Amazing Start 1/13

William and Est, what are you doing to me?! These two swept me completely off my feet. Their chemistry is absolutely off the charts and it’s only the beginning.

The first episode is giving everything: so many emotions and a plot that already feels different from the usual GMMTV fare. Thame and Po are two broken people who are clearly about to find in each other the comfort and healing they so desperately need. Thame is chasing his solo dreams, leaving his bandmates behind while Po is carrying his own pain, all while documenting the emotional chaos of Mars’ final concert. There is so much loneliness in both of them and I already know their story is going to make us cry, swoon and then cry again lmao.

The acting is also WOW. I mean I expected Est to be good (he’s been a favorite for a while now) but William? He completely caught me off guard. His portrayal of Thame is so vulnerable and at the same time, you can’t take your eyes off him. Is there anything this man can’t do? And don’t even get me started on their chemistry. Thame and Po’s interactions feel so natural yet emotionally charged. There’s a slow burn brewing here that’s going to destroy us in the best way possible. I CAN FEEL IT.

This show is also feels very mature. Yes, there are lighter moments to balance things out but I think its more about healing and self discovery. PLUS the production quality is chef’s kiss y'all. Every shot is so beautifully composed, you could frame it as art ffs. And the music is of course an orgasm to the ears. I mean, we are talking about LYKN here.

Either ways, this first episode has me hooked. There is incredible acting, the chemistry is beyond amazing and the emotional parts are very well done. I can’t wait to see how Thame and Po’s story unfolds. It’s already promising heartbreak, healing, and everything in between, and I am so here for it.

Note : This review will change as the story progresses

Review ep1

was really angry with William's character, but it's ok because he's literally in idol survival mode. I really loved Est's character, he's so handsome! I love his acting.
I'm very proud of my Lykn boys (fan since before the series was announced☝️) them acting and singing is everything, I'm 100 times more in love.
(Tui and Hong's girl here🤭☝️)

a mention to Ciize and Samy who are shining as always! (gmm please value the women in the company more. we love them) 🌸💖

Was that song made for the series??? What a good song, I loved it so much! Add it to Spotify now!!!

So far I've loved it a lot, this series came with a lot of potential, I hope everything works out. I loved the acting, soundtrack, photography and everything else.

I love MARS, omg!!!!!
(don't disband, please! 🥴)

A Mature Storyline

I had not expected , I thought this would be same Thai traditional cheesy BL story but I was wrong . Gmmtv did a great job .

Disclaimer - I wrote this review according to my own thoughts . This review may contain spoilers . It will be change according to the upcoming episodes .

Story - Po , a heartbroken soul , was wondering a good job but everytime for being honest he failed at the interview . He recently broke up with his partner ( Earn ) and tried to heal his broken soul . He suddenly got a job at a big entertainment company and he was tasked with documenting a boy group's ( MARS ) final concert before their disbandment . Thame ( the leader of MARS ) about to make a solo debut in South Korea for a misunderstanding with his bandmates .

Impression - A mature and emotional story . The way the actors expressed every details ,is excellent . Thame and Po , both of them were trying to understand their hearts with each other's companion . The cinematography and visuals are top tier . As William is here then the music must be good , yes his beautiful voice stole our heart . The intro was so beautiful , one of the best intro I ever seen .

Overall - Try one episode , you will understand . I am giving 10/10 .

First Impression: ThamePo Heart That Skips a Beat

Overall: the first episode had a good set up and I appreciated the lack of comedy sound effects that are prevalent in GMMTV's series. 13 episodes about 45 minutes each. Airing on GMMTV's YouTube channel as well as Netflix

What I Liked
- the set up was woven in well (with the interview and information about the band) instead of a blatant exposition dump
- Po's supportive friend
- how both Po's and Thame's past experiences shaped their current views of the situation
- production value/music

Room For Improvement
- the "I can explain" but doesn't explain/other person doesn't wait for an explanation

Current Favorite Obsession!

Okay. Wow! Where do I start with this story? Because everything looks perfect. And this is only 2 episodes! Can you believe this? I can’t either. It is safe to say that I am hooked.

A young photographer named Po (Est Supha) is lost in life. He doesn’t have a decent job, he fails an important interview, he has a habit of saying wrong things at the wrong place, he is ashamed of his parents sending money to him, he is also a bit slow, he is dumped by his love who used Po’s talents for his own gains. So when, a friend recommends a dream job- capturing the final moments of the beloved T-pop band MARS- Po can’t resist the opportunity.

Things get interesting when Po meets the band’s leader, Thame (William Jakrapatr). Let’s just say their first encounter isn’t exactly smooth sailing!

