It was fresh for first 7 episodes but disappointed with last 3 eps
It is a good fresh story but I am disappointed with the ending. I think the writer tried to add drama in the last few episodes and it backfired. Just to add some "spice" in the ending the effect of the first 7 eps was undone. I was hoping for a fresh kind of ending. The acting was nice. The character of Soramame is refreshing and bright. The Oto character though should have had a little dynamic side to it. It was a little too dull, though Soramame character compensated for the dullness of Oto. The career side of Soramame seemed a little far-fetched as well. A struggle makes the character more relatable and increases its impact on audiences. Was this review helpful to you?

Soulmates & misunderstandings
What I admire about japanese romcoms is the way they manage to create a whole long drama without one really bad character. I find it amazing. This cute little drama is such an uplifting, nice, optimistic watch. The story follows Soramame and Oto who keep bumping into each other until they end up living in the same boarding house. Their connection, mutual respect, sincerity and friendship set them on the right path of professional success which unfortunately pushes the private life out of the way. After success tears them apart they meet again three years later.
The main characters are sweet and cute and have great chemistry. She is always looking on the bright side of life in spite of a number of mishaps. He is fascinated by her optimism which rubs off on him a bit helping him break the creative block. There is a cast of colourful support characters: the landlady enjoying the presence of youngsters in her house, the music producer, flamboyant and king, the fashion designer who almost caves in to temptation....
Though it is a romance, this drama touched superficially upon some interesting topics: child abandonment, creativity and inspiration, cutthroat entertainment and fashion businesses.
The drama is pretty to watch, the music is nice, pulling on heartstrings, the writing is solid as is the acting. For almost 8 episode it was a fairy tale about two lost puppies trying to find their way in this big bad world. And then suddenly, they became adults and everything changed. It was not a fairy tale anymore because the real life interfered, no matter how unrealistic (all of a sudden she discovers herself having a huge talent for creating clothes and after one month is better then a seasoned fashion designer?!?!?). The main couple spent most of the series circling around each other, pining and wondering. And even though I did not mind it most of the time, it became annoying towards the ending with unnecessary misunderstandings and a three year time jump. But they fixed everything and came back to the fairy tale territory with the post credit scene of the last episode and with that everything bitter I felt, just vanished. A lovely drama

It is a roller coaster of emotions but they are a cute couple
9/10 is my rating. This is a 2023 Japanese romantic drama with 10, 46-60 minute episodes.First I provide a unique synopsis then review
Synopsis
Asagi Soramame (Suzu Hirose) is heart broken when her childhood friend, Shota Yano (Kaito Sakurai) now her fiancé, breaks it off with her. After having thrown all of her caution to the wind, and traveling from her home in the country to the big city of Tokyo, the sudden break up swept her world out from under her. Too embarrassed to let her friends and family, who were preparing for the wedding back home, know that she is no longer getting married, she decides to find a way to live in Tokyo. However, after going on a bit of a drunken depressive binge, she spends all of her money on a hotel which quickly runs out and now she has nowhere to go. But fate was about to play some tricks and bring a man she had a brief encounter with back into her life. Umino Oto (Ren Nagase), was a man Soramame bumped into when she first arrived in Tokyo. During that brief encounter, they discovered a mutual love of the same music, had a pleasant conversation about music, and then went their separate ways. But Oto felt an instant connection with the beautiful girl he bumped into and was about to go after her only to see her go up to a man who appeared to be her boyfriend. What Oto did not know is that was the last time the pair he saw were together as a couple. Now Soramame is all alone in Tokyo, has spent most of her money, and decides to go to a spa in order to have a place to stay while she gathers her thoughts on where she’s going to live next. But Soramame spends too much time in the hot sauna and winds up passing out and is rescued by a woman who happens to be Oto’s landlord, Kyoko Yukihara (Mari Natsuki). Feeling sorry for the young woman after hearing her story, Yukihara takes Soramame in and offers her a job and place to stay. Her motivations are not completely pure, secretly Natsuki views the beautiful 23 year old as a good romantic prospect for her son Sosuke Yukihira (Yoohei Kawakami). Hoping if the young girl lives with her, and is around her son, sparks could develop. But what Yukihara does not know is her other tenant Oto, and Soramame have already started falling for each other from that first brief encounter. Living in the same house the young pair bother each other like siblings all the while inspiring each other to become their best selves. Will their silly banter develop into something much more romantic?
Review
Don’t expect any levity in this one, it is a pure drama with only minor points where it is lighter or funny. It is a good romantic drama. The leads have great chemistry amd it is well acted. I recommend it for those that like drama, are fans of any of the actors or enjoy romance of any genre. I would watch it if someone had it on and would recommend it for romance fans or for anyone that is a fan of any of the actors.

