I absolutely loved this drama, I was so addicted to it and cried a couple of times.

Honestly this feels like the perfect drama, I got so emotionally involved and I loved the supernatural side to this romance as well. Literally star crossed lovers.

My only thing I can nitpick at with the story, which I even feel bad about doing, is that really it went into no depth about Do Min Joon's planet or family or anything really. It only went into detail about his superpowers and his feelings on Earth. I also felt that Chun Song Yi, was a bit of a shallow character, I mean at first I didn't even like her, I thought she'd be the evil second female lead. The other gripe about her character is that the girl she resembled in the Joseon era, which was a really interesting plot point was never really resolved. And whatever became of Lee Hui Kyung?

I guess it's a testament to the story and the actors that despite these slight faults I still absolutely loved this drama. It's got star crossed love, superpowers, mystery and suspense all in one. Definitely a must watch!

Usually my reviews start with the plot, but I feel like I definitely have to mention the characters more this time. You Who Came from the Stars has some of the most well developed and memorable characters I've seen so far, three of which are some of my favorites - Jae Kyung, Song Yi, and Hee Kyung (four if you include Han Yoo Ra who played a smaller role but very well I may say). Many romcoms have typical characters like a male lead who's mean but turns soft and then the ditsy candy girl who "is unlike any other girl" (except for every other candy girl out there), so it's rare for a character from this genre to stand out, and evenmoreso for three of them to stand out.

Before even watching the show you've probably already seen or heard of Shin Sung Rok for his outstanding portrayal of the evil Jae Kyung in this show so it's not surprising that I'd mention him. Usually I'm the most skeptical about characters everyone loves because I don't want to be like the crowd but without him, this show would not be the same. He plays a villain that you love to hate comparable to Loki from the Avengers. Stories don't seem complete without a good villain, and Shin Sung Rok definitely proved to fit the role. Not only does he have a debonair exterior (he pulls off a suit very well I may add) but is smart and capable as well. As you wait on the edge of your seat to see what he does next, you secretly want to root for him not because has a good motive in this case (strangely) but just because he makes things exciting. The rivalry between him and the main character has a certain tension that keeps it suspenseful.

Many people have also probably heard of Jeon Ji Hyeon before watching the show; heck, even the lipstick she wore got famous from this show and was sold out selling at $95 per tube after it aired. She's not only one of the most beautiful lead actresses I've seen (she looks like a model and can wear anything I swear), but she also demonstrates a strong character with admirable confidence and a very cool, for lack of a better word, persona.

Hee Kyung is the last of these three characters. I have to say that his character is not as original because it's is the second male lead personality. The reason I say he stands out is because I think the writers and actors created a character that is one of the best second male leads I've seen and he really is the definition of this role. This is gonna sound really shallow to people who don't like remarks about actors' appearances, but I have eyes and it does play a part in how I judge characters. At first I thought he looked a little odd and really hoped that he wasn't the second lead, but his acting and the writing for his character made me change my mind because of how dedicated he appeared to be. He never gives up on her, and while heartbreaking, it's also very nice to see and hope that someone like that really exists. (As a side note, I watched him on family outing later and he has a cute personality irl too).

Yes, I know I didn't mention Kim Soo Hyun or Yoo In Na, but they didn't stand out as much in this drama for me, even though Soo Hyun plays an alien, The only cool scenes from him were the car and elevator ones but his character seemed emotionless (which might be how he wanted to portray the alien, but seems not too different from many male leads I've seen that aren't aliens- I hope it will be different in Producer which I'm waiting for). When he cried it was the exact opposite and the amount of emotion he had did not seem to match the reason for crying and made me feel out of place because of the lack of emotion throughout the show. Yoo In Na was one of my favorite characters in Secret Garden; she was forgettable in this one.

Now for the plot. I wasn't really fond of the flashbacks, and the little girl relationship was not only weird in itself since it was pedophilic but made the main relationship awkward to say the least. The climax and ending I thought would be better too; I think because I watched the Running Man version first and their ending, I was expecting something similar or related to that. It left me satisfied, but a little disappointed in Jae Kyung. I think they could have used the super powers for more entertainment purposes as well (like in the car and elevator scenes) and carried the rivalries out more because they were entertaining and some of the other parts seemed a little boring.

I don't really rewatch shows and the music was okay. "You Are My Destiny" is memorable but not my favorite; I liked the song from Younha and the scene with Hee Kyung that came with it more.

