If you have watched the season 1 of this show and felt something was missing in the end, then this Saikou no rikon Special is for you, if you didn't feel so, then skip this Special...

As for me, I felt that season 1 ending had not addressed the main issues with both the couples efficiently in the last episode, so I loved this special. It gave a proper closure, leaving a bit of hope in the end...

Season 1 ending was like a window dressing for me, where things were looking neat and proper outwardly but instead of actually sorting the main clutter that was in their way, they just put it into the back of the closet or pushed it under the carpet for a quick resolution. So this Special addresses that problem because the clutter that was swept aside kept accumulating over the course of 1 year after that last episode and things have become suffocating now...

So now both the couples decide to clean their clutter properly this time instead of resorting to the easy way out. As a result somethings are saved and renewed and somethings they decide are better off if given away to make space for better things to come in future...

This episode is the very definition of bitter-sweet and heartbreakingly beautiful... Everybody gets a proper ending in this and everyone's problems are addressed, not necessarily in a happily ever after way but in a more practically satisfying way... Girls finally speak openly about their deal breaker issues in their respective marriages and guys finally speak about their true feelings for their spouses more openly in this episode... You'll understand that everyone truly loves the other, very very much... It's all beautiful, sad and happy, all at the same time...

For all the bitter-sweet feelings it will give you, it will also leave you with a beautiful glimmer of hope in the very end... Both the letters, the 'love letter' she decides to keep with her and the love letter he sends at last, both are harbingers of a good time in future and this time they both will finally be on the same page when it happens... And it will lead to a more permanent happiness that time... <3

My rating : 7.8/10 :)

PS: I felt so bad about that lion... ;( He looked so lonely and sad and it must have been very cold too... :(

Other than the actors and music, this was yet another despicable horrible not worth watching special. I really hope they come out with a season 2 to this horrible special. They just needed to leave well alone and ended it with the drama in 2013. I'm not saying how it ends and I'm not saying anything other than what a despicable special...