It ends happy but it does keep you wondering to the very end.
Their interplay when they are harassing each other is flirtatious playfullness. It is fun to watch as things between them evolve and it is evident how they fall in love.
Her fashion gets frustrating because she works so hard to make it then was like, never mind. It was disappointing. At least she does start back to designing for the singing duo.
There were so many near misses with them kissing or telling each other their feelings it became frustrating. I had the timed comments on and others were indicating frustration as well. Some were so frustrated they were like I cannot watch this anymore. They do not get together until the very end so there is very little time to enjoy them together as a couple after so many incidents where they nearly confessed.
The songstress/scammer/liar they just forgive her way too easy. She inowingly and intentionally emotionally hurt someone she professed to love. Thatis so selfish. And they barely react.

Cliffhanger
Cliffhanger!!!Putting aside my problems with this drama, I was surprised that I actually liked it. I wasn't expecting anything at first. The synopsis doesn't even look interesting to me, as I just randomly started the drama on a whim. I don't even know why I watched this, even though I initially did not like the plot introduction.
But the first few episodes were great! The bickering between the two leads was cute. I guess my problem was they took so long to confess their feelings. All the time, I was like, "Come on, say it!" And they never did. But still, I guess the issue was that they were friends. And they are circumstances that friends don't want to ruin what they have now. Also! probably because they don't know if the other feels the same, which is obviously nonsense, because girl, I'm gonna say, friends don't look at their friends that way. They even held hands and how they look at one another like it was so obvious! All that is missing is a "boyfriend-girlfriend" label, and they're good.
Another thing is that it felt short as I wanted to see more of their life after getting together.
For the cast, this might be my first drama of hers, but Suzu's acting here is great. I liked it. Btw, she's so pretty.

Episode 1-7 was really good the rest was trash
There is a lot of potential that is not used well by story makers, even though if that potential was used well for two characters like ML and FL it would be better. Episodes 1-7 are very good, in my opinion, they are my favorite drama, but after that it becomes a waste of time. I think the story makers want to make interesting things, even though they only make trash stories. If episodes 8-9-10 don't exist, I think they will be the top of my favorite Japanese dramas. But a lot of potential was wasted in the last episode. Overall I give a 7 rating for this dramaWas this review helpful to you?
Emotional
Slow burn love story , sweet , emotional ..It's unrealistic in my opinion
But!
Why it's beautiful?
Because it teached me something important , while we are all trying to chase after our dreams and be in such good places with big amounts of money ,
We don't realize how lone we could be after all of that ..
Sometimes , love is as important as your dreams
Why it touched my heart?
Because i know that selfishness is real , in order to be what you want to be you have to sacrifise alot like soramami mom
But is it worth it?
At the same time .. povetry and love doesn't mix and combine in my opinion
Money is important tool
So ..
It touched my heart , what should we do if we want to be loved but want to be in decent career ?

Beautiful
Hold my hand at twilightI haven't watched many jdramas lately.. don't get me wrong but my experience with them haven't been pleasing at most. And this one blew away my heart and broke that with a sledge hammer. No over reacting, No unnecessary characters, No cringe, No always so perfect type .. This drama had visuals, production, and OST.. don't even get me started on that. I already added it to my playlist on spotify. The actors were amazing. I cried twice .. no thrice .. okay i lost count but it was necessary. The leads bickering was too cute, the landlord is a chef's kiss.. i mean in short, i loved everything !!

Immediately one of my favorite shows
This show had my attention from start to finish. I had to take a break or two because of how deep and sad some parts were. It was amazing because it didn't feel forced, the writing fit like a completed puzzle. My favorite part was the FL, she's as explained in the synopsis and then some. She's so funny and cute, extremely talented and was perfect. The ML was almost exactly opposite, serious and handsome, also played the part perfectly. The secondary characters were written, cast and acted excellently. They were crutches and stories to aid the Main characters. They didn't take away, they added in every aspect they could.
The will they, won't they, is hard to do. They did everything they needed to in the 10 episodes. An amazing show. 10/10

A heartwarming drama
It made me think about a lot of things: coincidences, big changes in life, gratitude, and the weight of emotional connections. Sadly, I watched most of episodes when I was very tired, which made not enjoy them so much. But the reason for the (relatively) low rating was that I was not really too into this drama. It is a subjective feeling. There are some dramas that you really empathize with the story and the characters. Maybe on this one I did not feel so much connected with neither both. Instead, I only felt connected to the situations shown.Note: Yorushika OST was superb!

