thing to make it better. However, this may be a good drama to watch if you are new to kdramas!

romance that transcends centuries and the longing that spans light-years apart
This drama truly deserves every bit of its massive fan following and even more. It's hands down one of the most beautifully crafted stories out there. Why I liked it:
1. Captivating plot: It maintains a steady momentum, with only a few lows but significantly more highs.
2. Outstanding cast: Kim Soo Hyun is an exceptional talent—words can't fully capture how phenomenal he is as an actor. While I'm not necessarily a fan of Jun Ji Hyun, I still enjoyed watching her performance. The rest of the cast was equally impressive.
3. A unique ending: Some might find the ending unsatisfactory, but I personally enjoyed it. Having read several stories with similar conclusions, like Gakuen Alice, I used to find such endings disheartening. However, over the years, I've matured to appreciate the depth of bittersweet conclusions. That said, I can’t deny that a part of me still wished for a more satisfying closure for the main characters.
4. A timeless love story: The romance that transcends centuries and the longing that spans light-years apart was incredibly moving.
5. The comedic relief: The humor added a sparkle to the parts where the story momentarily lost its momentum.
Areas where the story could have been improved:
1. Vague time-travel mechanism: There's little explanation of how he plans to travel back. Like, okay, here's a comet... now what? Am I supposed to throw a rope around it or just stand in front of it? At least provide some clarity!
2. Weak investigative elements: The writer seems to have limited knowledge of prosecution and detective work. The investigation scenes came off as lackluster.
3. A poorly developed female lead: The female protagonist's character felt weak and somewhat irrelevant. She didn’t contribute significantly to the story from start to finish.
4. Boring flashbacks: The scenes set in the past were quite tedious. I initially watched a few but soon realized they didn’t add much value to the plot, so I skipped them.
Lastly, the background music was delightful. Every time I rewatch this drama, its soundtrack keeps playing in my head for days afterward.

i really liked this drama inspite of having many comments on it but still loved
it's cute, funny, made you feel warm many times and fluffy
what bothered me.. the angle of the camera wasn't good many times at the FL's shots
the ML many times missed the right reaction which suits the situation in my opinion but still ok
i should salute (Sung Rok) so much for his role
he is a great actor he made me hated him so much
and what i dislike about his end that his father didn't slap him at the prison .. LOL
i'm sorry but he deserved it much, many times i wanted to get inside the screen and slap him by myself
what i dislike about this drama
the fantasy part i found it illogical
first the ML his senses should be more ×7 times from ours so i found him stupid many times and his intelligence was so normal & many times (Sung Rok) was more intelligent than him
second what i knew that aliens aren't restricted by time or asteroids
so from what he said that his people down to earth many times
why he can't do that except every 400 yrs ??
high clap for (yoo in ah) she is a great actor
she is the first angel B***H i ever seen in Korean dramas
i hated her till the end
at the begging i was sympathized with her till she reveals her real face
she is not an unconditionally loving person as she appears and she is full of envy
blaming her friend about something out of their hands is totally weakness and stupidity
she accepted to be as a quite shadow and hiding behind her friend instead of struggling for her career
so why she is blaming her
i hate that kind of persons the (QUIET EVIL ) ones
and the FL's mom was a real huge B**** till the end i hated her
she is like the leech
very selfish and disgusting
and i loved the lawyer and the prosecutor so much ^_^
WHAT I WISHED FOR THIS DRAMA REALLY
the story should be a realistic one instead of fantasy one
it would be amazing if it was
but as i said before , i still loved so much

By episode 5 i was hooked and I found myself staying up until 1 am watching because I was so excited for each episode. The story is pretty good, the characters are quite different to what you might expect of a normal Kdrama. The Lead girl however, is COMPLETELY different. I disliked her at first but soon came to love her interactions with the lead guy. I also have to say the supporting characters were really well thought out too. I especially loved the younger brother, played by Ahn Jae Hyun (a beautiful person btw) his character was really quirky and his interactions with Do Min Joon were hilarious.
The music fit well with the drama and a few songs were played so often that you could sing along with them nearer the end. I would totally come back to this drama and watch it again once i've cleared through my long list of planning to watch!
Overall, I really loved the drama, it made me laugh, cry and everything in between, I wholeheartedly recommend this drama to romance lovers!

Great chemistry!
Even though this drama came out in 2013 I am so glad it is still available for viewing. I discovered KDramas after I retired in 2021 and have become enamored with them and binge watch all the time. I have watched My Love from the Star for the second time and still love it. It is funny, romantic and I shed some tears in the later episodes. I have definitely become a fan of Kim Soo Huyn. He is just so adorable with a positive infectious energy through his smile.Jun Ji Hyun was perfect for this role. I always love the characters she plays. They both performed their roles displaying such great chemistry. Thank you for the happy ending, I still feel the heartbreaking moments thru their acting even though I have watched it more than once. Thank you for the hard work. I will keep watching out for these two actors in new roles.

