OCN's "The Uncanny Counter", which ended in record breaking ratings, confirmed for a second season!
On January 25, an official from the drama revealed through media outlets that "The Uncanny Counter" is confirmed for a new season. Details like filming schedule and broadcast date are yet to be announced.
They also shared that they are coordinating with main leads Jo Byung Kyoo, Kim Se Jeong, Yoo Joon Sang and Yeom Hye Ran on their appearance on the second season.
Web toon based drama "The Uncanny Counter" aired its final episode on January 24th and in the last scene, instead of the counters wearing their iconic red tracksuits, they are seen wearing formal suits seemingly hinting on the second season of the drama.
Aside from a confirmed second season, another achievement made by the drama was revealed. The finale episode that aired on January 24 received the highest viewership ratings for the entire drama. Nielsen Korea reported that "The Uncanny Counter" gained an average nationwide rating of 11.0 percent. They did not only break their own record but they are now declared as the highest rating drama of OCN in history.
Due to this drama, several projects were offered to the main leads. Jo Byung Kyoo is currently considering a historical drama but nothing is certain yet on his future project. Kim Se Jeong on the other hand, shared through an interview that she will go back to pursuing her solo music career. Meanwhile, actress Yeom Hye Ran will star in the upcoming movie entitled "New Year Blues" premiering in Korea on February 10.
The drama is not only loved in Korea but also overseas. Many are already looking forward on the next chapter of the uncanny counters.
