Actor Kang Shin Il's first K-drama project for 2024 is the upcoming KBS K-drama Love Song for Illusion.
On December 29, Kang Shin Il's agency Blade Entertainment announced that the actor will be joining the soon-to-air KBS K-drama Love Song for Illusion.
This will be his first K-drama project for next year. The actor is also set to star in the upcoming movie MORA with Lee Dong Hwi, Han Ji Eun, Girls Day's Park So Jin, and Cha Mi Kyung.
This year, Kang Shin Il starred in several K-dramas. He was part of the K-dramas Joseon Attorney: A Morality, Numbers, and Korea-Khitan War. The actor is currently starring in the ENA K-drama Tell Me That You Love Me led by Jung Woo Sung, Shin Hyun Been, Kim Ji Hyun, Shin Jae Hwi, Lee Jae Kyoon, and Park Jin Joo. He also made a special appearance in the film My Heart Puppy.
Kang Shin Il is known for being part of the K-dramas Doctor Prisoner, Mr. Sunshine, Descendants of the Sun, Pinocchio, God's Gift: 14 Days, and more.
Love Song for Illusion will be led by Park Ji Hoon, Hong Ye Ji, Ji Woo, Kim Dong Won, Shin Gi Hwan, and Hwang Hee.
The upcoming K-drama is a fantasy historical romance series that will tell the story of a King who possesses two different personalities and an assassin girl who was tasked to kill him. The story will be adapted from the webtoon of the same name by Vanziun.
Kang Shin Il will portray the role of Jin Mu Dal, the father of Ji Woo's character Jin Chae Ryeon. He secretly dreams of their family ruling the current era.
The upcoming series will be the collaboration work of director Lee Jung Sub (Dali and the Cocky Prince and Queen for Seven Days) and writer Yoon Kyung Ah (Homemade Love Story and Master of Study).
Love Song for Illusion will air its first episode on January 2 at 10:10 PM KST.
