Cart and Silenced both portray ordinary people confronting powerful institutions over social injustice, highlight resilience and solidarity, expose societal issues to the public, and aim to inspire change by addressing systemic oppression. Silenced (2017) deals with systemic corruption and abuse at an institution, as a teacher fights to protect vulnerable students. It’s powerful and raises awareness on social issues in a manner akin to Cart.

Both works are based on the same real life event that took place in South Korea in 2007 where temporary cashiers at a mart were fired and decided to strike.
