Her Serene Highness Aninlaphat, or Princess Anin, and Mom Rajawongse Pilanthita, or Khunying Pin, have been close since they were young. When Princess Anin is fifteen, she must travel to England for her studies, separating the princess from her close friend Khunying Pin by a great distance. The distance, however, allows Anin to come to know herself, to know deep down how she's felt about Khunying Pin without question. Once she returns to Thailand, Princess Anin tries everything to get near to Khunying Pin where she can find the opportunity to confess her love. However, it seems to be an impossible task as Khunying Pin has been engaged to marry Khun Chai Kueakiat. Reviews
This GL series is, without a doubt, the most visually striking one I've ever come across.
I’m not here to spoil the story in my review; I simply want to express my feelings.Initially, I didn’t expect much from the series. Yet, Freen and Becky have shown remarkable growth since their last project together.
The series is so mesmerizing that I felt as if I had stepped into a fairytale. The visuals are absolutely stunning!
Freen and Becky share an incredible chemistry that genuinely makes it seem like they are in love. Their interactions feel authentic and effortless, creating a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. You can truly sense the bond between them, leaving you eager for more of their charming moments together. This is what makes their portrayals of Anin and Pin so remarkable—they breathe life into these characters in a way that feels authentic.
I have to admit, there are times when I really can't stand kissing and love scenes. This feeling applies not only to GL but also to BL and straight series. Why is that? Because these scenes often feel so awkward and cringy. I often find myself watching them at twice the speed or just looking away to avoid the cringe. It seems like many actors don’t have the chemistry (or the confidence) needed, and they perform these scenes just because they’re part of the script.
I've mentioned before that the connection between Freen and Becky is exceptional, and that's precisely why their intimate scenes are so beautifully crafted. You can tell they aren't just performing these moments to check a box; they genuinely feel at ease with each other. This comfort translates into their scenes, making them feel authentic and enjoyable rather than clumsy or uncomfortable. If you’re like me and often feel uncomfortable during such scenes, I promise you’ll love how these are portrayed.
This series has a charm that makes it so easy to watch again. I can definitely see myself coming back to it after some time because it feels like it will never go out of style.
This series turned me into a true fan of Freen and Becky. Before watching The Loyal Pin, I was just a casual viewer, but now I’m genuinely excited to support their acting careers and follow their journey. I hope they team up again in another series, but I’m also keen to check out any other projects (non-GL) they pursue, as they’ve really grown into amazing actresses.
Is this series worth your time? Absolutely! You'll feel as if you've stepped into a genuine fairytale, witnessing a heartfelt love story unfold between two women deeply in love.
What a period series should be
What a incredible series this was. Everything was done with so much care and attention that the final result couldnt be anything but beautiful. The production hit all the points, a period series like this is not easy to find, the director was on point with every aspect this series required, each episode was better than the previous one. The story was built carefully and with the pace necessary to understand the characters, the era they are in, the society the live in, their decisions, basically to understand who they are and why they do the things they do.
The locations were absolutely beautiful, and although we've seen the palace before on other series there were so many parts of it we didnt get to see then that we could see now. The thai culture being shown in this series was amazing, i believe anyone who watchs this will want to go to thailand to see what they have to offer.
Now the whole cast was really good, each one of them portrayed the characters in a way that was never lacking, never letting the quality go down. Both Freen and Becky evolved so much and they delivered amazing performances as Pin and Anil, it was so satisfying to watch them give life to these characters, they were able to bring us all the emotions needed, the happiness, longing, pain, everything.
The ost was so on point, it married beautifuly with the series, from the opening credits to the final credits the music matched perfectly. This series is definitely worth the watch.
