The cutest and almost perfect 2024 BL -If only they stick with the school-based concept

It was one of the cutest BL series this year that made me feel the butterflies, not until the downfall happened during the last few episodes. Despite being rookies, Sea and Keen played their respective roles very diligently. Kang and Moo are indeed a couple of babies that are too fluffy and loveable bringing another set of sunshine to the audience. I also love their distinct personality; Moo is too direct and confident while Kang is too caring and mature.

Almost everyone in the show is likable except for one. Potae is not hateable that much but he is my least favorite character. It would be more acceptable for me if Payos ended up with Jang and not the other one around. Despite this, giving everyone a partner at the end was unnecessary but ain’t that feel too pushover. I am happy to see Shone having his endgame during the last episode.

As I said earlier, I sincerely enjoyed the show during its earlier episodes. The time skip and chasing of dreams was too rushed for me and the sequence of scenes kept getting boring. The plots are too common with no sign of uniqueness from other shows. It does affect my overall rating from a high rate to only landing an average score. Nevertheless, Only Boo felt like another youth romance with a perfect start but with a bad wrap finale.

A wholesome love story

I loved everything about this series. The way Moo wins flirts with Kang and the way Kang slowly accepts his feelings. Yes, there are two(!) episodes that will break you and the ending could have been a bit sweeter, but all in all you will finish it happily.
I started this series for the story and I stayed for the music. Keen (Moo) can really sing (in my opinion). And the lyrics are just so beautiful!
Considering the cast and their acting: I knew Milk only from 23.5 when I started Only Boo and I really loved her as Neth. And for KeenSea and AunAshi: I have nothing to complain about.
I really liked this series and I think, if you need a beautiful love story and still need to cry a bit; this Only Boo is definitely the right choice

A much needed feel-good

At first I was sceptical about this show and I didn't want to bother with it since I was busy. One day I really needed to relax and I decided to give the show a try since I had been feeling kind of meh about a lot of BL's coming out. I think 3 episodes were out and I binged them and then got really sad I couldn't watch any more.

The storyline isn't revolutionary and I don't think it's that deep either, however I rate things, shows, books, whatever, entirely on how much I enjoyed it and I thouroughly enjoyed this story. It's very wholesome and I feel like the stresslevels are very low. There aren't that many stakes and it was just what I needed. There were some scenes where I got quite moved.

I was pleasantly surprised with the acting since it was new actors and I loved the soundtrack, I feel like it perfectly matched the show and its vibe.

This show filled a My School President shaped hole in my heart and I could 100% see myself rewatching this show if I need something lighthearted, fun and cute.

Speaks For Itself.

The story speaks for itself
The acting speaks for itself

Moo, while meeting him in the beginning can appear to be annoying & not so serious. stick with him & watch him grow. Moo, is adorable & so deserving in this series. a genuine-loving human. an optimist. a smile it's a new day kinda guy.

Kang, a lot of folks wanted more in terms of a story from his character, other than just following Moo as he aspired to become an idol. his role - his story was a needed balance to Moo & i have nothing to request addt'l of him. he executed his role exceptionally well.

Parenting, teaching your kids to put your heart on hold for your profession is insane...in any culture. listen to your body when it speaks to you. your brain, heart, stomach, back, arms & legs. listen. never ignore your heart. the same way you follow your dreams & passions in your career - do the same in love. both may be unsuccessful, but follow them nonetheless. and when you boil things down - that's literally what this story was about. in the most simple of words "following your heart."

Friends, 3 guys who were never meant to be friends. Moo, joining 2 guys who were already "friends" but in the most rocky of ways. friendship that began out misunderstandings & dislike. Tae & Moo ultimately becoming the closest of friends, i did not see coming. it made all the sense reflecting back on the story. Yos & Tae...i could see more to their story. Neth & Jang as well. Shone, just disgusting. Moo apologizing to Shone for approaching Kang & speaking to Shone as he did (huh)? probably not a scene that was needed. Moo went above & beyond to be nice to a lot of undeserving ppl & when he finally gave these ppl a real what for, he apologizes. no no my Moo, don't apologize - you're not wrong.

