Cool Doji Danshi: A Surprisingly Hilarious and Heartwarming Live Animation!
As someone who has read the manga and watched the anime, I initially didn't have too many expectations for the live animation adaptation of "Cool Doji Danshi". However, after watching the first four episodes, I can say that I was pleasantly surprised by how funny and heartwarming it is! The show's humor is not the typical slapstick comedy, but rather it's more subtle and relatable, showcasing the daily clumsy incidents we all experience and trying to look cool while doing so.What sets "Cool Doji Danshi" apart from other dramas is its talented cast of four main characters played by Yuta Nakamoto, Dori Sakurada, Takumi Kawanishi, and Maito Fujioka. Yuta, known for his cool and charismatic persona on stage as a singer, and an actor in High and Low the Worst x Cross, showcases a completely different side as the clumsy yet endearing Hayate. Meanwhile, Sakurada Dori, who has previously played various roles, brings a mature and calming presence to the show.
The drama's 30-minute runtime is the perfect length for a quick and easy watch, and it airs after midnight, which makes it the perfect late-night viewing. Watching "Cool Doji Danshi" is a truly healing experience, with its lighthearted and warm moments, making it a great way to unwind after a long week. I was having a good laugh in every episode. And the director has smartly added a 'beautiful boys' scene as fans service at the beginning of each episode; which becomes something expected. Overall, "Cool Doji Danshi" is a beautifully crafted show that's worth watching for its humor, heart, and talented cast.

Easy show to binge watch
I started watching this when it first aired but left it to one side because it didn't really have an interesting story, I finally finished it this week and I'm glad I did.The humor is rather dry and tends to repeat it itself quite a bit, not all of separate stories were funny but enough of them are. The overarching plot centered around the main characters isn't too present, so if you're looking for something with a really compelling narrative it probably won't be that interesting.
I usually don't stick with slice of life drama but this one had enough charm and silliness to keep me wanting to watch more episodes.
I enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who's in the mood for something uncomplicated and easy to watch.

Having a stressful day? Watch this one.
There aren't many shows like this. I can't believe how much I could relate to all the characters in the dorama. We all go through those times when we do some silly things. Sometimes it is funny and sometimes embarassing but we all relate to those clumsy moments. I remember the anime version of this one and to watch Yuta, Dori , Maito (all my favs) portraying these characters is a chef's kiss. These are about 25-30min. episodes each and you will be smiling ear to ear while watching them. It is pure stress reliever.
I wish I could watch more dramas like that.

I don't even remember why I started watching this, but I am glad I did!
It sure took me a while to finish this. Not only because life got in the way, but also because my go-tos are usually thrillers, action and horror dramas/movies. And to tell you the truth, I don't even remember why I started watching this, but I am glad I did.If you are looking for something light-hearted, but with life lessons conveyed through short episodes and lots of cuteness, look no further. This is slice of life kind of drama, that displays situations that could happen to us all at any given day. And contrary to the stuff I usually watch, this time I surely hope it does: I hope we all get to experience pure joy, growth and sense of community, by always being surrounded by true friends.

Good Enough
Japanese Drama '' Cool Doji Danshi '' is a comedy about four boys who try to act cool when they find themselves in awkward situations. The drama is light and it has indeed some funny moments, others were a bit cheesy though. There were also hints of some boy love notions, but they are kept on low key and pretty much only focused on teasing the viewer and showing only true friendship, which wasn't that bad to watch either.
The performances were great as well, by everyone in the cast, and, especially, the main boys, who had smooth chemistry between them which aided the drama a lot.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

Adorably Dimwitted
My introduction to the Cool Doji Danshi story was through the anime which I loved primarily because I've done so many of the same absentminded mistakes that it seemed like I had found my people. shut up! Don't judge me. :DCDD is initially about 4 attractive males of close but different ages and stages in life who become unlikely friends. The 5th is added a little after the story begins. The one thing all 5 men have in common is their absentmindedness, misunderstandings , and their ability to shrug it off and keep on moving as if nothing happened. Not only do I know people like this I am apparently also like this. Raise your hands if you've ever lost your glasses on your head; kept losing your pencils at work or class only to find them later in your hair; put your phone down to look for your phone; lost something only to find it on your person; etc. Nobody? Just me huh? Oh well you're just not cool enough. No matter, the CCD guys have you covered. The production and direction were solid, although, they did cut out a few things like the guys trip to the beach.
We start of with Hayate, the embarrassed played by Yuta Nakamoto, who has no idea that's he's attractive and that girls are attracted to him. He actually seems to believe he repels them. After Hayate we're introduced to the eldest of the original 4, Takayuki Mima, the misunderstander played by Dori Sakurada. Mima is kind of like an idol to the younger guys. Someone to look up to. While they remind him of his youth (he's only 27). This brings us to Shun, the unfazed played by Maito Fujioka, who pretends all his mistakes are intentional without ever "letting them see him sweat." The last of the 4 is Souma, the giggles played Takumi Kawanishi, who faces every blunder head on with a smile and giggles. All 4 actors were cast perfectly and did very good jobs. They showed the characters fun and vulnerability without ever making them seem like fools. Lastly, is Motoharu Igarashi played Toshiki Seto, Mima's childhood friend, who is a little more worldly than the others, but equally as absentminded. Seto did a fine job as the writer who sits back and analyzes realizing that the other 4 are somewhat odd and embracing his oddity as well. You totally want to hang out with these guys, but don't catch a crush because they'll never notice. They're too dense.
The music was good. I really liked the start of the ending theme, Sunny Road by NCT127. I believe it may be the first time I ever heard a male sing Bibbity Bibbity Bobbity Boo. I don't rarely re-watch, but I have decided to move on to the manga to finish.
Overall, Cool Doji Danshi was fun to watch. It won't win any awards for production or acting, but that wasn't the goal. The goal was to bring smiles to the faces of the viewers and hopefully a few laughs and it succeeded.
