The long wait for "Cliffhanger" is almost over!
According to several media outlets on June 18th, tvN's much-awaited drama "Cliffhanger" has finished filming last June 17th and will finalize all the remaining shots on June 28th. Once everything is done, the upcoming series will officially be out on October 23.
"Cliffhanger" is set to have a total of 16 episodes which will be led by Jun Ji Hyun, Joo Ji Hoon, Sung Dong Il, Oh Jung Se, Jo Han Chul, Jun Suk Ho, Kim Do Yeon, and more. The story will revolve around people hiking through the mysterious regions of Mount Jiri, the largest mountain on the South Korean mainland. "Cliffhanger" will be a collaboration between writer Kim Eun Hee ("Kingdom" series and "Signal") and director Lee Eung Bok ("Sweet Home" and "Mr. Sunshine").
Many are already anticipating this drama with the partnership of Kim Eun Hee and Lee Eung Bok, as well as the combination of "Kingdom" stars Jun Ji Hyun and Joo Ji Hoon.
This drama will mark Jun Ji Hyun's return to the small screen since her 2016 series "The Legend of the Blue Sea" with Lee Min Ho. Aside from "Cliffhanger," the top actress will also be the main star of the upcoming special episode of "Kingdom: Ashin of the North" that will officially be out on July 23rd on Netflix worldwide.
Meanwhile, "Cliffhanger" will be Joo Ji Hoon's next project after the hit Netflix series "Kingdom: Season 2" with Bae Doo Na, Ryu Seung Ryong, Kim Sung Gyu, and more. He will also take part on several upcoming movies such as "Along with the Gods 3," "Along with the Gods 4," and "Silence."
