A group of young boys and girls with different personalities meet in the hospital due to serious illnesses. Guided by the belief that "my fate is determined by me, not by heaven," Cheng Hui, "first-time cancer patient", and Lu Yu Qing, a "sickly overachiever", come together under the advocacy of Tie Yi, a "long-term patient." They support each other, using optimism and sardonic humor to fight against their illnesses. Despite facing critical life changes at a young age, the youths bring their unique vibrancy and positive spirit to those around them— like the cool and tough Li Zong, who has ovarian cancer; the quiet boy Tian Ran, who has autism; and Tang Tang, who is in a vegetative state due to bullying. They seek happiness amid harsh realities and look forward to sunny days ahead, buoyed by their youth and each other's companionship. Doesn't hit like it should
It's about a group of kids battling illness with small chance of survival rate trying to keep hope alive through friendship. It's a good attempt but for the most part of the story it doesn't really hit.
One of few best scenes that really hit is ep 11 when character Tie Yi shaved his hair. That's like a one-shot kind of scene, you just got to nail it, and he did it. Actor Sun Tianyu has been various supporting roles over the years, so this is a good main role for him to actually showcase his capabilities. His face was convincing but physically he didn't lose a lb for a cancer patient going through rounds & rounds of chemo.
Overall decent watch. Much better than the 80% of copy paste teen storylines out there.
touching
So emotional, so good, so realistic. Sure, some medical technicalities are there but it’s a drama and I think they’ve portrayed all the emotions and made me feel super connected to the characters. A good watch for anyone who wants a good touching show about teens/children’s experience to terminal illnesses.