Don't look at the rating and rush to judge, this series is much better than the number above, I don't know why it is rated so low but it deserves a rating of over 8.0. The chemistry between William and Est is very good, the two are a very nice couple and I believe they will do much better in the following episodes. This is Est's first leading role and also William's first leading role debuting as an actor besides being an idol before. Please give them a chance because this is all their first chance. You can check the positive reactions of many other directors and many others towards this series on X App. Please support these cute 2 kids and LYKN because they put a lot of effort and time in this project. 💯

WILLIAMEST IS THAMEPO

First of all, wow! We all didn't expect ep1 this good, it's so good that you just want to watch the entire episodes now. People are also surprised that William is just 19 and it is his first acting gig, in shorter words it's his acting debut. He set his acting debut so high, coz HE CAN ACT!!! As for est, i don't have enough words how good he is, this is his first lead role and his killing it!

Let's jump to ep1, the storytelling, i love it! The introduction to every characters, it's giving fanfiction i love it so much. It's not too much, you can bear it! What I love about it is that, their acting, like damn that confrontation scene where they need to let out every single frustrations they have. po, he was being left by his ex, not acknowledging the things he did for his ex — leaving him questioning his worth.

thame, who's about to leave and carrying a pain too. I'm sure he's hurt in so many aspects, the group is his family, and you'll understand where his coming from when he throws his line to po.

Overall, you can always watch the ep1 while waiting for the next eps. i have so high expectations in the next eps! I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!

and, just a simple fact if u don't know, they kept thamepo for 4-5 years, and they started to work on it when they saw william's potential as thame in the survival show, project alpha. and as for est, when the director saw him, she knew that he's po. DESTINY BROUGHT THEM TOGETHER!

THAMEPO: THE HEART THE SKIPS A BEAT

I honestly just want to praise the cast and crew for giving such a SCRUMPTIOUS Ep 1. The acting was impeccable, the music was out of this world and the storyline is GIVINGGGGGG. I must commend William for absolutely nailing this role with his glorious acting as a rookie actor. I also must commend Est for his always perfect acting. HE SLAYEDDDD.

Can't wait for EP 2. ♥️♥️🥰

I LOVE THIS.

OMG! WillEst tuh KEREN BANGET PLEASE??? Aku sebel sama karakter William di eps pertama—ini karna cuma tau POV nya Po & belum tau perasaan Thame saat itu gimana. Terus pas ending, akhirnya sedih banget.. :(( Thame, kamu sendirian ya? issokey, Po bakalan nemenin kamu kok!

Wajar banget sih Thame diginiin sama ke-4 member MARS & berakhir hubungan mereka jadi jelek. Kehidupan idol gak seindah itu guys. ^_____^ Andaikan aja kalau mereka komunikasi dengan baik, mungkin gak bakalan sejelek ini hubungan Thame & ke-4 member MARS. Excited banget nungguin eps selanjutnyaa! Semoga aja alur nya gak berubah sampai akhir, nggak tiba-tiba ngebut karna ngejar eps terakhir.