I'd recommend this show if you want to watch a show with a villain that you love-to-hate-but-really-love, a strong female lead that looks cool no matter what she does, and one of the most loyal second leads out there but don't mind some flashbacks in the beginning of every episode and a few boring parts here and there. It wasn't as funny as other romcoms, but more on the suspenseful side with a superman/ Lois Lane feel.

I honestly only started watching My Love From the Stars because Ahn Jae Hyun was in it, and all of my friends that watch Korean dramas kept persisting for me to watch it. And I am honestly glad that I did watch it. I don't usually like Sci-Fi related movies, dramas, etc, so I wasn't expecting to love this drama as much as I did. It was amazing from start to finish, and I'm glad my friends convinced me to watch this.

By reading the synopsis of the drama, I was slightly skeptical of what was going to happen, but it was great. I also really liked the fact that Do Min Joon tried to keep this identity as scarce as possible, only revealing it when needed, and that worked perfectly with the story. Although it took me a couple of weeks to finish it as I had also anime to watch and school to attend, the plot and what was going on always remained with me until I watched the next episode. Each episode is something new and exciting, and is also very memorable.

In my opinion, the acting choices were almost perfect. Kim Soo Hyun's character of Do Min Joon is described as near perfection, and that's exactly correct. I fell in love with Min Joon the second he said his first words. He's flawless and I wouldn't change a thing about him. Kim Soo Hyun's acting of Min Joon has even pushed me to want to take a degree in Psychology. I also loved Jeon Ji Hyeon, Park Hae Jin and Shin Sung Rok's acting. It was amazing, and I loved their acting (although I really hated Sung Rock's character of Jae Kyeong most of the time). And of course, I loved Ahn Jae Hyun's acting of Song Yi's younger brother - Yoon Jae. However, there were two acting choices I wasn't all that pleased with. The first one was Yoo In Na's acting of Se Mi. I've seen her roles in previous dramas, and I've loved her in those, but in My Love From the Stars, I didn't like it as much. And it didn't help that I didn't like her character either. The other acting choice I wasn't happy with was Kim Hyun Soo who played both Song Yi's younger self and Seo Yi Hwa (the girl from 400 years ago). She got extremely annoying, repetitive, and I just couldn't stand her.

The music is general is amazing. It reminds me so much of Secret Garden, and their soundtracks were splendid. Even though this is usually the most popular soundtrack, My Destiny by LYn is definitely my favourite. It's such a great listen, and it brings lots of feels - both sad and happy.

I would definitely watch this again. If I could, I would put it above doing anything else, but as life is, I can't exactly do that. I have many things to do and watching My Love From the Stars isn't a priority anymore (as I have finished it).

In conclusion, besides two unhappy acting choices, this drama is simply awesome and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to watch a good drama. I could even recommend this to my friends who don't watch Asian dramas. I understand fully why my friends love this, as I also love it with a passion.

This drama had a great premise, but I had a really hard time relating to the lead actors and their characters. The drama is 21 episodes long and the pacing was kinda slow in the beginning and the end. Just seems to drag on longer than necessary. There were a number so sweet points in the drama, and I loved seeing Park Hae Jin in a more outgoing role. Yes, I mostly watched this drama for him ... oops ... Overall, I think this drama is pretty decent, but I'm kinda surprised by the rave reviews.

I really love this drama! I love the story, the cast, the plot, and their acting.

Every cast gives justice on their own particular role especially to Jun Ji Hyun, she really nailed it! She's so cute and funny, I reached the point where I solely watched this because of her since she made it all watchable and enjoyable.and that's the reason why she won the grand prize in the 50th Baekseng art awards.

Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Swoo Hyun has a great chemistry, they're a real couple, they're not a perfect match but they have a SPARK, they look cute when they're arguing like a married couple.

The supporting actors are also good as well, they're versatile, they're good in melo-drama and good in comedy just like the two major stars. perfect cast for perfect drama

This is the best drama ever!!..... or well at least for me :)

The Drama just ended last night and I'm already feeling nostalgic.
Every little thing about it is great:

Let's start with the Story; i thought at first that it will be just as all the ghost stories, boring and predictable, but it wasn't the case, the story and the events were actually outstanding, all the classy moments we always see in Romantic comedies was anything but cheesy, that was cute, funny and simply awesome.

The Acting, i don't think they could have found better matching, the two leads looked so natural and the lead actress is just perfect.

The music was well chosen, and i think I'll definitely re-watch it.

Overall, i think this drama is a masterpiece, there was lot of morals and the way they dealt with them left me speechless!!!

I recommend this Drama to everyone and i hope you'll enjoy it as i did !!

This review may contain spoilers

As a fantasy fan this just ain't it.

