Reviews
a slow, poignant flick.
as part of my vic zhou binge-fest i started watching 'a moment of love' assuming it would be just another girl-meets-boy clichéd romance, which to be fair it is albeit in a very good way. as opposed to what the posters convey, the movie is not one bit corny. it is an understated piece of magic. the characters are convincing and believable. there isn't any forced chemistry or romance and everything falls into place in a very natural way, just as the makers obviously intended. vic zhou (aka the main draw) delivers very well in an understated, restrained performance whilst still retaining his natural charisma, which is to be expected obviously. the female lead, however has the main role in keeping viewers intrigued as she wades through *ahem ahem* 'matters of the heart' in a very minimally exhausting manner, thank god. you'll have to excuse me, i'm far too weary of watching female leads who have no sense of direction or conversation whatsoever but thankfully, this one has both. a feature which really makes the film would be its stunning cinematography. concepts of travelling, love, self-discovery are explored satisfactorily. overall, amof is a very watchable, visually-pleasing film capable of tugging at your heartstrings numerous times. all that however, amplifies to 100X if you're a zaizai superfan. just saying. Was this review helpful to you?
