After Hsiang’s husband borrowed a huge sum of money from an underground money shop and then disappeared without a trace, she is left a single mother burdened with her husband’s massive debt. Hsiang is incessantly badgered by debt collectors, but has no way to pay the money back and is pushed toward suicide in her desperation.