I don't write reviews but the sheer preposterousness of this drama compelled me to do it. The following contains spoilers, possibly major? Depends on your perspective.

Story:
The alien's power does not make sense at all and it almost drove me crazy. Do Min Joon is supposed to be an alien from whatever planet, right? Well no, it's more like he's Son Oh Gong. I am not sure what the writer was thinking because since when does being an alien mean you can stop time and teleport, not to mention use telekinesis? Do Min Joon should've been an eastern mythology/magic character if they wanted to add all of that because it didn't help the story later on. In eastern mythology drama's God's will or a curse or something may hinder the lead from using their powers and it makes sense. But in this.....it just is? Frustratingly, the alien dies if he kills a human, which is so convenient to prolong this drama's washed up story. It isn't explained why either, because it can't be explained if he's an alien! Why would some heavenly force kill him if he kills a human? What connection is that? How is a human different to an ant to him, since he's alien. What law is creating this problem? It's complete bull. It is like saying "you will die if you kill a fly using your bare hands", but who's going to kill you? Is your hand going to snitch to God or mother nature or science, that you killed a fly with your hands instead of a using a fly swatter or gloves?
Ok fine, he can't kill anyone because of this ridiculous law, but he can cripple or injure right? Nah, he'll just run around giving hollow threats and wait for the worst to happen! He could even lock the villain in an isolated chamber but nope. For this reason, it would've been smarter to make the villain an alien too. But I guess the writer didn't think at all.
To make matters even worse, this guy can go poof into fairy dust if he stays on Earth forever. How does that work? Again, this isn't a magic show, it's sci-fi. It would work if they said something like "Earth's atmosphere contains toxins and he's been inhaling them for 400 years so he'll die if he stays any longer", but no they just think it's ok to make vanishing a thing. Is this guy an Angel or something? Like I said, the writer doesn't know how to write aliens/sci-fi realistically and utterly fails at even creating a semi-realistic version. It's almost as if the Screenwriter did whatever pleased her the most, without meaningful thinking.

They spend episode 1-16 in the one-sided love/distance crush part. There's just no progress and when you think there finally is, they crush it instantly. It's a worse back and forth than A Korean Odyssey. The writer focuses so much on driving a wedge between them all the way along the journey, by episode 15 they're still haven't graced mutual flirting. It becomes a mental chore to watch them bicker like kids. So the romance in this is a real headache. There's no happy period of mutual love in between like usual. It's infighting, one sided love, mutual love but distanced, noble sacrifice and finally mutual love. The whole thing is just an annoying tease until episode 16+.

Cheon Song Yi is so pitiful, her character is completely useless and a total airhead. She's not annoying like others say, it's just sad that she isn't given anything meaningful to do. She can't even do simple things like take care of a sick person at first, the writer doesn't give her any self-respect.
Whereas Do Min Joon is stuck between being a closet p*dophile and an outright douche. He's so aggressive towards Song Yi, even when he's started liking her, he just shouts at her angrily.

The drama doesn't progress at all until about half way through, for a 21 episode drama it wasted a lot of time dragging things out. They could have explored Song Yi's celebrity struggle more, gave Min Joon something to do other than run to Song Yi's rescue and act elusive for 11 episodes or more aliens. There is nothing interesting to keep you going apart from the alien action scenes and a deep, resentful longing for the nonsense between the leads to stop and a relationship to develop. The villain goes about doing whatever he wants because of previously explained rubbish. And almost all the side characters are rivals or evil or selfish, whatever negative. The entire story is built on Song Yi not finding out about Min Joon being an alien, they try to hide it for an unnecessary amount of time to keep the show going. And why doesn't this amazing alien that can travel through space have any means of communication with home? These guys are so high tech that they can travel light years in UFOs. They must have advanced phones or help beacons. Furthermore, the ending is bittersweet so it doesn't even have that going for it as a positive...

Casting is fine, apart from yoo in na who just can't act evil enough. And the villains hairstyle needs some fixing.

The standards in 2013 must have been supremely low, because there's nothing special about this drama. Perhaps the amazing special effects and casting lead to this much of an overrating, which makes sense because the sfx looked great. But any modern fantasy drama can outdo the story within 3-4 episodes. This can never be a 10/10 with all the bad writing, plot holes, hollow characters and milked out drama. The pacing of this show had its brakes on 24/7, preventing meaningful advances. I wish the writer had got some advice/opinions from peers because clearly this isn't her best work. LOTBS and CLOY are much better in every department, even though they all stink near the end (seems she never learned how to get away from this one troll ending type...). Overall I do not recommend this show, it's an agonizing waste of 21 hours.

