Ningen no Tsubasa Saigo no Kyatchiboru (1996)

Adapted from Hidehiko Ushijima novel, "Disappearing Spring" (消えた春) . Inspired by real story of Shinichi Ishimaru, professional baseball player, who died as a member of the Kamikaze Special Attack Team in WWII. In 1945, the Saga Commercial Baseball Club had an ace, Shinichi Ishimaru. The following year, Shinichi, who came to Tokyo without waiting for the graduation ceremony, joined the professional baseball team Nagoya, to which his brother Fujiyoshi belonged. Suddenly he made a big success in the debut match with a shutout victory. But soon, war comes, and the man is struck by a wave of tragic events.
