The best romcom ever ??!!!
I’m sure everyone else will find better words to explain what they loved about this drama but I still wanted to give a little review because it surely deserves it ! I didn’t have much expectation at first, since I thought the plot wouldn't have much essence to last 16 episodes but I didn’t feel bored even once ! It’s quite rare for me so I definitely wanted to address this first. To be honest, the plot isn’t exactly extraordinary but it was handled with such care and smartness that it worked very well. There were some clichés thrown in it like love at first sight, childhood friends/acquaintances, love triangle (if we can call it like that), but it didn’t feel recycled from other dramas. Like of course some elements are present in other dramas but I didn’t feel like I was watching the same thing again and again and I want to give a round of applause to the writer for that ! Even better, it felt like I was watching different romance dramas in one single drama because of the different timelines mixed in here, and so, it was always exciting (and kinda heartbreaking) to watch the main leads interact with each other in another timeline (with different contexts).
Apart from that, the characters, especially the main couple, were truly a delight to watch. The ML is perhaps the greenest flag that exists in k-drama land, at least in my opinion. He also managed to level up my expectations even more (and surely it’s not the best thing for my already non-existent love life T-T). Like, seriously, what a dreamy man !! I also really like that the leads sacrificed so much for the other, it was well-balanced and didn’t feel like one was more in love than the other. Their chemistry was of course off the charts, and their interactions full of humor, cuteness and love. I don’t even know what to say about them, apart from the fact that the actors were born to play these characters lol. It felt real and they made the viewer empathize with them at every sad situation they had to go through. The FL was also amazing of course, the actress was one big ray of sunshine throughout the drama, and she excelled in tragedy scenes. Considering the story and the circumstances, I feel like she did her very best and I honestly don’t understand the negative comments regarding her character or her decisions… But oh well, to each their own I guess !
Another thing that I loved about this drama was the humor thrown in it ! For once, I didn’t feel like I was watching a different drama with a completely different genre halfway through. In fact, since it dealt with different timelines, there were some sad scenes present here and there (the acting was, again, top notch) but fortunately the humor was also here to balance things out.
Now for the secondary characters, I liked most of them, mainly the 2ML, the grandma, and the other members of Eclipse. Concerning the 2ML, I was a little sad that we didn’t get enough of him, especially near the end. His character was very interesting and he didn’t feel like his whole existence was to provoke the ML’s jealousy (but these scenes were also very funny I can’t lie). So yeah, maybe the writer could have introduced a love interest for him as well near the end, I don’t even know ! Even better, a sequel with his character would be awesome but alas, it probably won’t happen. Apart from that, I wasn’t really a fan of the romance between the brother and the best friend. Even if there were some funny moments (most of them were kinda cringe though), I would have preferred if the story focused more on the 2ML instead… As for the villain, he was a stereotypical antagonist that didn’t have any reason behind his actions (like the villain in Destined with you) but I can understand why they chose to go this route. A more complex villain would have complicated things (lol), and they did want the leads to have a chance against him in the end (and for once, thank you, evil truck of doom !! You are a real lifesaver).
What else can I say ? The ending was perfect, and for once I don’t have a single complaint about it. The last episode was only “good vibes” and that’s what the viewer wants while watching a RomCom, so a big thank you to the writer for understanding that !! The OST is also outstanding, and frankly, I’m quite impressed that the main actor sang all those songs, especially since he isn't an idol in real life, if I understood correctly ?? Again, what a man !! All the other tracks were of course amazing and very well placed throughout the course of the drama. The cinematography was also great, and some scenes are indeed quite memorable, but I guess it’s a specialty of k-dramas directors since I say this about every drama that I like haha.
Well, my “little” review isn’t so little after all. I guess that I can conclude by saying that this drama does indeed live up to the hype (in my opinion) and it deserves all the love it gets. I can’t wait to see the leads in other projects but I admit this couple will now occupy a permanent place in my brain and heart. I’m kinda sad that it’s already over, so yeah, I will definitely miss this. T-T

