According to exclusive coverage by Star News on the 24th, Kim Jae Wook has been confirmed to be cast in the upcoming historical drama "Song of the Geomungo: Golden Swallow" (AKA Tangeum).  This marks Kim Jae Wook's return to the historical genre after approximately 15 years since KBS 2TV's "The Kingdom of the Winds" in 2008.

"Song of the Geomungo: Golden Swallow." is a mystery romance drama based on a novel of the same name. It tells the story of the daughter of a wealthy merchant in the Joseon Dynasty who suddenly goes missing and returns with a different appearance as her estranged younger sibling traces the disappearance and uncovers a horrifying truth.

In the drama, Kim Jae Wook will portray Grand Prince Hanpyeong, the current king's only brother, who is not interested in political power or palace affairs but is deeply devoted to academia and the arts. He exhibits an obsessive passion for art, even resorting to keeping young children underground for long periods and using chemicals to make their skin pale before tattooing them. Grand Prince Hanpyeong uses amulets to prevent misfortune and ensure the king's and his faction's stability, elevating their position.

"Song of the Geomungo: Golden Swallow." will be directed by Kim Hong Seon, known for his work on OCN's "Voice," "Black," "The Guest," tvN's "L.U.C.A.: The Beginning," Netflix's "Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area," and Coupang Play's "Decoy." The script will be written by Kim Jin Ah, who worked on Apple TV+'s "Dr. Brain" and ACEMAKER
 will handle production.