All in All it was a great series that i honestly had no intention of watching, but logging in to certain sites, i would see the series everywhere. so i added it to my MDL list for a future watch. ultimately i needed something to offset the steamy Love Sea. something lighthearted.

A FEEL GOOD SERIES.

I gave it a solid 9.5 out of 10, just based on the warm, fuzzy feeling that we all need once in a while after watching 18+ BLs, and Only Boo! gave me a boat load of that nice feeling at the end of it.

That's not all but the strongest feeling I got after watching the final episode of Only Boo! The plot wasn't extremely unique but also not predictable which is a plus for the team.

I do have a weird love-hate thing going on in my head toward the end. It's just my personal opinion that they rushed the ending quite a lot compared to how long certain scenes or uneventful side stories were in the rest of the 11 episodes.

The cast was young enough to play school kids or else it's always 25 year olds playing 15 which leaves a bitter taste even if the plot line is engaging.

In conclusion, Only Boo! was an adorable, warm and nice series. I'd watch it again with no doubt just to feel comfortable (and to feed my delusion that love ends well for every single human being.)

P.S.- It could be a comfort series for many soft-love BL fans too.

CLASSIC FLUFFY BL DONE RIGHT!!

I'll be honest when I say I didn't look forward to this show AT ALL when it was first announced, even the trailer didn't really catch me but I gave it a chance and watched the first ep and I'm so glad I did!! I was HOOKED since ep 1. This show became one of my favorite shows of all time? all these characters will stay with me for a long time.

The show has a simple plot but no scene ever felt like filler to me. The one thing I really want to compliment is the editing!! It really looked like the editor took their time on this show!!

The cinematography was amazing as well. The lotus pond scene is just so beautiful!

The chemistry between all the actors was amazing! No awkward acting even though the leads are newbies. Keen as Moo really won my heart!! He was incredibly charming and super adorable, I could never be mad at him:( A character like Moo can easily become annoying and over bearing but it was so well done by keen that anytime anyone made moo sad, i was ready to fight people (looking at you shone). Kang's character was more reserved and introverted but I love that Sea managed to portray his emotions properly still! Often times, people end up making such characters like rocks and I hate that! But kang was very dear to me:( I do think sea is lacking a bit in crying scenes but it didn't take me out of the scenes or made me cringe so it's ok, he'll improve with time.

The second couple did amazing as well!! My heart hurt for payos throughout the series and although Potae was infuriating at times, I didn't hate his character at all. Neth was soo fun as well, we love a bestie who is always supportive but will call your sh*t out if needed! and i love that she got her own love interest! Also wanna mention the moms!! I love that both kang and moo's moms were so supportive of them even though in different ways.

I also loved the character development of the couples!! Individually and together. The characters never did things just because, they all had reasons for everything, you might not like the reasons but it made sense for the characters, and that is soo hard to find in shows honestly(especially gmmtv shows).

One thing I LOVED about this show was the COMMUNICATION!! They always talked things through and that rarely happens in shows! Even the breakup was done due to external issues. Loved that they talked about the toxicity of the industry and the fans and how it hurts the idols and their loved ones.

The show did a great job balancing the funny, flirty scenes with the more emotional and serious scenes, also can i mention that the OSTs were absolutely amazing?? Keen's singing is absolutely beautiful!!!

Have already rewatched the show a no. Of times and would definitely recommend to other people who just want to relax a little after a tough day and need some smiles!! This show doesn't get enough love!

New ingredients, but surprisingly delicious dish

I have never written a review on this site, but I feel obliged to write this given some of the harsh critics and how I fell in love with this series despite a relatively new pair of leads.

The plot is not really new as a theme. We have had City of Stars and Lovely Writer that talked about entertainment industry. However, the core of the plot about making choices between love and dream, sacrifices, and others are such a fresh breeze. I also love how the relationship of the main pair is a healthy one from start to finish - not a sham-turned-romantic and one-sided love, etc.

