The Uncanny Counter Season 2: Counter Punch continues the thrilling adventure of the Counters (demon hunters), who have grown stronger with upgraded powers and the addition of a rookie counter. Together, they take on the growing evil forces that threaten humanity.
Retaining their roles from Season 1 are Cho Byeong Kyu as So Moon, a Counter specializing in psychokinesis and possesses the ability to summon Yung's Territory; Yoo Joon Sang as Ga Mo Tak, a Counter whose greatest power is his superhuman strength; Kim Se Jeong as Do Ha Na with special powers to sense evil spirits who are even hundreds of kilometers away, and read memories; Yeom Hye Ran as Counter Chu Mae Ok, the one with extraordinary healing abilities; Ahn Suk Hwan as Choi Jang Mool, the Counter who financially supports other Counters. In addition, Yoo In Soo will join the cast as a new Counter in Season 2.
Coming as evil spirits are Kang Ki Young in the role of Pil Kwang, a powerful demon with psychokinesis powers; Kim Hi Eo Ra as Gelly Berherd, who revels in murder; Kim Hyun Wook as Wong Yeok, who gains healing powers after killing a Chinese Counter. In addition, Jin Seon Kyu will be seen as Ma Joo Seok, a compassionate firefighter who lost his wife at the hands of demons and seeks revenge from them.
Based on the immensely popular webtoon of the same name, which has garnered over 160 million views, The Uncanny Counter Season 2: Counter Punch series has established itself as a powerhouse, achieving the highest ratings among all dramas aired on OCN.
With just a few days left till the premiere, tvN has released two teasers showing the premise of the drama.
The Counters are joined by a new member Na Jeok Bong (Yoo In Soo), who has the unique ability to track evil spirits by their stench. Though a little clumsy, he quickly becomes a part of the Counter family. Following the joyful scenes, the teaser takes a drastic turn showing the demons attacking firefighter Ma Joo Seok's (Jin Seon Kyu) pregnant wife, Min Ji (Hong Ji Hee), leaving her fatally wounded. Joo Seok, blinded by fury, decides to seek revenge no matter what comes his way.
The antagonists of the drama are epitomes of evil, a testament to Kang Ki Young, Kim Hi Eo Ra, and Kim Hyun Wook's ability to bring the dynamic characters to life.
The second teaser shows the Counters hitting, smashing, and pulling off mind-blowing stunts, hinting at the grander scale of the series. Their teamwork and unwavering determination to catch the evil spirits shine through. The second teaser also shows Ma Joo Seok saving So Moon's (Cho Byeong Kyu) grandmother, earning So Moon's gratitude, and admiration.
