FINALLY: a real heroine
I caught this on an Instagram reel and was intrigued. Yes, the male lead was the primary reason, but he was the clickbait. The format ‘short drama’ is awesome. Not a lot of the long, boring pauses. With sappy music or cliff hanger melodrama. It’s short and sweet. Yay!!What the real joy for me is the female lead. She’s written strong, sassy, smart, and then beautiful. She’s not a shrinking violet letting all the villains take advantage and insulting her, whimpering and cowering. She gives better than she gets. She’s more real and practical. Not perfect either. But still a way better example of a young woman facing some obstacles head on.
I was getting so tired of the Cinderella punching bag. This trope isn’t just Asian, western soaps and movies have them too. A reason I turned to K/C/J-dramas.
Anyway, I enjoyed the story, the slightly over the top villains, well, really over the top villains, the central family of characters, and the ingenious quips and putdowns, and revenge the hero and heroine get just being happy and healthy together.