Music is the other main protagonist

Who hasn't had the fantasy of a musical idol falling in love with you? What would happen if you fell in love with the fashionable youth idol when you are tasked with documenting his latest concert as part of a boy group? What would happen if in the midst of the band's dissolution you became its leader's closest confidant?
'ThamePo Heart That Skips a Beat', the Thai romantic drama directed by Mui Aticha Tanthanawigrai ('The Shipper', 2020), tells the story of Po (Est Supha Sangaworawong, 'Love by Chance Season 2: A Chance to Love', 2020), a young filmmaker who finds work in an entertainment company as director of a documentary that will record the latest performance of the popular boy group Mars, and is bewitched by the charms of Thame (William Jakrapatr Kaewpanpong), the band's singer and dancer, as well as his heart and soul.
And it's art that unites Thame and Po, in a way. Each one from their own line (Thame in the musical area, Po in the cinematographic arts), and they come together at a middle point that leads them to love, while one is about to leave the band to debut solo in South Korea due to a misunderstanding with the other members of the group, and the other must capture the group's final concert in images and sounds.
Both the work behind the script and Est's inspirational and empowered performance add to the narrative of the series substantially. The fact that the protagonist is a young man who has left his happiness and future on hold during the time he was dating someone who led him to be in the background in the relationship, turns a premise disconnected from reality into a very more earthly and empathetic. One that allows the viewer to understand more about the phenomenon of invisibility that some people suffer when they are part of the lives of public figures, such as artists. But if Po, his character, is leaving one of these relationships, he runs the risk of falling into another, when his path crosses that of Thame.
They are both heartbroken and need to heal. Will they find comfort in each other? Can they share their loneliness and sadness? In addition to their passions for music and directing work, will love be what heals them? Will the band's fate be to disband once Thame becomes a solo artist, leaving his bandmates behind? Is this Thame's dream or is it an action undertaken by internal conflicts that can be overcome? Will Po manage to overcome the trauma of having been a "shadow" in her relationship with her ex-boyfriend? Will Po be able to prevent the group from dissolving? I ask myself these and other questions, and I hope to have answers in the final episode.
Against all logic, the series does not raise the curtain on the meticulous process of creating a global musical sensation, but on the imminent separation of the iconic world-class boy band, made up, in addition to Thame, of Dylan (Hong Pichetpong Chiradatesakunvong), Nano (Lego Rapeepong Supatineekitdecha), Jun (Nut Thanat Danjesda) and Peeper (Tui Chayatorn Trairattanapradit).
The series does not raise the curtain on the meticulous process of creating a global musical sensation, but on the imminent separation of the iconic world-class boy band, made up, in addition to Thame, of Dylan (Hong Pichetpong Chiradatesakunvong), Nano (Lego Rapeepong Supatineekitdecha ), Jun (Nut Thanat Danjesda) and Peeper (Tui Chayatorn Trairattanapradit).
With a script by PingPong Suwanun Pohgudsai ('Cherry Magic', 2023-2024), Kannika Tovaranonte ('Gen Y', 2021), and the director himself, the series is a GMMTV production aimed at showcasing the five members of the group LYKN boys, winners of the Best New Artist award at the Komchadluek Awards 2024, who on screen show their skills as singers and dancers.
Combining their talent and charisma with exemplary physical discipline, William, Hong, Lego, Nut and Tui drive the viewer crazy with their songs, dances and stage movements. After starring in the short film 'No Worries', in 2023, and the documentary 'LYKN Day1 to Debut', the five members of LYKN more than reaffirm their acting and musical abilities.
From the first frame in which he appears, William is not only able to fill the screen, but he also manages to perfectly convey the energy of his character and the very particular circumstances in which he finds himself. Something that really manages to captivate the viewer and make the journey that the character goes through much more transcendental for them.
The series not only tells a romance between Po and Thame, or the story of the idol band, but also reflects on the price of success, the importance of friendship and the need to balance notoriety and privacy in a relationship couple. With convincing performances, this series promises to be an unmissable event for lovers of BL and music in general.
Although these are preliminary assessments, since only one episode of the 13 that the series has has been broadcast, Est manages to portray the young film director who must carry out the mission of filming the documentary of the Mars farewell concert, while deals with the recent breakup with his ex-boyfriend Earn (Pepper Phanuroj Chalermkijporntavee), the trauma left in him by a toxic relationship in which, after helping or achieving success, he was despised by the person he he loved, and the feelings that Thame, the handsome and seductive leader of the band, awakens in him.
Without a doubt, music is the other main protagonist. In addition to "All I Need", by LYKN, other musical themes by a real band created for the series are played, such as "I Remember", in the voice of Victor Lundberg, and "Destined", a song performed by Tui Chayatorn, among others.
The lyrics of the songs turn out to be a decent summary of the series: "How could we fall so quickly and let ourselves go? It's time to give up. Now that it's over, there's nothing to say 'cause, I guess we've said it all," we signals the breakdown of Po and Earn's relationship, but then, like a pleasant foreshadowing, we will hear: "You stole my heart in the blink of an eye. I've been yours since the first time we met. All I need is you!" ", as a sign of the birth of a new romance, while the audience claps their hands and sings the song.
Likewise, Thame performs a song with the other members of the band, and then acts alone on stage, and sings a song in which he expresses: "...although all the dreams we had did not turn out as planned," and Dylan, Nano, Jun and Peeper retire, leaving only the leader of the group on the stage, it is a prediction of what the viewer could expect in the series if they do not solve the group's internal problems.
In my opinion, the creators have sought to make the story seem as authentic as possible and ensure that the actors who are members of LYKN were integrated into the plot in a real way. The five boys have this type of integrity, which must be of great help, since in the progression of the series in general, they are in charge of writing, performing and dancing the songs that we hear intertwined with the love story between Thame and Po.
It's too early to give conclusions, but what I've seen so far, I believe this couple's romance. Yes, they are diametrically opposed in some aspects but at the same time very similar in others. The fact that their relationship makes them grow individually enriches the plot. Examples? We can see it when Thame tries to better understand Po's passion for art. Likewise, when Po tries to look at Thame as the man he is and not the famous singer.
In this sense, how I would like them both to learn a lot about themselves and their sexuality through their relationship with each other, that they both make the other better on a personal level, and that together they can keep the band together.
But I will tell this later.
