Lee Elijah is confirmed to be the female lead in the upcoming new Coupang Play drama "Chronicles of Crime."
On August 30th, Lee Elijah's agency Ungbin ENS shared, "Actress Lee Elijah will be the female lead for the new Coupang Play drama. Please show your interest and love."
Aside from that, Lee Elijah was spotted in the script reading of "Chronicles of Crime" today together with other cast.
"Chronicles of Crime" is a 12-part series that will showcase the journey of digging the truths of past unsolved incidents through brutal current events.
The upcoming series will be directed by Kim Hong Seon ("Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area - Part 1," "Voice," and "The Guest.")
The cast of the original series includes Jang Geun Suk, Heo Sung Tae, Lee Elijah, Lee Seung Wook, Lee Seung Joon, Park Myung Hoon, Oh Yeon Ah, Lee Won Jong, and more.
Lee Elijah will play the role of Chun Na Yeon, a passionate reporter who's always on standby to get the latest news.
"Chronicles of Crime" will begin filming in the second half of the year. The series will reportedly premiere in 2023. This will possibly be the third original drama of Coupang Play following "Anna" and "One Ordinary Day."
This series will be the comeback of Lee Elijah to the small screen since 2020. She last starred in the series "The Good Detective." Her contract with her former agency expired in 2021 and she signed with Ungbin ENS last March 2022.
For this year, the actress will be joining the soon-to-air movie "A Man of Reason."
Lee Elijah is known for being part of the dramas "Chief of Staff," "The Last Empress," "Fight For My Way," "Uncontrollably Fond," "The Return of Hwang Geum Bok!," and more.