One of the best Japanese dramas to exist!
Wow. I don't even know where to begin. Fun fact, I started watching this drama because I'm a huge fan of the actress Suzu hirose's (who plays the female lead, Soramame) boyfriend Kento yamazaki. Truth be told, I didn't know Suzu before the dating news with Kento. And I'm so happy that I started watching this drama. I binge watched it the entire day, I couldn't stop watching. The characters, plot, acting, music and overall was 100% for me 10/10. I have watched over 1000 Asian dramas and maybe 100 Japanese ones. And this definitely is in my TOP 3! Just watch it!!! I loved it so much would really recommend. Was this review helpful to you?
Awwwwww ♥️
I love Suzu Hirose she’s my Japanese bias. Like Zhou Ye for Chinese, and Bae Suzy for South Korea. This series was so warm, and I really appreciate how talented Suzu is ? if you want something light, warm, and no cringe fest this is such a perfect series. Was able to finish this in one seating.
I love all the characters, and grateful that the series wasn’t dragging at all. I’m glad that she was able to find herself without the need to depend on others, but still was able to have the happy ending they both deserve.

a must watch for those looking for a youthful warm romance drama
Where do I even start with this review. Is it even a good idea to write this while on an emotional high immediately after finishing the show? My chest is overflowing with emotions I've never felt in a while. It's been a long time since i've watched something that saw right through me and managed to reach my heart to this extent.A clip that popped up on my fyp or on my twitter page piqued my interest. The trailer of them bumping into each other and exchanging airpods did it for me. I am an absolute sucker for meet-cutes and I am definitely a sucker for fate/destiny stories when they are done well. I can't articulate enough how fascinating their first meet was. The same song at the same time and the same place. WOW. You cannot argue that whoever came up with this idea is a genius. I love how unique it is!
Oh and how I love that through twist of fate, they end up living in the same house together. The moments they shared, the conversations they had, the smiles they've shown, how warm all of them were. Every moment and conversation was so raw, it felt like I lived in the house with them. I was feeling the warmth they felt in their chest, the comfort, and how time seemed to stop whenever Oto and Soramame was under the kotatsu, or outside, sitting on their spot in the yard. I cannot emphasize enough how my gut wrenched, stomach turned, and heart ached because of everything they've shared on that spot. It's as if the two of them only needed each other, the sounds from the yard, and that place to have a world of their own. I found it amazing. It's just the two of them, talking, but everything is so remarkable.
I also have to talk about how every character in the series is so well-written. I was able to understand and resonate with all of them. I've been saying this over and over but the dialogues in this drama is out of this world. The conversations, fights, misunderstandings all felt very real and human. Maybe it's just me being an empath, but honestly it feels like anyone who watches this drama would be able to connect to the characters well. The lines felt very straightforward, they are as they are. Well, I guess sometimes there are poetic lines and figurative language used, and when they are it's very beautiful.
At this point, I am stumped again. Where do I even start when it comes to Oto and Soramame? There's so many things and specific scenes I want to talk about when it comes to them. Let me pick up off what happened after they first met. Soramame's world shattered when Shota called off the wedding. It was all that she lived for after all. Thinking about what would happen to her if Oto wasn't there scares me. I don't know, it really solidifies the fact that they're destined for each other. Oto went through all of that without them knowing each other's name.
Seeing the both of them hustle and bustle with their own lives and careers, then eventually succeeding, felt fulfilling. I felt it so hard like they were actually my friends. I would like to believe that they were able to get this far because they had each other. Oto who was struggling with inspiration and motivation to write was able to come up with something because of his encounter with Soramame. Oto help broke Soramame out of her shell. She completely tossed the idea of marriage out the window as soon as she realized she could make the money for the elevator herself with her skills. They were always there for each other.
Actually, them being there for each other is an understatement. They both used to just exist, drifting and floating aimlessly. When they met, they were able to become themselves. Their lives became fun, meaningful, thrilling, exciting, and colorful. Playing with bean bags, blowing bubbles, splashing each other with water. They were each other’s beautiful youth.
