SBS gives a tantalizing sneak peek of Song Kang's stunning transformation into demon Jung Koo Won.
Despite his cold demeanor, Jung Koo Won is a kind and charismatic demon. As depicted in the stills released, his bewitching aura steals the spotlight.
Koo Won's appearance as chairman of the long-established "Seonwol Foundation" adds another dimension to his character.
Jung Koo Won, the demon who has made dangerous yet sweet deals with humans whose lives are hell, gets entangled with devilish Do Do Hee. Having observed human desires and their true nature for a long time, Koo Won reigned as the predator for over 200 years, regarding humans as insignificant.
His transformation into Do Do Hee's bodyguard brings a change in him. The disapproving look of Koo Won, standing with his arms crossed protecting someone, injects a dash of humor into his otherwise displeased countenance.
Song Kang expressed his reasons for choosing this project, stating, "I was interested in the romantic comedy genre, which I had never tried before, and as I read the script, the content and the character's dialogues appealed to me." Regarding the character of Jung Koo Won, he explained, "He is someone who takes pride in being flawless in every aspect, but after a certain incident, he undergoes a significant change."
He further stated, "In the process of Jung Koo Won's transformation, various aspects will be revealed. It will be a character different from what I've played before. To express Jung Koo Won's emotions well, I added ad-libs. And in trying to portray the character in my way, my own personality seems to reflect a little within Jung Koo Won."
My Demon will premiere on November 24. Global viewers can stream the K-drama on Netflix.