This K-Drama Will Make You Want to Rewind Time (and Not Just Because of Travel)
Imagine this: you're chilling on your couch, popcorn in hand, ready to dive into a new K-drama adventure. That's exactly how I felt when I hit play on *Lovely Runner*. From the get-go, I was hooked. The storyline? Super intriguing. We've got Ryu Sun Jae, this swoon-worthy idol, and Im Sol, his biggest fan who's been through some tough stuff. But here's the twist: time travel! Sol gets zapped back 15 years into the past, and boom, she's face to face with Sun Jae in his high school days. Talk about a plot twist! Now, let's talk characters. Sun Jae? Total sweetheart. He's got this awkward charm that just makes you want to give him a big ol' hug. And Sol? She's hilarious! Her antics had me laughing out loud one minute and tearing up the next. Oh, and can we talk about their chemistry? It's off the charts! Every time they were on screen together, sparks were flying.
let's talk about the unsung heroes of Lovely Runner – the supporting cast! You've got Kim Won Hae, the king of comedy, bringing the laughs as Sun Jae's hilarious dad. His banter with Sol's mom? Priceless. Then there's Baek In Hyuk, the goofy best friend who always knows how to lighten the mood. Seriously, his antics had me in stitches every time he appeared on screen.
Ah, Taesung, from his love for fashion to his heartfelt relationships, he adds depth and warmth to every scene he's in. His charming personality, authentic friendships, and meaningful character growth make him a standout in the supporting cast.
But it's not just the big names stealing the show. Lovely Runner is all about those little details that make the world feel so real. Like, remember when Sol zoomed in on Sun Jae's collarbone in his fan photo? I swear, I was wheezing! And how about those throwback moments to South Korea in the past? From the Olympics to the rise of SNSD, it's like taking a trip down memory lane.
Oh, and let's not forget about those clever little nods to past episodes. The way they seamlessly tied everything together? Genius. From callbacks to earlier scenes to subtle hints about future plot twists, it's like a game of cat and mouse trying to unravel all the mysteries. And let me tell you, it's oh-so-satisfying when you finally connect all the dots. It's those tiny moments that really make Lovely Runner stand out from the crowd.
But it's not all sunshine and rainbows. There's a serial killer subplot that had me on the edge of my seat. And let me tell you, the final showdown? Talk about intense! Although, I gotta admit, the villain was a bit meh. But hey, you win some, you lose some.
And don't even get me started on the soundtrack! It's like they handpicked every song to perfectly match the mood of each scene. I found myself humming along to "Sudden Shower" for days after finishing the series.
Overall, *Lovely Runner* is like a warm hug on a rainy day. Sure, it's got its flaws, but the feels it gives you more than make up for it. So if you're in the mood for a fun, heartwarming drama that'll leave you smiling, give this one a shot! Trust me, you won't regret it.

What's meant to be is meant to be
A beautiful drama about how fate will always lead you to the person you are meant to be with. The drama started off with great potential and ended with no disappointment. The story was panned out perfectly, no rushed endings. The actors, especially Byun Woo Seok, did an extremely amazing job at bringing out his character. He managed to portray so many emotions and expressions and did justice to his role. The dramas stirrs so many emotions in just a single episode. I have to say that I was skeptical about watching it because of all the controversy surrounding it even before it aired but I am glad I gave it a chance. My Mondays and Tuesdays were full of hope thanks to this amazing work of art.Was this review helpful to you?
Iconic!
This drama is crazily good!I told myself I'll watch it when the whole episode comes out but social media has been influencing me to watch it because of the cast's chemistry. I do not regret it even tho I had to wait weekly for the next episodes.
The cast did an outstanding job portraying their roles! The bromance...ICONIC. The third wheeling moments... ICONIC. Both the main families... ICONIC!!!.
I don't really know what to say... but I'm very IMPRESSED. The way this drama has the past, present, and future included is amazing.
Rewinding... without the character forgetting is prob my fav because other dramas do not have this kind of theme.
The way this drama demonstrates love is on the next level.
Delulu is the solulu.
Nowadays, we can't find someone who willing to do anything for their loved ones. The way this drama shows their love is just... nakakakilig ?
I don't wanna spoil anything pero. Tangina. HOW TO FIND SOMEONE LIKE SUNG JAE??
Anyways... I LOVE THE CAST!
BIG FAN OF Byeon Woo Seok since the movie 20th Century Girl' and 'Strong Girl Nam Soon'. Crazy how he can portray being a VILLIAN (in the drama Strong Girl Nam Soon' and as a high school student. HIS VOICE. AWWWE. AURA.
I'M IN LOVE.
THE OST OF THIS SONG IS JUST PERFECT. I've been listening to it every single day.
Truly in love with the cast.
My review doesn't make sense and I'm okay with that. Because... my feelings are confused.

If you like Rom Coms You'll like this
If you like Rom Coms, you'll like this. What this is, is an old fashioned, lighthearted but very believable love story. The leads really seem like they love each other deeply. It is not meant to be a sci-fi thriller, even with small elements in there. There are no big social commentaries. It is a pure, wholesome love story of two people who save each other and fall in love no matter what circumstance. The chemistry between the leads is what makes this drama special. I really just fell in love with Ryu Sun Jae and Im Sol. Ånd the other characters like Tae Sung and Baek In Hyunk were also just so heart warming too. I watched this drama not knowing what to expect. And I think that is the mindset you have to go in with. It was an underdog drama that no one knew would blow up like it did. That's part of what made it so beautiful, the surprise, the discovery. I loved the story, the acting, the cast, the music...and I have already watched this drama multiple times. It's beauty is in it's simplicity not its sophistication. It's got some of the best rewatch value of any drama I've seen. When I'm sad, this is my go-to drama. There are other dramas that are tighter knit, deeper in it's messages, but in the category of a rom-com...this drama be rom-comming like no other. I have not found a drama that has stolen my heart like this one and that I became as attached to in a long time. I am charmed. But the story, the music, the characters, and the actors. I legit loved this. I only wish I could erase this in my brain and watch it again for the first time again. Was this review helpful to you?

