Poorly done ending with an unrealistic and insensitive decision to have them reunite in a war torn country and romanticise it in some way I have seen many bad endings but this takes the cake making my rating go from an 8 to a 4

6/10

I'm a little bit taken aback by the warzone arc. If a man is ghosting you, you shouldn't risk your life to find him. I know it was meant to show Heejoo's undying love for Yuyeon, but I didn't quite like it. Thank God it's a happy ending.

This episode does not exist

The entire Argan plot makes no sense. She looks for him searching for a "sunset spot"? in a war zone? dressing like she's going out with friends? After the rescue mission (the ML all alone? so unbelievable), the two talking loudly in the forest, nobody around? And the other hostages? The cabin where they spent the night, another nonsense. White sheets and a window with a beautiful spot on a white sand beach and deck chairs. Remember, in a WAR ZONE.And what about the Ismael/Paletine issue, one minute of pure foolishness. Were the screenwriters drunk? We can save the last minutes of this episode, and use them at the end the 11th, closing the drama in a better way.The 12th episode does not exist.

Zionism

There was no need to touch on the topic of the current genocide, and even if there was, did they have to say that "Paltima" attacked "Izmael" when it's the other way around in real life? I don't think so, people have said that they put this bs in the last episode so no one could boycott it.

Misleading Representation

Inaccurately portrays "Paltima" as attacking "Izmael" and kidnapping South Korean soldiers, a fabricated scenario that misrepresents the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This narrative erases the realities of Palestinian struggles under occupation and aligns with pro-Zionist perspectives, perpetuating harmful stereotypes.

Understanding the Argan arc.

Ok. To address a confusing part of the episode: Argan. If you understand the name and the only place it can possibly be, the “Noble Idiocy” trope becomes a bit less annoying. The only possible real location is Morocco. Argan trees, Casablanca, French Foreign Legion, unrest and dispute over control in the southern districts… It makes much more sense when that is taken in that context. Sa Eon paying for “his” sins, leaving his old name behind. Being reborn. Serve in the Legion and get a new start is a classic meme for this. Not to mention the connection of Morocco to classic film. It also connects well with his leaving everything of his inheritance behind. Remember, too, that he has a history as a war correspondent. Now, why they didn’t just say Morocco, I don’t understand. Perhaps they were afraid of censorship or complaints? On the plus side, at least they didn’t say he was serving in “Africa.”Was it a needed part? It depends on how true they intended to stay to the original web-novel. Keeping with that, I'd say the writers did as good as could be asked and they kept it quite short and let us have a nice fluffy ending.

ZI0NIST DRAMA-

The show was mediocre, not very interesting. BOYCOTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!It was totally unecessary and sneaky if the writers to refereence the genocide that israel is carrying out on Palestine. And to twist the narrative shows poor ethics and morals from the writing team. To mention it in the last 5 mins was so sneaky. If you have such strong opinions next time say it at the start so i know not to watch ew. Disgusting cheap drama, third class acting and writing.

Ok Chat GPT, generate the most ridiculous drama ending

Seriously this ending is a masterpiece... of disaster :)
At some point I expected a UFO landing.
My guess is that the Screenwriter sent a piece of her child's school project instead of the real screenplay by mistake ...and the staff just went with it :D

Zionist propaganda

This show nosedived into zionist propaganda in the last couple of minutes, when it wasn't even included in the original novel. They went out of their way to plug in the zionism like they just couldn't resist it. Embarrassing.

From the river to the sea, Palestine will…

From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free! Absolutely disgusting and despicable . I stopped using other social media bc of zionist bullshit and now they are sneaking Zionist propaganda into Kdramas. Whoever let that pass must think the audience is dumb enough to not notice that.

BE HUMANE!!

Please use whatever illustrations or visuals you want, but don't try to reverse the facts that happened...From the river to the sea 🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉 let's be a decent human being and do not call it war open your eyes, do not trust this kind of propaganda if you already watched this, it is not your fault, go give them 1 star and youre being helpful to others...In an era where media plays a powerful role in shaping perspectives, it is irresponsible to create-or support-a narrative that undermines the fundamental values of empathy and human dignity. This is not just a bad movie; it is a harmful one. You're evil

Is 'paltima attacking izmael' really necessary in this episode??!