Keen / Moo is the star of the show. I cried nearly everytime he was in tear. He reminded me of Fourth from MSP, but much more dramatic. His acting is also natural in my view. I hope GMM continues to push him forward.

Sea / Kang is a bit stiff in my opinion, but I can see development of his acting skill through the series. I love the chat between Kang and Moo on EP12 the most. I feel that was when he has the best expression in the entire show. While I am not the biggest fan of his acting skill, I must say that the cool, calm, and less expressful acting somewhat suits the Kang character from the original novel. He somewhat reminded me of Tinn from MSP to a certain degree.

Lastly, the second Pair of Yos and Tae was a good match. I must say Im quite annoyed and perplexed how the two lived together for a year without discussing how they are in love with each other. However, I still adore Aun and would love to see more of him in main role.

I hope GMM gives us more KeenSea. The two are really good together!

Adorable Main Leads with Fluffy Chemistry

This is a Thai BL that frankly stands out for me. I had almost given up on Thai BLs because of their unoriginal story lines and sameness. Frankly, they were getting banal. And with the title of this one, it well sort of screamed out to me to skip it because of its vapidity. I am so glad I did not. I loved this series but with two caveats.

The saga starts out pretty much predictable. A precocious young man named Moo (Keen Suvijak) is not living up to his expectations, according to his mother. Moo wants to be an ‘Idol’ and is fixated on it. With grades slipping, she gives him an ultimatum and a challenge. Change or Else. So, she sends him off to a school where she attended that is a bit remote and is given instructions to concentrate on his studies enough to get into a university, and then he can pursue his dream. Meanwhile, he cannot sing or dance until these academic conditions are met.

Too cute to handle, a gem

In my heart it's a 10 and I would gladly rewatch it again and again but if I have to analyze it overall and a bit deeper, there's some (small) elements that could be better or to wish that it would turned out differently. In addition, I wasn't that fan of the filter or the way it was a bit too bright for me (lightning and the transitions of some scenes). But as I said, it's a small part of the negative elements.

It's indeed a cute simple story but they managed so well in executing and developping the plot and making me to be that invested and to looking forward each week!

I do think, this is a feel good serie, even a comfort serie, easy to watch and to root for characters especially Moo. He's really cute, straighforward and a bit annoying but can't help to love this character.

For newbies such as Sea who plays Kang, Keen who plays Moo and Ashi as Payos, they did overall well especially Keen (maybe I'm biased lol). As I'm watching Project Alpha, I'm so thankful that GMMTV gave an opportunity to Keen and Ashi and to be able to shine in their own way. I'm really looking forward to their next projects!

Another character that I really appreciate, it's Nate, the bestfriend of Kang played by Milk Pansa, she's so bubbly, funny and loveable, I truely love her vibe!

As for the OST, I already have my favorite ones but in general, it's easy and catchy to listen.

To put in a nutshell, "Only boo" is, personally, a really nice and a lovely surprise of this year. It was a pleasure to follow this serie since the begining to the end.

cutesy typical bl series

i love it. i love the casting. but the acting tho, i just think that it needed a bit more work. overall this is definitely a good watch. a cute match for the main cast also. I just find the plot and phasing of the scenes a bit boring. i don't know but at some parts it just feels empty and has a lot of space or blank areas. but don't get me wrong, i enjoyed it. i think i just needed some kind of plot twist.

If you're looking for a light-hearted, sweet, romance that's well narrated then this one is for you.

This was really quite cute. Exactly the type of story I was looking for: light, fun and not too much drama.

Both main characters won me over with their likability and realistic portrayal. Moo and Kang were great characters and it was amazing getting to see their journey, both as individuals and a couple.
Payos and Potae relationship was so emotionally explored. All their fears and insecurities coming to life and testing their feelings.
The twists? So well done. They gave the series more depth and I really appreciated that.
The story went quick. I didn't feel like there was much time wasted on filler, though there were some spots that could have been trimmed.
If you are a fan of young adult serials or just into a great story about two people finding themselves in life, this is well worth the viewed.
