BTOB's Yook Sung Jae will officially return to acting with the upcoming drama "The Golden Spoon."
On November 30th, it was announced that Yook Sung Jae is finally confirmed to lead the upcoming webtoon-based drama "The Golden Spoon." The drama will be directed by Song Hyun Wook ("The King's Affection") and written by Yoon Eun Kyung and Kim Eun Hee ("Winter Sonata" and "Sweet 18"). The drama will be produced by Samhwa Networks (“The Fiery Priest” and “Dr. Romantic 2") and Studio N ("True Beauty" and "Yumi's Cells").
"The Golden Spoon" will be based on a popular webtoon of the same name by HD3. The webtoon was serialized in 2016 and concluded in 2018 with a total of 106 chapters. It will tell the story of a child born from a poor family who switched his parents through a mysterious golden spoon. He exchanged parents with his friend who was born with great wealth.
Yook Sung Jae will be playing the character named Lee Seung Chun. He was born poor and has been wanting to turn his life around. He then made it happen through a mysterious golden spoon. The idol-actor has been one of the top choices of the fans to play the role according to several online communities. Many are already anticipating how he will portray the role and how he will be in sync with his character.
"The Golden Spoon" will start production this year. It will premiere in the first half of 2022.
"The Golden Spoon" will be Yook Sung Jae's official project after returning from his military service. He last starred in the 2020 drama "Mystic Pop-Up Bar" together with Hwang Jung Eum, Choi Won Young, Jung Da Eun, Lee Joon Hyuk, Na In Woo, and more.
