Easygoing jdrama
When I tell you I watched Sugar Sugar Honey in two sittings, you got to believe. That’s how easygoing this drama is.I found the story mature enough, granted with some troupe-y issues that I didn't particularly liked but the resolution was handled really well. Overall it’s nice to see a healthy relationship on screen. I recommend it!

OK, but not great even given the constraints of a short series
I liked the leads. I liked the general story. But somehow I was not really drawn in. The chemistry between the leads was lackluster. The side characters were OK, but one-dimensional. The OST was just... not good. Kinda 70s pop or something?Anyway, not really BAD, so if you want to fill a couple of hours go ahead. Just don't expect too much.

Good Enough
Japanese Drama '' Sugar Sugar Honey '' is a short drama. The story is cute and it has it all: food (delicious desserts), sports, old rivalries, office drama, cute romance, comedy, family drama, etc. And it does a good job blending them, though each episode focuses on one of those genres, as the drama's length doesn't allow it to get more in depth.
Also, the romance, though adorable at first, got unnecessarily dramatic with an eye rolling twist in the end.
Finally, the performances were enjoyable by every actor and actress in the cast.
So, overall, five out of ten.

Sweet, cute and apetizing series
Sweet sweet and very Japanese romance between 1 FL athlete retired due to an injury who is finding her past, who loves cakes, and 1 ML genius pastry chef, silently in love with her since high school. They find themselves as colleagues in a large hotel and they will end up falling in love.PROS:
+ Very Japanese series: theme, rituals, very codified behaviors, etc. and series format (8 episodes)
+ Very very cute romance.
+ Very beautiful images of desserts and pastries that make you want to devour them :)
+ Nagatsuma Reo is very handsome and the 2 leads form a great CL.
=> Short and nice series.

PROS:

Was this review helpful to you?
