Actor Im Hyung Joon is confirmed to join the star-studded cast of the upcoming Disney+ K-drama Low Life.
On April 17, it was officially confirmed that Im Hyung Joon would be joining Ryu Seung Ryong, Yang Se Jong, Lim Soo Jung, Kim Eui Sung, Kim Sung Oh, and Hong Ki Joon in the upcoming Disney+ adventure K-drama Low Life.
This is his first confirmed project since the 2023 K-drama Big Bet Season 2. This will also be his second official Disney+ original K-drama since its debut.
Last year, Im Hyung Joon gave a strong impression as a Consul in the Philippines for the K-drama Big Bet. He also made a special cameo appearance in the hit Disney+ original K-drama Moving.
Im Hyung Joon made his acting debut in 1999. He has appeared in various K-dramas such as Be My Dream Family, Criminal Minds, The Merchant: Gaekju 2015, Angry Mom, Fated to Love You, IRIS, and more.
Low Life will revolve around an uncle and his nephews who went to the West Sea after receiving an offer to be treasure diggers. The K-drama is set in the 1970s. The story will be depicted from the webtoon titled The Hooligans created by Yoon Tae Ho.
The upcoming K-drama will be directed by Kang Yoon Sung who also created the hit K-drama Big Bet and the blockbuster films The Roundup, The Outlaws, and more.
This will be the reunion of director Kang Yoon Sung and Im Hyung Joon. The two previously worked together for the K-drama Big Bet and the hit film The Outlaws.
In the series, Im Hyung Joon will portray the role of Ko Seok Bae, one of the divers in the play.
Low Life will be released in 2025 and it will exclusively premiere on Disney+.
According to reports, actor Im Hyung Joon is already participating in the filming of the upcoming K-drama.
