Polaris, starring Kang Dong Won, Jun Ji Hyun, and Oh Jung Se, has confirmed its release on Disney+.
Disney+ original series Polaris tells the story of Moon Ju (Jun Ji Hyun), a diplomat and former ambassador to the U.S. with an international reputation, who, along with San Ho (Kang Dong Won), a special agent of unknown nationality, pursues the truth behind a massive incident. This marks Kang Dong Won's return to K-dramas after 20 years.
Kang Dong Won plays the role of San Ho, a former ace among international mercenaries, a mysterious figure whose nationality and past are shrouded in secrecy.
The K-drama marks Kang Dong Won's return to the small screen after 20 years. The actor also participates in the production of Polaris as a producer.
Jun Ji Hyun plays Moon Ju, a diplomat and former ambassador to the U.S. who has earned deep trust in the international community. She discovers that a political scheme involving both North and South Korea is behind an assassination.
Queen of Tears director Kim Hee Won, is helming the K-drama, and the screenplay is written by Little Women screenwriter Jung Seo Kyung. Additionally, director Heo Myung Haeng of The Roundup: Punishment joins as a co-director.
Polaris will get a global release on Disney+ sometime in 2025.