The main couple have great chemistry and the rest of the cast was overall well chosen.
We didn't have much information of certain characters that i did wish to know but that didn't really mess with the story or anything like that.
There was quite a bit of character development.
What I most liked about the show, is that it was funny and relatable at times. This is one of my favourites kdramas, because of this show I've started to like kdramas.
I've rewatched a couple times and will probably rewatch again soon.

Watch Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun Shine!
The two leads (Jun Ji Hyun) and (Kim Soo Hyun) really keep this series afloat with their dynamic performances. There are a number of flaws and inconsistencies in the series, especially with the depictions of Do Min Joon as the alien who has been living in Korea for 400 years.Do Min Joon seems to be a cross between E.T. and Superman in the sense that he seems to have been left behind and won’t be able to return home until our current time. He’s used a number of different identities, systematically “killing off” previous ones so as to not arouse suspicion that he’s an ageless alien living among humans. He’s also a bit like Superman in the sense that he has enhanced strength, speed, and hearing as well as the ability to stop time. With only three months left, he finds his abilities are becoming more unpredictable.
What is interesting about Do Min Joon, is that he appears to be a rather primitive alien in the sense that he’s not very long on wisdom. For a species that has mastered space travel as well as time manipulation, he doesn’t have much wisdom to share in how to live, thus demonstrating that his species is not very evolved. Do Min Joon is a bit temperamental, doesn’t like to be touched, and has some serious trust issues. In other words, he doesn’t trust anyone or find the need to do so.
Enter Cheon Song Yi, arguably the most popular actress in Korea, and she knows it. I lost count how many times she says to someone, “I’m Cheon Song Yi!” as if her very name demands attention, respect, and immediate capitulation to any request that she makes. She’s spoiled, conceited, immature, a bit dimwitted, and yet, she is also incredibly captivating and loves with all of her heart. It cannot be understated how well Jun Ji Hyun plays this part. To take a character with so many unappealing characteristics and to make that character so appealing and likable demonstrates Jun Ji Hyun’s mastery. Cheon Song Yi is also a horrendous tease! Lee Hui Kyung is the son of a powerfully rich family and a long childhood friend who’s had eyes for nobody by Cheon Song Yi. And yet, despite not having any feelings for him, she strings him along because she simply loves the attention. She also has a gold digger for a mother who mooches off her wealth, believing that her daughter owes her everything. I can’t imagine a worse person for a parent. Parents who treat their children like property and commodities aren’t parents at all. They’re parasites.
Most of the series is spent with Cheon Song Yi and Do Min Joon teasing and dancing around each other, obvious that they like each other. Do Min Joon acts as though he could care less and finds Cheon Song Yi annoying. They end up neighbors, each living in massive penthouses. Cheon Song Yi finds Do Min Joon cold and aloof, but as someone who demands and commands attention from everyone, she initially sets out to find a way to get Do Min Joon’s.
Now, Do Min Joon does have a viable reason for not getting romantically involved. Well, he has a couple of reasons. First, he’s leaving in three months, so what’s the point of getting into a relationship? And second, his body chemistry prevents him from prolonged physical touching, especially kissing which incapacitates him to the point of a high fever and requires long periods of time to recover. In that sense, they are incompatible.
The charm of the series is watching these two beloved characters figure out a way to acquire the courage to simply confess their feelings for each other before it’s too late. And the chemistry between Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun is undeniable as well as being the central reason why the series works.
On a less effective side story, we have the brother of Lee Hui Kyung as a very bland and uninteresting sociopath who has a long history of murdering anyone who stands in his way. Actor Shin Sung Rok was the least impressive to me of the mostly talented cast. His portrayal just as no flavor or uniqueness to it. He’s almost robotic and wooden that it nearly ruins the character. Seeing him and Do Min Joon has an ironic similarity to Superman and Lex Luthor. In fact, I wondered if they were the inspiration for this rivalry.
The series is heartwarming and has some very humorous moments. As with so many K-Dramas, it also has some tender moments that might tug at your heartstrings. Actress Jun Ji Hyun really sells us the last couple of episodes when Cheon Song Yi realizes that she’s likely to lose the love of her life, and how devastating that blow is to her, even when she knows it’s coming.
Overall, this is actually a very good series that rests upon the strength of its two lead actors. The story, especially when Do Min Joon is suddenly “found out” borders on the ludicrous. Scientists from around the world would have converged on Korea in a heartbeat to find out more about him. Sometimes, the writers fail to fully consider the ramifications of such a ploy rather than simply find an easier out. But fortunately, this doesn’t do too much damage to the story. Sometimes, charm and sweetness can outweigh the rational and the obvious, which isn’t always a bad thing.
