Although I Am Not a Hero tells the story of a family with superpowers who have lost their abilities due to chronic diseases common to modern-day people and a woman who becomes involved with them.
The K-drama is helmed by SKY Castle director Jo Hyun Taek, with the screenplay written by Joo Hwa Mi, and its original creator is Kang Eun Kyung (Dr. Romantic, Gyeongseong Creature).
The script reading was attended by director Jo Hyun Taek, writer Joo Hwa Mi, and actors Jang Ki Yong, Chun Woo Hee, Go Doo Shim, Kim Su Hyun (aka Claudia Kim), Oh Man Seok, and Park So Yi.
Jang Ki Yong plays Bok Gwi Joo, who possesses the superpower to travel back in time but loses it due to depression.
Chun Woo Hee portrays Do Da Hae, the mysterious woman who gets involved with the extraordinary family.
Go Doo Shim transforms into Bok Man Heum, the authoritative member of the Bok family, who lost her power to see the future in her dreams as a result of insomnia.
Kim Su Hyun plays the character of Bok Dong Hee, Bok Gwi Joo's sister, who lost her ability to fly due to bulimia (an eating disorder).
Oh Man Seok transforms into Eom Sun Goo, the only member of the Bok family without a superpower and a lively homemaker father.
Park So Yi plays Bok In Ah, Bok Gwi Joo's daughter, who struggles with her late manifestation of abilities.
In other news, actor Choi Kwang Rok gained 30kg for his role in the K-drama Although I Am Not a Hero.
Choi Kwang Rok joins the cast as Noh Hyeong Tae, a member of the so-called Jjimjilbang fraud group.
Through his agency ESTeem ENT, Choi Kwang Rok expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to portray such a character, stating that although the process of gaining weight was not easy at first, he cherished the chance to portray this character and approached filming with enthusiasm.