This drama has a different story line from all the drama that I've seen. That's what drew me to the drama after reading about the plot. Although it was funny and sweet from the very beginning, it was somehow boring and I didn't continue to watch it for a few weeks. After finishing the drama, I regret not watching it sooner. I cried with the last two episodes seeing how hurt and hard it was for her. The ending was unexpected and shocking, but I'm happy it ended the way it did. I would highly recommend this drama to anyone out there who have not seen it yet.

I LOVE THIS DRAMA SO MUCH!!! I dont know why but i superb love this drama, this is the best drama that i've EVER watch. I cant wait to watch episode 14 since it will be extended to another week bcus of chinese new year, (do you see my problem here?) The ost are the best besides the mastersun's ost, which is my favourite korean songs right now. I kept rewatching the episodes, i found the were cute and yes, it was a good combination. Both are perfectly match each other, handsome and fairy that made me fangirling over this drama. It was such a hilarious, romantic, cute and sweet drama! Episode 8 WAS DABOMB!!!

I have to say I really enjoyed this drama, the story kept me interested. The chemistry between the actors was great, not once was I pulled out of the story because their chemistry or interaction felt awkward. There are some genuinely funny moments and a couple of really tense moments too. I really liked the ending and really didn't feel it was predictable at all

If you've been watching drama lately you would have most likely heard the name "you who came from the stars" it's a drama that got instantly popular for various reasons. It had an interesting plot, yes I'll give it that it sounded really interesting and I was excited to watch it, just like the heirs. Now of course there is going to be a debate on wether this drama lived up to its hype or if it was just another cliche drama. What did we get? We got something that wasn't exactly cliche but had its moments, that's it that's my basic description of   "you who came from the stars"

Story:
The story was interesting it caught my eye in an instant with its alien type fantasy setting with romance, because I mean where could we go wrong with that? As a romance lover I was extremely excited for this and was I disappointed? Yes
The first 2 episodes were good, I liked them a lot but after that it went down hill because of all the cliches, just basically cliche. Well I was expecting it because it's about an alien who falls in love with the extremely famous, cheon song Yi! So there was obviously bound to be some cliches. The whole he has super powers really interested me and I was hoping for a story that was breathtaking but sometimes we can't always get what we want, Can we?

Characters:
Alright so we've got the cliche cold male lead who is rude to the naive female lead and they fall in love, oh wait? I think I've seen this somewhere before?? heirs, boys over flowers, many more) so I was a little annoyed because I really disliked that they had to be extremely cliche to a point that it was really hard to watch, the supporting characters were better than the mains and that's when you know the main characters aren't good. But don't get me wrong the actors/actresses were excellent at portraying the characters, great performances from the whole cast! I enjoyed their acting, it was fantastic.

Music:
The music was nice it wasn't amazing or anything, I'm not going to remember the ost whatsoever but there indeed was a couple of tracks that were nice to the ears. I think the music was one of the things I actually liked to some extent. You could probably save yourself 21 hours and just listen to the soundtrack on YouTube.

All in all this drama is a hit or a miss I would honestly recommend trying this drama and if it isn't for you drop it because it doesn't get any better after the first 2 episodes, harsh I know but this is a review and I want to express my absolute  honest opinion and that is, Well this drama is overrated just like the heirs. I really tried to enjoy it and I just found myself bored and not interested in the characters, there was a lack of character development at some points and I think the writer just wanted to please the viewers because of such high ratings (the ratings were so high it basically knocked every drama down that was airing at the same time) It was popular that's all there is to it, there is way better dramas than this, honestly if you like romance and just want to watch it for the romance then yeah! I completely understand because there was a lot of romantic elements throughout the story that I enjoyed to some extent.  But  it
still doesn't change the fact that it was quite cliche.. Disappointed would be the word to describe this drama,  Because this drama had amazing potential.

My final score: 7
Characters: 7
Story: 7
Music:  8
Enjoyment: 7

I recommend looking into a drama before you watch it and NEVER judge a show based off of ratings because this has a great score but was lacking a lot. Save yourself 21 hours and google recaps, because honestly there is way better dramas.

Sorry for the Lack of detail regarding everything I'm using my phone to write this and English isn't my first language.

Thank you for reading my review and I hope you understand that everyone has different opinions regarding shows, movies and other forms of entertainment. Everyone has a right to an opinion and I hope you can look past the fact that I didn't enjoy this drama as much as others because well? It's my opinion! Thank you.
