"I had the desire to make something new": "Chicken Nugget" Director Lee Byung Hun Comments

Director Lee Byung Hun promises rib-tickling comedy in Chicken Nugget.  

Chicken Nugget is a mystery comedy drama about Choi Seon Man (Ryu Seung Ryong), a father trying to bring back his daughter Choi Min Ah (Kim You Jung), who has mysteriously turned into a chicken nugget after she entered a strange machine. The K-drama is based on the popular webtoon of the same name. 

Hued with the colors of humor and thrill, and starring Ryu Seung Ryong, Ahn Jae Hong, and Kim You Jung, with renowned director Lee Byung Hun holding the megaphone, this K-drama promises a comedy like no other.

Director Lee Byung Hun commented, "I felt, 'It's really just fun.' I thought it was definitely worth telling." "I had the desire to make something new by adding to what the original author had done." He emphasized his focus was on maintaining the essence of the original while infusing his own rhythm into the adaptation.

With regards to incorporating humor codes from the webtoon, he stated, "I wanted to expand the theme and instill a deeper sense of reason as each character had a clear purpose." He stressed delivering the message in a light and easy way while ensuring the content remains substantial.

Above all, he dedicated much effort to bringing the extraordinary imagination depicted in the webtoon to reality. He remarked, "Chicken Nugget has a very distinct color. Rather than doing something different, I wanted to adhere to the webtoon faithfully." 

Chicken Nugget will premiere on March 15, exclusively on Netflix.
