First of all, this story is suppose to be seen as continuation of the 13th Prince/Chen Xiang from some synopsis I read. It has been almost two years since I watched Gong I so I couldn't recall enough details to piece everything together. But throughout the short drama it revolved around 13th Prince/9th Prince(XiaoHao)/Liu Li.

The reason why I actually started this drama was for Zhang Zhe Han. The story is about how Xiao Hao meets Xiao Li and they try to find out what's her identity. It also goes in depth into why 13th Prince's mother died. Overall the story line was confusing for me personally. Like I understood all the events that occurred, but I don't understand why the characters made certain decisions.

On the side note: If you watch The Palace the Movie it's actually based on the same characters but another spin-off -- I actually like that one much more compared to this drama unfortunately. Even though ZZH looked so cute in this drama :/

A sweet drama lasting 9 episodes.
OK, apart from some minor plot contradictions, it is a well made mini drama.
About the love of Xiao-hao(a reincarnated 9th Prince, son of Emperor Kangxi) and the spirit of palace maid Glass (Liu Li).
Her body was found frozen for 300 years and her spirit conscious appears to have forgotten her past. She hides inside a porcelain vase and met Xiao-hao at Dubai :)

episode 1 shows the hilarious encounter between the couple at Dubai.
episode 2 shows Xiao-hao's helping Liu Li regain her memory who she actually was. Along the way they met a mysterious blind old woman who was Qing Dynasty palace maid able to time travel back by swallowing a mystical pill
episode 3 shows the old woman's narration of the feud between 2 palace concubines, Min and Hsi, which Liu Li mistakenly thought she might be one of them
episode 4 goes further in depth showing how the good concubine Min was "sabotaged" by the evil concubine Hsi.

I actually didn't mind the time travel/modern day part

Usually, I don't care much for the modern-day dramas or the time-travel storylines, but I love Zhang Zhehan so I took a chance. I'm glad I did. OK, so there are a few sloppy loopholes, but nothing so glaring that they cannot be ignored. After all, it's a scant 9 episodes.

Loved the camaraderie between the ML and his 2 'brothers'. The chemistry between the ML & FL was believable but nothing to set my heart a-beating (except Zhang Zhehan - did I mention that I think he is gorgeous?)

I'm going to attempt the Part 2 - with no expectations, but a little hope.
