What was the point?
Basically it's just a regular episode where the viewer doesn't really get anything more out of the 10 episodes of the Takara no Vidro series. You get 23 additional minutes of the same story without really adding much. Time has passed (between 6 months to a year) but you can't really tell by yourself, as the show needs to do so with the "Takara-senpai returns from a long hiking trip" thing. The emotional investment of Taishin himself makes it feel like he went down the convenience store, not to another country.
Even the stalker turned BL fan fic writer felt cringey, despite me being actually curious about her POV in the teaser.
Personally, I think even those who really loved this show should just move on and find something else to enjoy, as this special seemed unnecessary, even counterproductive, as Taishin and Takara felt like roommates, not lovers.

Silly and Unnecessary
This diminishes and takes away from the story. Perhaps it is just me, but I found the narrative with the spin-off to be a bit too contrived and unnecessary. It slips the story back into banality. It is completely unnecessary. This series is a remarkable study of the character development of two rather asymmetrical individuals who needed each other, found each other, and for lack of a better term and become the epitome redefining the term, soulmates, a term I truly detest using. What is further astonishing is no one else sees it except one – at the end in the spin-off. And all this did was took away from the story; not add to it. Do not bother to watch this. It is unnecessary and takes away from the impact of the story iteself. Was this review helpful to you?
A stale Spin-off lacking substance
The spin-off episode of 'Takara no Vidro' fails to capitalize on its potential. The lack of character development and progression is particularly disappointing. The episode feels like a filler, offering little new to fans of the show.It was indeed heart-warming to see that Takara and Taishin are still going strong in their relationship but there are still significant things they are unaware about each other. Feels like, although the relationship is strong, there is lack of communication between the main characters. There is no growth or understanding between them.
A potential spin-off theme could have been exploring Takara’s past with his parents and exploring the reasons behind his guarded nature and the events that shaped his personality. Juxtaposing his past experiences with his current relationship with Taishin could create a compelling narrative arc
In conclusion, there is no loss if viewers miss this episode as there is nothing new of offer

Useless But Okay.
Did it add anything to the existing episodes? NoWas it necessary? Absolutely Not
Was making a fellow classmate stalk them for material worth it? Nope.
Was seeing the gorgeous Takara and Super Smitten Taishin worth it? Absolutely Yes.
This wasn't Japan's best by any means but I liked the MC. They were sweet and sometimes that's all you need. Uncomplicated.
So no, this was no Cherry Magic, Kieta Hatsukoi, If It's With You or Our Dining Table yet it had it's own charm.
So one useless (SPECIAL EPISODE not SPINOFF) was worth less than 25 minutes of my time.
Not for everyone but we are all different people.

Um, why make it a spinoff?
The rating I give is relating to the overall story (original story + this spinoff)I mean, I appreciate them making this episode for us to see their "future" life...but...honestly, they could just put this as a normal episode. There really is nothing special, and it just shows their life a little bit after a year or so.
Disclaimer - Here is a summary of the episode if you don't want to watch this lmao. It's so short and nothing that I can write it in bullet points XD
- Takara went overseas 3 weeks ago, and then came back.
- Taishin misses him and they spend time together
- Taishin's bday is tomorrow, turning him 20 aka the legal age to drink, so Takara made him food and gave him alcohol.
- Taishin got drunk and confesses to Takara about how lonely his was - feeling like maybe it was difficult to be in a distance relationship if it ever happens. Takara saying he used to feel the same, but no longer cares and wants to be with Taishin no matter what.
- Taishin then fell asleep cause he drunk lol
- He woke up, dun remember much. Takara be like "let's go for a walk, Taishin."
- Taishin dokidoki because Takara said his name, Takara then got embarassed.
- In the entire episode, their friend (i forgot her name), is a fujoshi, who is writing a novel based on them. In the end, her novel will be adapted into a series
THE END
Yep, it was that short wwwww So, yeah, don't expect anything unique about this spinoff! BUT HEY THEY ARE STILL CUTE

The treasure is in the relationship
I liked this. So many BLs show us the sexual tension (Where your eyes linger), gay awakening (Hidamari ga Kikoeru) or getting together (too many to mention) that we never actually see them dating. Well this was a slice of them dating and whilst it wasn't long enough to score perfect scores it was lovely to see them relaxed in the relationship without the anxiety and stress we saw before.
Interesting that a lot of people didn't rate this highly. The whole point for me is what happened next. Maybe people wanted to see something grand? Not for everyone but for me it worked. And I'm glad they didn't wait months to release this too.
Enjoy !

more of the same
Overall: I found this 23 minute lacking in showing relationship progression between the two protagonists. It was at least 6 months to a year into dating and that was a lackluster response to having a boyfriend return from a long trip. They felt more like roommates to me. The addition of the stalkery woman writer was cringey. If you want to watch it I'd suggest 6:50-9:42, 12:10-15:28, 16:45 to the end.
