Choi Ji Woo will reportedly join the upcoming drama "Shooting Star."
On January 21st, several media outlets reported that Choi Ji Woo will be added to the cast of the tvN's series "Shooting Star."
tvN and Choi Ji Woo's agency YG Entertainment responded to the reports and shared that the actress is still reviewing the casting offer and nothing has been confirmed yet.
"Shooting Star" will depict the stories of people from behind the scenes that do all the efforts to make a star shine. The drama will reveal the life of PR teams, managers, reporters, and more. The upcoming series will be helmed by director Lee Soo Hyun ("The Witch's Diner") and rookie writer Choi Young Woo. The dama will be produced by Studio Dragon and Mace Entertainment.
The upcoming tvN drama will be led by Lee Sung Kyung, Kim Young Dae, Yoon Jong Hoon, CNBLUE's Lee Jung Shin, Girls Day's Park So Jin, N.Flying Lee Seung Hyub, and more.
If Choi Ji Woo accepts the offer, she will be playing the role of a top 90's actress named Eun Si Woo.
"Shooting Star" will air this coming June. The drama will be available on both tvN and streaming platform, iQIYI.
Choi Ji Woo is set to return to the drama scene this year after five years. She last starred in the 2017 drama "The Most Beautiful Goodbye" along with Won Mi Kyung, Yoo Dong Geun, Kim Young Ok, Yoo Jae Myung, and SHINee's Choi Min Ho.
The top actress will be part of the upcoming Daum Kakao TV drama "Goosebumps." Other casts of the drama include SHINee's Choi Min Ho, Hwang Seung Eon, BLOCK B's P.O, and Jung Dong Won.
If Choi Ji Woo confirms her casting for "Shooting Star," this will be her second project for the year.
Meanwhile, Choi Ji Woo has starred in several dramas such as "Twenty Again," "The Suspicious Housekeeper," "Stairway to Heaven," "Winter Sonata," and more.
