Rikona, a former photographer, lives in an apartment near Tokyo with her husband Tomohisa, who works at an advertising agency, and her son Daichi. While busy raising her child, she took on advertising photography work for her husband's company in her spare time, leading to a hectic life. She is from Tohoku, lost her father in the Great East Japan Earthquake, was left in the care of her relatives when she was in junior high school, and has an estranged relationship with her mother. One day, Rikona receives a call from Hiroshi, a photographer who is also her mentor and father figure, that he is going to Belarus to report on refugees, where the situation remains tense.