Disgusting! I don't like how they included such a sensitive issue. Last episode ruined this good drama! No hate to the casts, i love them. I just hate the writer who included that scene.

Five Stars

The finale tied up everything beautifully!! I'm sad that it has ended but my heart is so happy seeing them together. This drama will always hold a piece of my heart cause it came to me when I was stranded on a lonely island. It made my weekends exciting again. Its been quite some time since a drama caught my attention like this. I saw a few people say that the Argon plot was unnecessary but in my opinion, it definitely was necessary. Yuyeon just can't live happily with Heejoo with a guilty conscience. Even if the other person has forgiven you, it is difficult to forgive yourself and Yuyeon needed that time for himself. This drama is my top drama for 2024 and I have no regrets watching this show. Everything was perfect!!

what…?

im sorry, but…i was rlly interested in this drama and watched it ongoing. Ive liked it all and was excited abt new episodes.however this last episode was the perfect definition of them shooting into their own leg. like why did they have to suddenly include war topics that werent even explained what the correlation was to the characters or how this was at all needed in the drama. I mean overall it was good that it was a happy ending and how they resolved everything but they RLLY shouldve just cut these war scenes out (which were clearly abt 🍉 & 🔵⚪️🔵 ) ! Its just my opinion & dont take it offensive. Its my first time ever ranting abt a dramas ending that negatively but I just had to get that off the chest !

perfect ending

I could not have imagined a better ending. Loved every bit and enjoyed every scene. Everyone had a closure and a happy endings. All relations were flawed initially and had their own development journeys.

Argan? What?

The previous 11 episodes were great. But then they realized they had to produce 12. So they came up with a really bad and strange plot to fix that.

Soo good ending.

Episode 12 finale when the phone rings. First 40 mins i feel like the story was a bit dragged. They could have shorten those scene and give us some more saju couple scene. I liked that they gave each charcahter proper closure. But last 30 min woww the kiss the bed scene so good. Their chemistry is already off the charts we know that but their newlywed phase was best. They liyerally looks so good togethere. Also i laughed out liud when he says his changed name. Yu yeon. Man he changed his charachter name with his real name. 😂 overall the drama was a super duper hit for me. I loved how the fandom watched it together. Ps my man yeon seok looks so hot in the last episode army look and negotiator look. He should try these looks more.

Lots of threads left dangling in the finale

I thought surely this drama had jumped the shark with the dramatic cliffhanger at the end of episode 10, but the plot wriggled out it off satisfactorily. However I'm still struggling to figure out what happened in this final episode after the cliffhanger at the end of episode 11. The storyline in episode 12 is really hard to follow, the characters shoot off in nonsensical directions, and plot threads are left dangling. This drama was nearly a 10 in my book, but the ending was a disappointment.

Five Stars

One of the best finales I've ever seen. Sure, there are some unrealistic things that happened, but the finale gave a sense of completion, especially the way the scenes ran parallel to the first episodes and some memorable moments as well.

When the Phone Rings: A Perfect Blend of Romance and Thriller

When the Phone Rings is a captivating drama that masterfully combines romance, thriller elements, and an intriguing storyline that keeps viewers hooked from start to finish. With its compelling characters, intense chemistry, and unexpected twists, the drama offers a unique blend of emotional depth and suspense. Loved the chemistry, YYS's acting, Mr. Kang, 2nd leads were also good, the friendhip between ML and his bestfriend and how he supported him in the worst moments, bonding between the 2 sisters, it was so good until 10 epi. In my opining the ending was rushed and a bit disappointing but thankfully the OSTs were amazing.Perfect for fans of romance with a hint of mystery and Wattpad-like vibes, this drama will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions. Whether it’s the heartfelt relationships, the thrilling moments, or the beautifully portrayed bonds between the characters, When the Phone Rings is an experience you won’t forget. Highly recommended for those who love a mix of love and suspense! Straight out of the Wattpad