Addictive and cute but..
Actually i wouldn't make any comment but i want to remember what i felt about certain dramas so i will tell about my opinions. So there will be spoilers. It started really strong but at some point it keeps repeating itself and fl was always pushing ml and it kept being same so it was tiring for couple of episodes. It was nice that every episode was unpredictable. While watching kdramas most of us know this is too good to be true but this one was on another level for me. They are so cute together and i liked their chemistry. I couldn't stop watching it until it finished so now i have to start study for my exams. Dont start it if you have assignments ?

This drama have one of the best ost kdrama
Start ep 13 i lost interest but the ost is very good, and i still listen until now. I think the one reason success this drama from OST which bring back memory or kdrama vibe in early 2000 era. Sunjae is the male lead who will loved all kdrama viewers, but for sol character i cant get it why she always push sunjae and keep her love secretly, it wasting time and not meaning.PDnim have good taste, i always like the scene sunjae fall in love or smitten sol so much even ost matching with the scene.

A rollercoaster of emotions?
This drama, first started out quite interesting to watch but first episodes made me cry like a whole lot, It started off quite tragic and started to melt my heart. After a few episodes, I got bored of it as in the FL. No hate towards her just not really a fan of how she portrayed her character when she was a teen(immature). Other than that, I started this drama for the ML watched his drama SGNS and CG this one he keeps dying but will survive in the end and have a happy ending which is what I’m hoping anyways! But overall, this drama made me quite emotional and I didn’t even get this emotional when watching TW but this drama it cute, annoyed me a bit but I watched it ongoing so future viewers who binge watch this prob won’t feel annoyed like me lol. I know so many people who dropped this drama after like 5 episodes, but I still carried on for BWS and I’m glad I did because it just got better every episode. The stalker is what pissed me off to the brim seriously so many kdramas just have to have a flipping stalker in the way. But the stalker isn’t as scary as the one in MD lol that was over the top. I would say the ratings are quite high for this drama tho I mean it’s not THAT good too the point I’d watch it again like no, made me cry too much and the FL annoyed me like hell. Idk maybe the ratings are like high cause of BWS. But I mean it’s well deserved for the acting of both main leads and the support roles (Im sol’s bro and bff) the crew did a good job. Really loved the grandma too. Not too bad of a drama just wouldn’t rate it that high I mean overall I would give it idk a 9 for me Ik it’s like not much of a difference from 9.1, but it’s not that good of a drama, I mean if your in the mood to absolutely cry your eyes out and be pissed at the writer’s decision of leaving Tae-song’s unrequited love untouched then yeah perfect drama for you! I also enjoyed the OST too BWS outdid himself in this drama by debuting his first ever songs!!Although I didn’t like the FL character as a teen I would say I enjoyed her more as a mature adult she went through a lot and even lost her love in the process to protect him which I found very heart touching. After watching 15 episodes, I’m ready to finish this drama once and for all without missing it but I guess I’ll miss Im sol and sun jae. Rooting for them in the season finale!?Was this review helpful to you?
Reminds me of the quality older dramas without the long drawn out pacing and silly love triangle for triangle sake.

Fun and bubbly drama with some darker parts
I really enjoyed watching this drama.I started it a bit late (so that I didn't have to wait every week for new episodes) but enjoyed it thoroughly.
It was truly fun and interesting with surprising parts, interesting characters, and good chemistry.
What I loved:
I felt like the whole time-travel bit was quite nicely done (it made me think of Twinkling Watermelon). I always enjoy the Idol-fan trope, so it was very satisfying.
The music was exceptional, and I got really into it (I will definitely add some of the songs to my playlist).
The cast was so good; all the actors did well and had definitive value. They made the drama truly endearing.
I felt like the darker side of the drama was there but not too much and we got to have nice episodes too.
I liked that SunJae waited for the right time to propose and didn't just do what he wanted. The ring appearing was truly magical and sweet.
What I liked a bit less:
I found it disappointing that their first kiss happened when Sol was drunk, and that SunJae knew about it but still confessed and kissed her. I don't get why he was surprised that she didn't have any memories of it afterward.
I feel like the drunk kisses really have to go; they are way too common in K-dramas.
Some technical time-travel parts didn't fully make sense to me, but it's okay.
We still don't really know why the bad guy is a bad guy except that he is a bad guy...
I don't get why SunJae said that he didn't want her to erase his memories again... like, it was to save his life, not a fun little trip for Sol, so... yeah.
Anyhow, I loved this drama. The ending was so fluffy and satisfying; the main leads were cute and fun. I definitely recommend it!

Best Time-travel Romance drama in 2024
I enjoy this time-travel drama more than current super popular overrated drama QOT!!!I m not fan of time-travel theme and both lead actors!!!
But I like their chemistry, well-written plots, ost!!
Can’t wait to see next 8 episodes!!!
Although I don’t enjoy so much on Last two episodes, it is still good time travel drama.
