It's just weirdly attractive!! - not that kind of teacher-student relationship that you know.

Hell LOL. What the hell is this series about? It's freaking weird. OK. I know, most of you, and me too hate this kind of teacher-student relationship. But, this drama is beyond that. This is just weird and weird and weirdly you like it. I mean it's more than that kind of romantic story that you have. I don't know, I love it. And it's not cringey at all. And the visual is beautiful too.

Though the relationship between teacher and student serves as its backdrop, it is not the taboo aspect that should stand out, nor does this drama romanticize grooming as some may be inclined to believe. They handled the triggering subject of suicide with care and caution, with the insistence that there is so much to live for, despite what one might think as a life-ending suffering. Mikoto felt that there was no more future for her after she was rejected by her first love when she encounters her teacher on the rooftop. Haibi Jin distracts Mikoto with absurd requests or plies Mikoto with off-hand comments to distract her from her goal.

We learn that Haiba Jin was also once in what he deemed as dire strait, when his mentor tried to dissuade him from ending his own life. And it was because of this life-changing moment that Haibi Jin paid it forward and gave Mikoto a purpose. When Mikoto learns nothing is worth dying for, she develops genuine feelings for Jin.

There are many things in this drama that some people may find problematic, but the show is cognizant of these situations, for example, when Haibi Jin can be considered as stalking Mikoto around town, all he was really doing is ensuring she does not make another attempt at her own life. The show also mocks itself by injecting dry humor and reminds us not to take this drama at its face value.

At its core, this drama highlights the importance of the will to live for oneself, as much as for others, without trivializing the hardships that one may encounter as no more than experiences that one must go through in life in order to be stronger.

Roof Confessions

This drama unfolds with the Mikkoto contemplating suicide on the school roof, only to be met with an unexpected confession from her teacher Jin Haiba proposing to date before her perceived demise.
Despite the weirdness I felt at first, the storyline evolves beyond typical teacher-student romance, revealing the complex character of Haiba Jin.
Initially perceived as careless, his actions (Flirting and stalking ?) take on new meaning when seen through a different lens, revealing a thoughtful and caring side that adds depth to the storyline.
Mikkoto's character is equally compelling, portraying innocence, kindness, and a strong analytical mind. The dynamic between the two characters is well-crafted, making them a match made in heaven.
Their journey, marked by healing and understanding, adds depth to the storyline.
It was cute seeing them trying to be together, but they knew their limits and waiting for her to graduate.
The ending hit me with some real feels, leaving that bittersweet sadness. I was itching for more after graduation?
Truly, this review do not do justice to this drama, the screenwriters were really smart about the way to broach very hard subjects, but they still did in a light way, always lifting the mood and adding humor in right places.

Fresh, Deadpan and Cute

I've seen the manga around but was a bit reluctant to read because you know Student x Teacher but man I'll have to pick up the manga to get my fix because I need more of Haijin and Mikoto!
I don't really knoe how to give a real review so I'll just give some points;

- The OSTs are bloody amazing, they fit the vibe and theme of the show perfectly and are a permanent part of my playlist
*Kimikimimai, the upbeat opening song that always got me hyped to watch a new episode and I could never skip it, and
*Matomo Janai no ga Choudo Ii no, a cute calming ending song accompanied with cat visuals! 10/10!

- The comedy and jokes, which translated over wonderfully might I add. Each episode had me giggling and of course looking forward to the next scene.

- The actors were just amazing. They delivered the jokes well, had good rapport and chemistry and those backhugs had me kicking my feet.

- The story was just so good, the mix of dark and gloomy topics with humor will alwasy be a good combo and this show does it so well!

This review isn't good but if you're still contemplating watching, atleast try the first episode. More people need to watch this

Deep and hopeful

"The dialogues were wonderful, and the element of excitement was always present. I believe it’s the best series I've ever watched in my life! It talks about loneliness and about two people who strangely and perfectly prefer to be alone together. I don’t like violence in kisses or forced kisses, nor do I like kisses after asking for permission. The romantic scenes here were wonderful in a healthy and surprising way."

Left wanting more...

I enjoy the manga this series is based on so I was nervous about watching, however, I can tell you that I was extremely and pleasantly surprised about how each episode came together. Though I'm not too sure I will have a lot to say in this review, only because I feel like the show itself, or maybe it's the story, was too short, but here is what I thought....

I really enjoyed watching Hashimoto Ryo and Takaishi Akari in their roles, especially as I continued with each episode. I haven't seen either of them in a show or movie before, and I usually stick to show's where I know most of the actors, so it was very refreshing to see some new faces. Especially because they both really managed to act out their roles similar to how the manga characters are. I think the story itself is new, I do remember some episodes or pieces of the episodes that were in the manga, but because each actor/actress brought the character to life while simultaneously showing themselves as well, I believe the live-action is an incredibly real, honest, relatable, genuine journey through high school, the awkward years, and the difficulties in growing up (not to mention over coming issues from the past).

I do wish that there were more episodes, I feel like there is so much left to say and I wish that we could have seen a few more characters from the manga make an appearance. I don't feel like there are any questions left to answer, other than I wanted to see more acting from Hashimoto Ryo and Takaishi Akari both as themselves and as their characters, Haiba Jin and Ochiai Mikoto. Watching this show felt like watching the manga come to life, I believe the embodiment of the characters from the manga and the creation of them in live-action form was spectacular, fascinating to watch, and most definitely full of charm. I really hope there will be more to this story; I also wonder why they stopped at 9 episodes.

Apparently I had a lot to say.... Oops....

Best drama for teenagers !! ✔️?

This drama was so good! A must watch if you are a teenager. Their acting was so good. I just stumbled upon this drama but honestly I feel lucky to see this drama. It portrayed serious topics with ease and I need a sequel of this sweet and short drama?Honestly the female lead was so beautiful and the male lead too?? Only thing that bothers me is it was so short just 9 episodes I literally finished it in one afternoon TT (also I love the intro damnn? ?

A love that is not immoral~ This is a pure love~

The story is very fun and not stressful at all.

ML is very playful. FL looks groomy in the human way unlike other in jdrama. FL is as smart as ML, but when she gets tricked by ML, then cute moment happened~ This story is a very pure love. Being a teacher and a student But doesn't immoral 300%. The Love scene is CUTE TOO?✨ for not Immoral☝️☝️they just censored by dreaming or doing it without the other person knowing it. **IT'S SO GOOD anyways**

I like the way they talk about suicide?

❌The first criticism is that Little Kazuma is such a humdrum and looks too young. For me It's a little irritated. Another criticism is the cutting of scenes in days and months, so I almost couldn't keep up. It's not continuous so it's not smoothly.?

Anyway, If you're stressed or committing suicide, You open this drama up and you'll be completely healed.✨❤️?

Increase the desire to watch again ×2
I Love it (*´ω`*)
